  1. Good morning. We have a cruise coming up that includes our whole family.  So for our stop at Coco Cay, I splurged and for the first time signed up for a cabana in the Thrill Water Park. There are 8 of us. I have read here that most of the time the extra people are okay. My question is how much do you tip your cabana attendant? Obviously, I would like to be generous as we have the extra people. Do you tip on a per person basis?  Do you think $40 would be an appropriate amount ($5/person). Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Good afternoon everybody. Quick question. We are sailing Adventure of the Seas in March on the 6-night sailing. Does anyone know what the main theater show times are?  We are a group of 7 and the early MTD times are already taken. So how late to book (within reason 😀 ) dining in order to see the complete early show.

    from Marinelink :

Distinctive ship features and new experiences include:

    • The Retreat, an exclusive resort-within-a-resort area for suite guests, highlighted by a two-story sundeck.
    • Accommodations for modern tastes from modern two-story villas with private plunge pools to staterooms with infinite verandas, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.
    • An expanded Rooftop Garden and stunning Resort Deck featuring unique cantilevered float pools.
    • A multi-level, multi-terraced Sunset Bar at the ship’s aft.
    • An expanded onboard entertainment program featuring a transformative nightlife experience on the Resort Deck, six new live productions, interactive gaming experiences, and more.
    • A redesigned casino floor and brand-new games.
    • A new outdoor dining terrace at Blu, the brand’s clean cuisine restaurant for Aqua Class guests, available for al fresco daytime dining.
    • A newly designed Le Voyage by Chef Daniel Boulud.
    • And, the return of the Magic Carpet, an engineering feat soaring cantilevered above the sea, offering guests uninterrupted vistas while sipping cocktails or having dinner.

Most Interesting was the description of BLU  having an  outdoor dining terrace.." available for al fresco daytime dining"

Hmm wonder if it will be lunch for AQ Class only, or available to all...for extra charge???

Diamond on Royal. Now looking at Celebrity. I’ve heard good things about the Garden and Resort Deck. Are these available to all or are they ‘For Fee’ areas?  TIA

FB groups have taken over- they are MUCH bigger than any current Roll call on this page, and they are able to schedule events and activities right on the group. My last cruise had over 1000 people on the page, and a meet and greet on day 1 had at least a few hundred of them pop up for at least a minute or two.

I agree. I am on the Roll Call here and also on the FB group. It would really be nice if RCI would combine the 2 groups for M&M’s.

Main thing I've found is get off early as soon as you can. Enjoy the morning and early afternoon and watch it get steady more busy then when you have had enough leave and again avoid the masses back to the ship.

The people who moan it's over crowded are the ones looking for a place to sit at 11.30am.

I’m sorry, but if you can’t find a seat, no matter what time it is, it’s very crowded. Last November we got to the island at 10:30. It took us 30 minutes to find a spot.

If you are new to RCI, they always have a “sale” going on. The only one(s) I have seen that were beyond the usual sales going on is Black Friday(s) sales.

We have been sailing Royal for over 40 years. People seem to be missing the sarcastic tone of the post.

Did a mock-booking last week and another today and cruise fares for 1&2 went down (3 & 4 stayed same) but 'taxes and fees' for all raised?  I thought taxes and fees were CONNECTED to the the fare and location and the port locations have not changed?

When is your cruise?  The Bahamas are making a significant raise to their port fees for cruises starting Jan 1st. This could be the difference.

  8. We picked a spring break cruise for the family. We were challenged by dates for my grandson. We got a good price on Adventure. But now as I am looking here, I don’t see Sorrento’s Pizza. All I see, as far as complimentary dining, is the Main Dining Room, Windjammer, and Cafe Promenade. Is there a Sorrento’s on board?  Does Cafe Promenade offer pizza?  Thank you.

Connect to the ships free Wi-Fi for using the RC App. Three dots in the upper right hand corner. Just a note, minors cannot use the app due to laws and it will not allow them no matter what you do. IMO, it sucks as it does not give you any notifications and you need to keep checking it for messages.

Do you happen to know the age limit. I thought it was 13. We will be traveling with 2 15 year olds. Will they be able to use this?
