The reason they take so long is because of all the people who won't attend when called. They are now scanning sail and sign cards so they know exactly who showed up and who didn't.
On our cruise on December 3rd a woman passed out from the heat because of how crammed in everyone is with no airflow while waiting for a few idiots to trickle in giggling like they are children getting away with something.
Carnival should start the drill at the specified time and released as soon as it's over. Then those who didn't attend should be paged to attend the muster station so that they are still in compliance with the laws around the requirement.
This is what they did on the Valor last month. We stood for about 30 mins, at the end of the muster drill they paged actual names of people to go to guest services to get the muster info.

I sailed the Escape last March and our Stewart offer to open the balcony divider for us. So I guess some will do it for you. It stayed open the entire cruise.

you could just call Carnival and see what they say instead of getting other people opinions...

I would imagine you would still get your suite priority boarding.Yes , Anyone in a Suite , FTTF or Diamond or Platinum must still pick a time , but can show up anytime they want
Thank you for the info. This seems to be a strange way Carnival has decided to do things. Why make me pick a spot when I don't require one. Now I am taking a spot from the time slot I have chosen, that someone else may need to use, when I can go whenever.

Thank you for the heads up. Now I have a question. I have selected our desired time but we are booked in a Family Harbour Suite. Do we get priority boarding, meaning we can show whenever?
Thanks

We have stayed at the Red Roof Inn Miami Airport. They have a one way shuttle and secure long term parking available as well as a free breakfast. It was good. We are looking at staying there again in March.

None of the FH Coves sleep 5 (like 2406), only the FH Suites & Deluxe OVs do. I think I've only seen 2 different Suite configurations for 4...one with half the couch made into a bed w/ the pullman above it, and one with both parts of the couch made into a double bed w/ no pullman. It should be possible to do both at the same time to get the 5th person in
We are booked in a Family Harbour Suite. I'm guessing the couch turns into a double with the pullman from the roof. I just haven't seen any pics with the suites set-up for bedtime.
Thanks

So your cabin sleeps four? I've been trying to find a picture showing the fifth bed. I can't find any.

We are booked in 2404 in March 2017. Can you please post photos, I am curious to see how it looks with the beds down. Does your cabin sleep 5?

We sail in two weeks on the Escape, Mar 5 sailing. I have not got an email stating any shows cancelled and the show are still showing as being able to book on NCL.com. Am I going to get to these shows or not? MDQ and After Midnight?

Can someone post a link to the bridge webcams?

I suspect that a person who spends 60 minutes on a stair stepper would use the stairs.
Nope elevator straight to the buffet...

Look at renting a car or two and driving your self. It is way cheaper then any limo. Drop off is very close to the ship and the companies offer free shuttles.

Try the post-cruise ShoreEx airboat ride and gator farm. They will drop you and your luggage off at the airport after the ride.
I have done this excursion a few years ago through Carnival. It was a good trip.
How do they do the colour tags for disembarkation? Is it just random when you time will be or can you request a time? We will be in no rush to leave the ship.

Day # 3 - Sea Day # 2 - A great start to the day
Due to the time change I managed to wake up shortly after 6:00 am and decided to walk around the ship while waiting for the sunrise. I love walking around the ship early in the morning as it is a great time to take pictures.
Seat hogs out early...

Why do people buy OBC months in advance? There is no advantage to this. The exchange rate is set when you book your cruise.
Yes I am Canadian and was planning to take advantage of this loophole if it was still available when I got on board, but it is not so I won't cry about it, I knew it was coming. This is only a big deal now because our dollar has dropped a lot over the past year with the falling oil price. That makes my drive to Florida cheaper.
I am sure if this deal was available to everybody, everybody would take advantage of it.

Could the people coming in late for the shows be coming from the kids club? You can't drop kids off at the club until 7pm and that is when the shows start. I don't understand why NCL schedules it this way.
Do the shows start right at 7pm?

Are they only limiting us Canadians to $1000 OBC max or is this for all guests?
Greg

Do they charge more on the ship vs. buying them before you get on the ship?

Are all cruisers limited to $1000 OBC or only us Canadians?

What makes the POM parking safer then offsite? Do they not have "$8 an hour" workers there?
I too have been looking at the premier parking. I park at red roof inn last year with no problems.
