One thing, make sure to take the walker to muster and go early. They save a small area for us but it fills up quick. The staff kept asking for able bodied people to please let handicapped people sit but not many did. My husband stood and a young healthy woman sat down.

Carol, EZ lite was one of my choices. I went with the Geo Cruiser and have taken it for test runs. I like it and it will make a world of difference.

My husband didn't have any trouble pushing the chair. The only inconvenience was sometimes not enough room to get past the stewards cart in the hallway - I would get out and collapse it in - then I would push until clear of that. Also had to collapse it to get in the room.

I just ordered a Geo Cruiser as I wanted one that folds easily and fits in my car trunk.

I am just like your aunt. Back pain and bad knees but a wheel chair scared me and embarrassed me. I just stay home, order groceries, etc. We just got back from a cruise and hubby insisted we take a transport chair. That chair saved me. The walking to embark and debark alone would have been impossible. And I was not embarrassed. We came home and I realized I am too young (67) to just sit home and have ordered an electric wheel chair (Geo Cruiser) in bright red that folds up and can go in the car trunk. Next stop Disneyland with the grandkids.

We got the same offer for our 10/17 coastal cruise.

we have L308 booked on grand , and it does indeed have floor to ceiling windows:)
like a balcony room with no balcony...i found a great picture before,i'll see if i can find it for you;)
dave
Now I am confused. Talked to my TA and she said only the Golden has these picture windows??? How did you find out Dave? Thanks.

Try booking Oct 17th Ca Coastal, L303 or L305. The picture is of the standard window but there is an insertion about the floor to ceiling window???

Has anyone sailed in one of the staterooms with the new floor to ceiling window. It is hard to find info or pics. Found one but it says the room "should" look like this but not accurate.

Another Grand WS 311 past resident (and future). I have asthma and smoke bothers me and I had no problem in this room. Loved it.

I know S.F. has had delays in leaving port because of the slow downs. I guess the rest are facing the same things. So not fair.

We actually request the last Mini on the ship as we love the larger balcony. Can hear some bass but never has been a problem. I can't imagine anyone doing what the OP did or even posting about it.

There is a dish with potatoes in a special angled bowl topped with poached eggs and a side of hollandaise sauce. It was so good - my DH's favorite. I don't know why you could not get those potatoes instead of the potato patty.

Why are those that were involved in the handling of the Ebola patient who died going on planes and cruises?

The poached eggs served for breakfast in Sabatini's have almost always been perfectly cooked :) We found out that the secret is adding vinegar to the water used to poach the eggs. The dish is really simple but well done with one or two poached eggs served over nicely browned potato cubes. The bowl they are served in is difficult to describe but it is a footed glass bowl shaped like an oversized wine glass but the top of the bowl is cut at an angle. You can see by my attempt the dish is hard to describe, but it can be quite tasty :) Unfortunately I have only seen the dish in Sabatini's :(
This was my husbands favorite breakfast. He even searched for those serving dishes when we got home. I tried to duplicate it but just wasn't the same. I went between this and the eggs benedict. So good.

We were on Ruby in July and were able to reduce the amount taken automatically with no problem or questioning...
Why would you do this?

Don't know if this is an option but the best lobster I have had was with the ultimate balcony dinner.

This is the best perk of having a suite. Very casual in there and oh so good.

Napa Ca schools started Aug 13th. Way too soon. I remember having a full 3 months summer vacation.

We have always done the mini suite on Emerald deck but for our Alaska cruise last Sept we noticed that the Window Suites were almost the same price. We loved it so much we are going again next year in a WS.
-
We live close to S.F. and love cruising from there. We cruised Alaska last Sept on Grand and are booked on Golden for next year (August10). Saw Tracy Arm and looking forward to Glacier Bay. We did the Window Suite and loved it.
-
Golden has them too. I wish all the Grand Class had them.

We sailed in a WS to Alaska and also to NE/Canada. No noises and no one jogging upstairs that we could hear. The seas though were calm on both cruises. We will be on the Grand in Feb in a WS to Hawaii. I hear the seas can be rough so I expect noise. Not looking forward to it but at least I am forewarned.
We heard neither of these noises on our Grand to Alaska last Sept either. Please post if you hear anything on your Hawaii cruise on Grand. We are doing the same cruise next Oct.

Our favorite has always been the mini until we had a WS on Grand to Alaska. Loved that room, the location, breakfast at Sabatini's - everything. We loved it so much we booked the same for our Hawaii cruise next year. So comfortable.
Dream and hurricane
in Carnival Cruise Lines

Asking for a friend whose daughter is now on Dream. Are there any changes due to hurricane expected in the gulf this week?
