  1. We especially liked Rincon Iberico which is inside the Cuartel Ballaja, right outside the entrance to El Morro. Had a terrific lunch there, full meals with drinks all for $55. Awesome authentic food with an accommodating wait staff to translate the menu. Don't know if they're open for dinner, though.

  2. On Sundays it is very difficult to find a trolley seat. You also have to watch the marquee as some go on the outer loop (with the label "forts") while others go on the inner loop. The numbered stops have no bearing that we could figure out as to the order of the routes. After getting frustrated with full trolleys, we actually walked from the cruise port north to Cristobal, then west to El Morro, then back to our hotel (the Sheraton) via Fortaleza St. for some shopping. We are in our 60's and by no means great physical specimens but it wasn't bad at all.

  3. We are in St. Marten from 12:15 to 8:00 P.M. what would be the best time to get to Maho beach and see the planes and would the traffic back be very heavy around 4:00.

Can you get there by water taxi? Is that faster?

The water taxi only gets you from the cruise port to downtown on the boardwalk. To catch the bus from there head two streets inland, past Front St. to Back St., watch for a mini-van with "Maho" in the window, it's $2/person. Our trip to the beach was non-stop and only made one stop on the way back downtown. For the return trip look for a mini-van with Ph-Burg in the window.
