Yes in fact there is a requirement causing ships to stop in San Juan it is a international maritime law created in 1791 stating that any cruise ships traveling within 150 nautical miles must stop in Puerto Rico I believe it was to help combat piracy in the area

We had the drink package on Freedom last year. We are not whiskey drinkers but we drink Rum. We would order doubles and each time the bar tender would say I am only suppose to serve singles but they did give us our doubles every time. We also tipped extra every time so I am not sure if that had something to do with it or not. Enjoy!

Chill_10 my wife and I went on the booze cruise with a two other couples we were seated with in the dining room. We all had a lot of fun so much that all six of us missed dinner that night. After the boat makes pickups from the local hotels they head out to a snorkeling spot. We stay there for about 45 mins then got back on the boat at that time they opened the bar and had lunch. The drinks are all premixed so you just grab and go. During lunch they cruised to a small beach which I think we stayed at for about an hour. One thing to watch for is the guys on jet skis they pull up to the beach offering rides. When you get back on the boat they clear off the chair off the upper deck making it an open area for people to dance while they cruise the harbor a few times. In all it was a great time the boat was geared more towards drinking and partying. Also boat conveniently drops off and picks up near senor frogs
