  1. Can someone confirm number and type outlets in Oasis deck 6 Oceanview Cabins (ours is 6636 Accessible). There is conflicting info that configuration has been changed since  built. Policy not allowing extra extension cords and adaptors causing stress. Scooter, fridge and other medical equipment requires some problem solving. I have seen pic of a round 3 outlet set up (1/220) on desk now but that is not what was in cabin when built. On Allure in May, there also was an outlet under desk, but it  powered the outlets above. Not sure if cabins and decks vary.  Is there an outlet under the desk on Oasis still? If so, is it used to power the outlet above and how many outlets are there? Thanks!

  2. As the above post shows, you are not supposed to but some people do it anyway. On the other hand, Royal Caribbean provides wedges to prop the door open for people with scooters on some ships and not on others. If you come back to your room and you do not have a wedge and nobody is with you to hold the door, then you cannot get the scooter in and out so you have to leave it in the corridor.

Ask for a door stop if one not already in cabin. They will happily supply. I experienced this. I admit it is not easy to get a scooter into accessible cabin without assistance. Must prop door open first to drive scooter in. It is impossible to hold door open and drive in. Halls are much too narrow to leave a scooter out in them.

  3. If you have a doctors note you can even fly with the distilled water. Call TSA also. They will usually place you in special line and will reserve the right to open that distilled water if cannot be sure of source but that should not be a problem. If notified ahead TSA is great but if they send you an email confirmation, carry a copy with you. Likely the ship will be able to provide this but I would not count on at this late date. I travel with Saline IVs and all the supplies needed to go with it and found TSA the easiest people I had to deal with by far after calling them ahead. They put me in a special line, searched all my medical luggage and my wait was even shorter than if I had gone through the regular line. I had documentation on all medically necessary fluids and special equipment with me.

  4. Warning on Allure larger decorations even with strong magnets were an issue due to the curving of the door. Smaller ones were fine. Same with the small dry erase board/ had to place beside the door because kept falling off. Might want to find what kind of door the ship you will be sailing on has, a flat one is no problem.

  5. OP was back but after typing very long explanation to everything went to post and glitch to computer/ internet/or site twice and gone was my post.Getting up the energy to do over as so much info. HC cabin, will get back but dealing with side effects of severe neck issues due to having to try to turn neck (mine does not turn) to back scooter out of the minuscule elevators which upped my pain severely during cruise and after and dealing with many Dr appointments to fix. When a log post disappears twice is discouraging so getting up energy to reply to all said.

  6. On Allure a week ago chips on any night were hard to come by in Park Cafe or Cafe Promenade. I went looking for them for the grandkids, so I know. Also only sealed items can go off ship in ports so those with dietary issues need to get earlier. So unless you order bags of chips from room service at night, the only salty option is the tiny popcorn sold in the theatre for $2.50. Believe it or not the same kids not very interested in eating at their 5:30 dinner time wanted snacks to munch later. We made sure to grab apples and other fruit for when they did need a snack, as well as cookies etc... and learned to have chicken, cheese, and raw vegetables and dip (packages of ranch dressing from Sorentos or from room service). The little ones actually became grumpy because they were so distracted at dinner they did not realize they were hungry, we learned to race to pre-feed them at windjammer before went to dinner. After 9pm there is actually very little food available on the ship to eat. Had the head waiter not taken such good care to send needed items to my cabin I would have had a problem. I needed to eat late at night with medication and most days only can eat one real meal. So yes, without some preplanning some of us could go hungry on a cruise ship. But my head water Daniel Calin spoiled me and my DH and now I keep thinking there should be someone here to provide for my needs just for the asking. Next time a B to B.
