We haven't rented it yet, are in the planning stage.

Does anyone know if there are car rentals near the port in Quebec? We will be dropping off a rental car and need to know if there are other places than the airport to drop it. Thanks.
-
Thank you both for the responses.

It's been a few years since we last sailed. We booked a last minute cruise for this weekend. Are we still allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine and a 6 pack of soda? I tried to find this on NCL website, but didn't succeed. Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone. I searched several times and could not find this info. Cruise Critic is always helpful for any questions, thanks again.

I could not find any information regarding bringing our own soda at embarkation. I found no alcohol is permitted to be brought on board, with the exception of 2 bottles of wine, but couldn't find any information about bringing non alcoholic beverages on board. Anyone know the current rules?

Vizcaya is lovely. Here is the link to this. Not a far Uber ride from the Port and a really nice way to spend the day.
As another poster stated, the beaches around here are beautiful if you are looking for something like that. A tour of the everglades is another option.
There are many suggestions here on threads if you do a bit of searching and reading.I'm sure the cruise line is going to offer some excursions and with your mom, some of those may be the easiest.
Vizcaya looks very nice and I think mom would have loved it! Unfortunately they are closed on Tuesdays and guess what day we will be there? Still open for more suggestions. Cruise line didn't have Miami excursions until a bit ago and currently only offering six to choose from.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I usually plan things out, am the "travel agent" for our group and don't like the unexpected change with little time to plan. So thanks again for the ideas and I welcome any others.

It's not weather that is keeping Anthem from Coco Cay, so why is it being canceled? Any other ships scheduled in the next 2 weeks being canceled, or just Anthem? We understand itinerary can be changed, but just wonder what the reason is. Also our cruise planner still says Coco Cay, so there aren't any Miami excursions listed and we only have 7 days until sailaway to sort it out. Very frustrating.
-
We were just sent an email from Royal saying that Coco Cay was replaced with Miami for our March15th cruise on Anthem. I am really disappointed to lose Coco Cay. Was looking forward to a relaxing beach day with my family, including 79 year old mother-in-law. I am looking for suggestions for things to do in Miami. Nothing too adventurous because mom has trouble getting around.

There is very little privacy on the balcony of this cabin. Anyone who walks to the front of the waterfront can look right onto your balcony. Of course this means you can also do a lot of people watching on the waterfront.

Forgot to mention that it is the Breakaway.

I currently am booked in an aft balcony on the deck 12, but recently cabins have opened up on deck 9. I have always heard how big deck 9 balconies are. Is it worth the move? Will the stability and noise from above be better down on 9? Any input would be welcome.

Looking forward to the rest of your review. Considering the repo for next year, so interested in your thoughts on flying home. I know next year it ends in San Juan instead of New Orleans. Love the Dawn, she was our first NCL ship and always makes me smile!

Now, if you're funny about the bed location, 12908 has the bed by the closet, couch by the balcony. My in-laws were in that cabin. 12906 has the bed by the balcony.
Most of the cabins I have been in have had the bed by the closet, so that will be okay with me. I see we are neighbors, I work in Tunkhannock. It is always a small world here at cruise critic.

We had an aft balcony on the Breakaway in June on deck 9. Loved everything about it! No complaints at all. It was huge and never had a problem with noise.

Thanks, I have only had the regular balcony in the past and know I want one of the larger ones. Appreciate the feedback.

In April, we had a regular (tiny) balcony. In September, I had an aft balcony (12906) on deck 12. LOVED the size of the balcony! We had 2 loungers, 2 chairs and that little side table. We did hear a little bit of the bass from Spice at night, but not enough to keep us awake. I imagine if I was up higher, there might have been a problem.
I am currently looking at 12908 so thanks for the noise information. Sounds like that deck should be fine. Still curious about the large balconies toward the front.... any other cruisers who want to share their insights?

Looking for opinions and feedback from my fellow cruisers who have experienced some of the different balconies on the breakaway. I would prefer to have a larger balcony and am considering an aft balcony or a large balcony. For those of you who have sailed in either or better yet both, what have you liked/disliked about these balconies? Which did you prefer? Is there more wind or noise with either location? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

For starters, here is the CC subforum on Travel Insurance:
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=635
But call STEVE at http://www.TripInsuranceStore.com
(don't just read the policy summaries on the website, although that will give some background; the fine print matters!)
Tell him exactly what your concerns are, and he'll find the most appropriate insurer and policy for you. (No charge to you.)
We've had very good experiences with them including, importantly, two claims paid with no nonsense, and that's what matters, after all!
Good luck.
Thank you very much, I will be sure to do that! I couldn't see the details until after I purchased a policy and didn't want to buy what wasn't needed.

This cruise is a gift for my friend, whose husband prefers not to travel. Rather than go without her, I would want to reschedule the cruise at a future date. Because I don't want to pay for a cruise we can't take, I am purchasing travel insurance. Just want to confirm that if he were to become sick ( he has had a heart attack a few years back) that the basic insurance would cover the loss or must I purchase the additional cancel for any reason clause that is on most of the plans.
-
Thank you for the responses. Yes it is just my friend and I on this trip, I am paying for the trip and just want to cover all bases. I just booked the cruise last week, so still have a few days to pick travel insurance.
-
I have decided to purchase travel insurance on my own and not through NCL. My main concern is that my friend who is traveling with me has a husband who is older and has had health issues. If he were to become ill or worse immediately before our cruise in March, what kind of coverage do I need for this kind of situation? Is it cancel for any reason or is this the kind of thing that most insurance would cover? I went to insure my trip and looked at many plans, but can only find how much would be covered, not if it is an acceptable reason. I would appreciate any feedback on this situation. Thanks in advance.

Radio, thanks for taking the time to post this review. You've done an exceptional job as always! I know that you often go above and beyond during your reviews, but this time you have even topped yourself..... not one, but two mini radios!!! Congratulations to you and of course your DD, hope all is well with everyone.

We're on the same sailing (howdy!) and just upgraded into 9730 from a regular balcony for no charge due to a price drop.
We're excited to have the extra room, and we will definitely be requesting loungers. DH likes to nap in the room, so now I can take my naps out in the fresh air.
Howdy Alliekat! We were thinking about making the switch, but we love the location of our current cabin. Even though we would love the extra balcony space, we don't like the exposed balconies. So it was 2 to 1 to stay put.
Thanks to everyone for the responses, it really helped us to make our decision.
