  1. Hi All.......Please forgive if this is asked over and over.....we have been on a few carnival cruises, but never purchased the Cheers program. Is the gratuity included in the price?  Also I see there is a 15 drink a day max...saw certain things weren't included...bottles of wine etc...but are premium drinks included? ie....If I want a grey goose tier Long Island Ice Tea...is this ok?

There are no receipts and no charges. The 18% gratuity is included in the promo. Order a beverage, nothing more to worry about. Cash tipping is not required nor is it expected. In my way of thinking if you wish to provide an additional tip to certain waiters that served you all cruise long feel free to do so. If done we would do this at the end of the cruise. But, nothing is required.

    Thank You!

  3. Hi All

I hope its ok to chime in with another PBP question.  The current promotion says it includes gratuities as well (18% I think); so how does this work?  Is it just shown on your receipt and that's that.  I love the fact that its all inclusive so I assume the server is aware of this and doesn't expect a tip...akward…..

No, it is not “safe to say” that.  It is probable, but there is always a chance that a slight delay in reaching the port or in processing debarking passengers can result in a scheduled 7AM return to port not getting passengers off before 10AM or so.

    ok thank you

Oh yeah...they want everyone to leave ASAP....  About midway thru the cruise, they ask those with early flight to let them know, so they can put you in one of the 1st groups off, assuming you aren't doing "self-carry" off the ship.

    Thanks so much!

  6. Hi I am just starting to research the Princess Line....I see the list of ships over at the right side of the screen, but would like to know their order from newest to oldest. Can anyone tell me where I can find this info?

  7. great start - we were on the Glory September 30 - October 7 - we had the premium internet and it was so bad when I complained they refunded my money and let me have it for the week - which still stunk because it didn't work well at all.

I was going to buy the package so I could use groupme app on my phone to text with my daughters...and to check our son's homework assignments on the school website....Do you think I will problems too?

  8. Hi All

I'm going to purchase the wifi package and was hoping someone could tell me if it actually works. We want to be able to pull up our sons school website to get his daily homework assignments on the laptop. And be able to use groupme AP on our phones to communicate with our daughters.....Can we use our cell phones? Any info regarding phones and internet is greatly appreciated.

  9. Is your problem that you don't want to eat or drink at all, or you want to choose where you eat and drink?

My first priority is a pool and least number of vendors so although transport is less to Bananarama I know there is no pool and it will be busy. We have been to Roatan many times, spanning over 10 years, and we have still yet to make it to the acclaimed West Bay because I dont like crowds! I just feel the crowds are not going to get any less and I need to go at least once so I can say I have been and by choosing Paradise I can walk the beach if I want to.

I am sure you could write to Paradise directly and ask but if I didn't want to take the Shoreexcursioneer option I would book through one if the driver companies regularly recommended on here like Rony's or Bodden and ask them what their rate is. Having your own driver leaves you completely flexible to stop and start and change your mind if somewhere or the weather doesn't work out and you want to change your mind.

Thank you I will check that out...and yes you hit the nail on the head...we would like to choose what we eat and drink the package option is very limited.

  10. You can have it all but at a price!

It has been reported in the past that day passes to Paradise have been $10pp. The expensive part of Roatan has always been the transport costs. There is a sliding scale depending on number of people in your party for a private driver for a day. This ranges from about $25pp for 4 or more in a car to $40pp, if only 2. Taxi fares are not regulated, some people have had success haggling but it is not worth my time on vacation and then you have to secure return transport.

The current pricing for the day pass to Paradise is very good - we are considering it for our next visit, so I have been checking! As I see it you can arrange your own day pass and driver, take the transport package to Bananarama and walk next door and see if you can get a pass to Paradise or book the Paradise package to be sure of transport and day pass but decline the food option when you get there. Even declining the food I don't see a lot of difference pricewise.

thank you...transportation was my concern on going it alone...when i google Paradise I only get the hotel website which as far as I can see does not offer the day passes; so I am not quite sure how I can book thru them....This whole thing is exhausting me! lol I think I am just going to end up at Bananarama.....I appreciate everyone's in put.

  11. Little French Key is a private island offering day trips...I would suggest reading this thread on Trip Advisor to better understand the way the owners and their reprsenitives behave. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g292019-i4482-k10912899-Little_french_key_questions-Roatan_Bay_Islands.html

West Bay Beach and most of the beachs Roatan are public, many of the locals are hawking their wares along the beach, the only way I know to avoid them on West Bay, where Mayan, Infinity, Paradise Beach Club, Tabyana and Banarama are is to stay off the beach. Infinity, Mayan and Paradise all have pools.

Another option is to go to a resort where the only acess to the beach is through the property. Fantasy Island, Parrot Tree, and Paya Bay come to mind.

What is it you wish in your day pass expereince? If you only seek sand, about anywhere would do, if you want easy to access boat free snorkling of the reef, West Bay is the better bet.

Thanks Guest 2000...I have zero'd in on banarama and paradise beach. Ofcourse I can never seem to get exactly what I want. Excursioneers offers a day pass package for both. I would take the paradise pass but I don't want lunch included (limited options) and they don't offer this. I would like them because of the pool and towels. Banarama seems to be the choice since they have a no lunch option (no pool or towels though :(.....

But now I find out that it is a 6 hour excursion and you are with a group; so I don't know if I like the idea of not being able to leave when we please...Any suggestions on another tour company? Or doing it on our own? My concern with being on our own is safety.

  12. I am trying to decide between Banarama or Paradise Beach Club day pass as well. The company is Shore Excursioneer and they offer both. I would lean toward Paradise because you have use of the swimming pool and they provide towels, but their pass includes lunch (limited options) If there was a no lunch option I would go there....Banarama offers a no lunch option, but no pool and no towels....Why can't we just have it all?!!

  13. Nothing like that in Roatan.

Suggest, Little French Kay, or if wanting to go to West Bay, check out Maya Princess or Infinity Bay.

Crewsweeper do you think you would be bothered by vendors anymore at one of these all-inclusives any more so then just being at one of the West Bay beach clubs? Its all the same strip of beach isn't it? I asked about Mayan Princess last night, but no one responded. I am trying to decide to buy a pass to Mayan Princess thru cruise line or just go over to banannarama or one of the other places on West Bay with amenities. What do you think?

  14. Taxi question here...I have read that more than one person said they were dropped off at a shopping area on the ride back and had to walk over to the ship. Is it ok to just tell your driver that you have not interest in shopping and just want to be taken to the ship? We will have our 9 year old son with us and after a long day in the sun he won't be the only one who doesn't want to walk anymore or shop.....

  15. Cozumel is in the Eastern Time Zone but does not observe Daylight Savings Time. During our DST Cozumel will match the Central Time Zone. Outside of DST Cozumel will match the Eastern Time Zone. Ships time will depend on which port you leave from.

Thanks....maybe you can help me with this specific thing then....We are sailing from Miami on western caribbean itinarery. Our ship schedule says we will be in Cozumel 8am-5pm.....So is there anyway to know now with this information whether it will be 8am in Cozumel when we get there as well? Forgive my ignorance
