  1. The HOHO bus has a stop just outside the port so not far. To be honest though the only place you are likely to want to get off other than at La Seu Cathedral is Bellver Castle. The HOHO is good if you want a narrated tour around the city but not good value if you are just wanting to get into town. I would suggest a taxi or No1 bus (or walk) from the port to Palma and explore this lovely city on foot.

As for the Caves of Drach they are a great day out but a good distance to travel. You will spend a considerable part of your port day travelling when you could be exploring the old town.

  2. We heard absolutely nothing in the cabin. Not even our neighbors. We were 8-9 cabins away from Centrum (with the very loud music).

You must by opposite the forward lifts. You have cabins above and below you. I wouldn't expect any noise. Most people use the aft lifts anyway.

ETA: I was bothered by noise, but it came from my sleeping partner. Not much to do about that apart from ear plugs :)

We are opposite the aft lifts in 8592. There looks to be a bulkhead separating the cabins from the Centrum so should be okay ( I hope).

  3. Good to know. Do you remember which one is actually closest to the entrance? DD will be using the beach wheelchair, & I have mobility issues as well

We were number 9 so you would be best with number 7 or 8. A point to note is the tide came virtually to the front steps of no 9 at high tide so back row may be more convenient for you.

They have a map of cabana locations when you reserve so you should be able to see where each one is in relation to each other.

As you will need wheelchair access it may be worth contacting RC in advance. Don’t worry about the distance from the port area either. There is a buggy specially for cabana customers to transport you across the island.

  4. We were in # 13 and it was in the front row next to the last all the way to the left so I would assume #1 is the back row.

We had number 9 which was front row, second from the right. It was very near the buffet area but as they all together it really doesn’t matter. It purely is a front or back row preference. Low numbers at the back higher ones at the front. Nice little private beach area and worth every penny.

  5. No one was called to the muster stations although some people did go with their life jackets.... mainly the ones from decks 2 and 3 because the smoke was so thick. The alarm bells (7 shorts and one long) were never sounded.

We were ordered to muster stations with our life jackets by our stateroom attendants (deck 3). This was purely precautionary as there was a smell of smoke in the passageway. We didn't see any thick smoke but the smell was quite strong. Those on the upper decks did not have to muster. The smell is still lingering in the stairways but other than that all appears back to normal.

  6. It is interesting to note their denial that they claim to have never have advertised Anthem with the Dreamworks experience.

If you take a look at the online Worldwide 2015-16 brochure from the UK website every entry showing an Anthem itinerary has the Dreamworks logo and the words 'Dreamworks Experience Onboard".

If they make an admin error then they should be honest and admit it not just lie. Unless of course RCI are not responsible for the content of their brochures.

  7. Hi

Hoping someone can help us out we sailed on Indy this year and we had a promenade cabin on deck 8 would like the same for a sailing next year but can only get inter connecting cabins.

We have had interconnecting rooms in hotels before and never had a problem but have seen comments saying to avoid on ships.

Can anyone with any experience of both please let me know if the noise is the same or is it worse on a ship

    Thanks

We had an interconnecting cabin for our children on Indy for the last two years. The first year there was no noise from the next-door cabin but this year there was. The stateroom attendant taped up the door seals and bottom gap for us and this helped cut the noise right down. Our neighbours were kindly asked to turn their TV off when the room was empty and keep the volume down when it was occupied. They obliged as soon as they realised that their noise could be heard next door.

In the end the cabin was fine but if your neighbours are noisy or not willing to turn their volume down then yes you may be disturbed.

  8. We have booked a balcony room for $2070pp when they were running the obc of $200 and classic drinks package.

The same room is now $1855 and the website says they are running a 10% discount.

Is this a price reduction that I should be asking for or is it one of those offers that you can't combine?

Final payment only due next year. Thanks for your help!

Probably not as the Ts&Cs specifically state that the 10% discount applies to new bookings. If they do offer it you may lose the drinks package and obc.

But if you don't ask you don't get. Definitely worth a call.

  9. Looking at buying the soda package for our cruise later this month? It states that you are given a tumbler to use. Do you have to carry it and use at all times or can you just show your sea pass and get sodas without it?

We are travelling on the Indy out of Southampton at end of June, usually go with Celebrity and a bit anxious about this one having read some of the reviews. Would love to hear some positive feedback. :):)

Don't worry about some of the reviews about Indy. We were a bit nervous last year for the very same reason. We enjoyed it so much we are returning again this year. A great ship and a fun cruise awaits you.

  10. Now THAT'S my idea of a good package!

Does this also include the ship photos, too, or only photos they take of you?

The package does not include the ship photos, so yes you only get photos of your group. A further thing to note is the photos on the disc do not have the surrounds on them i.e. the welcome aboard photo does not have the ship name, dates or ports of call. We managed to buy all hard copies of the prints for a further $50 (in 2011) on board so we took home the best of both worlds.
