A million thanks, Bird Travel. I’m scheduled to be on the Prima in December for the 5 night Cozumel and Costa Maya ports. I’ve spent the morning going through your post and especially the dailies. With luck these dailies reflect the itinerary for my 5 night cruise and can assist me in planning and
making reservations.

Thank you. Following…. Booked for December. Have a wonderful time!

To date, is there a set rule with NCL with regards to excursions with a third party company, private or only with NCL sanctioned excursions being allowed?
-
Perhaps a safe vaccine might change all the speculation. Fingers crossed!

Same here..this summer’s Alaskan Cruise on the Bliss cancelled and rebooked for next summer (fingers crossed) on the Encore in order to visit Glacier Bay. I will however miss the entertainment offered on the Bliss vs the Encore. BUT NOT TO COMPLAIN...to be able to return to cruising will be wonderful.

NCL emailed me with FCC for only half of what was paid for (actual cost per person with no add ons) our cancelled Alaskan Cruise plus the 20% of THAT amount. My account on the NCL website reflects this also. There is no refund for the second quest! Has anyone else experienced this? I was under the assumption that there would be 100% of the cost the bonus.

I resigned myself to the fact that my June 28th Alaskan Cruise is History. Oh yeah, as in I rescheduled for next year!

I’ll be in Skagway this July (fingers’ crossed) and taking the CHILKOOT Tour. I’ve heard and read wonderful reviews about this company. Earlier this year I spoke with the Owner and I must agree.

Has any Cruiser used this company recently? I’ve booked it for next June 2020 but cannot find any recent reviews on most sites. Does anyone know if they’re still in business?

We are booked with Jayleen next July. She returned my email request almost immediately. That is superb customer service. Can’t wait!

So glad that this was posted. This is exactly the information that I’ve been searching for on the boards. Thank you.

Hi Jenf22...I so agree about the savings! As I posted...all the reviews I’ve read about the RC kid’s club are very good.

While I sail on Celebrity, RC (upcoming Symphony) and NCL, I’ve taken the family on both Disney Dream and Fantasy. The grandkids were in the same age group as yours are when on the Fantasy, a little younger when on the Dream. The service exceeds any I’ve ever experienced on any cruise line that I’ve sailed, however you do pay a premium price for it. The children’s club is fantastic! Disney is about kids....so there are lots and lots of kids everywhere . Disney characters and Princesses through out the ship is a sight for any age especially all the Star Wars characters on SWDAS. And Disney’s entertainment (shows) is amazing. Should you decided to sail Disney I highly recommend Star Wars Day at Seas on the Fantasy even if your children are not big fans. It was an experience that all in my family will never forget. My opinion for what it’s worth is that your children are at a good age for Disney as were mine, so if you are considering this option perhaps now might be a good time. I’ve read many reviews about the RC kids’ activities which all are very good. My Grandkids are now a couple of years older and were on the Allure last year and did not want to join the kids’ club. They grow up fast.

Just got off the phone with a reservation consultant and inquired about the UBP buy one 50% off the 2nd. I was informed that the currant no sale price with 18% gratuity is now over $80 per person per day therefore the BOGO 50% off takes the total for 2 to $859 (including gratuity) on the Synphony. I’ll have to do the math.

Surely it is time to do away with the Robotic Bar and replace it with a Celebrity style Martini Bar The Robo Bar is a novelty first time you see it, but it is too slow if you actually want a drink. The Ice Top martini bar is always a great place to “Chill” with friends
I’ve not sailed with RC for a number of years (will be on Symphony in March) but always enjoyed the Martini Bar on Celebrity. So I do agree with this post.....”always a great place to chill with friends”.

Hi Melanie (MrMrsSteelman) and welcome to the boards. (I’ve recently departed from Detroit and cruised NCL Getaway). Upon a suggestion from my Daughter of a less expensive flight, I flew into FLL on the day before embarkation in Miami. The ride to the port (Lyft) was not too long. You stated that you’d like to see the ships therefore than by all means stay in a hotel near the port. Regardless of where you choose to stay try to get in at a time where you can enjoy the pre-cruise day so check what is near the hotel you choose. With my upcoming cruise I’m flying into Miami and staying for the first time at the Hampton Inn Brickell area a popular choice on the boards (husband wasn’t happy with the travel back and forth to FLL). Yep, the planning for your first cruise can be a bit overwhelming, so the cruise critic boards will give you many answers to your many questions. “John in DC” is a plethora of knowledge and also Keith. Enjoy all you do...even the planning. I find that it may help to make the anticipation of the upcoming cruise even more exciting.

I’ve booked the Hampton Inn Brickell (a Hilton property) for my next cruise based on all the many great reviews I’ve read from the CCs.

Oh and to give you what you have all been waiting for...
Thank you all for coming along on these crazy journeys. It’s been an amazing year of cruising, but I feel like I’m only just getting started.
Rick, you are the best!!!

LYFT: TOO SHORT A DISTANCE TO GALVESTON PIER?
in Gulf Coast Departures

I’m deciding on a couple of hotels on Galveston Island prior to my cruise. They are only one half to one mile from the pier. Will I have a problem getting a Lyft ride with it being such a short distance?
