  1. Can't wait for your updates! 😁 We get on Regal in Galveston when you debark and will be our first time on Princess so looking forward to your pics.  Fyi:  I hope you asked the Flight Attendant to take her picture.  It's against FAA regulations to photograph crew members unless they approve.  Glad you liked her and had a safe flight!

  2. I always buy the bubbles package. You are charged the 15% grat up front. No other charges except when you first board and before you are actually in international waters they charge a tax per drink, usually 15cents or so a drink. Definitely worth it for me! It's not like the Cheers pkg where both adults in cabin have to purchase. I now purchase before we board because it's a little cheaper and then they just put a sticker on my card at any bar

  3. I have the tervis from the Red Frog Bar and take it on every cruise. Yes it is expensive originally, about $10 plus 15percent grat. I think they give you a discount for the 1st drink (?). But from then on, you can get it filled with what ever you are ordering. You don't get a discount but you get a few more ounces for free. For example, most alcoholic drinks are 12oz and the cup is 16oz so you pay the price for 12oz, yet you are getting 16oz. I have used the same cup over and over and not once have I ever been questioned whether I purchased the cup that cruise or not. So basically I'm getting 4 more oz's for each drink! It's been worth it to me. But this was way before Yeti/Rtic cups which I love!!!

  4. Brianna, been reading your reviews for couple years now and love all of them! Please forgive me if I read this wrong, but I gather that you lost your dad? I loved seeing all your cruise reviews with your Dad!:(

So sorry if I understood this correctly. I lost my dad last year and it's been tough. My husband and I cruise 2-3 times a year and love reading your reviews. I wish there was some way I could send you my email or something....my prayers go out to you and your mom because it's hard but you will make it and he would want you to continue to do the things that you enjoyed doing together!!! :):)

  5. That was our experience on the Jewel last November. I only knew to try the MDR because of reading this forum. DH and I visited the MDR within thirty minutes of boarding. It was wonderfully quiet and we were seated at a window table. That was probably our favorite dining experience because we were so excited and happy --taking photos of the menu ---and loving the food.

We will try that again on the Jade in eight days. :D

We will be on the same cruise with you from AR! My 1st NCL cruise, we normally cruise Carnival so this will be exciting and new for me! See you there, I'll be by the pool everyday...prob with blue lens sunglasses!:D:cool:

  6. Frozen Toasted Almond $11.35 (grat/svc charge included)

    Pino Grigio $9.38

    Stolichnaya Sea Breeze $11.21

    Coors Light $7.67

    1 Liter Water Bottle $5.84

Grey Goose L'Ora Frozen $14.10 (not sure what this drink was ;))

    Prosecco by the glass $11.74

    Bud Light 18 oz. $8.09

These prices are from our Breakaway sailing November 1st, 2015.

    Cheers!

We had the free UBP with grats included. Added up all receipts and felt we came out ahead.

    Have a great cruise!

P.S. Bottled water NOT included in UBP

Thanks! I believe I made a smart decision going with the UBP! From what I looked up, drinks are covered up to $15 That's pretty good!

  7. If you have sailed with NCL before, the bar prices are now approx 10-20% higher than before March this year.

Thanks for the info! No, never cruised with NCL but that pretty much answered my question.....go ahead and get drink pkg!

I qualify for a discounted rate but can't get drink pkg so we will probably pay full rate and go with the UDP! Thanks again for the replies!!! Definitely helped me decide!:D

  8. Chipolte Pineapple Passionfruit Margarita! It's a frozen drink from the Blue Iguana Bar and it is the best drink I've ever had!!!! I had read about it before my last Feb '15 cruise and was not disappointed. I told everyone that would listen and everyone, including the beer drinkers, loved it! I noticed several people kept on ordering it the rest of the cruise.

I also love the Twilight Zone, if I am restricted to the regular menu.

  9. :DThanks a lot for your help! I finally found some photos on internet and am thinking it might be a better idea to just move forward on Lido deck. The photos & comments said that the bathroom is larger but less closet space which we really need.

I also would like to know if there are Fridges in all the cabins, if anyone knows. I had never been a room without one until I was on the Sunshine and we really like to have one.

  10. We are thinking of booking 9292 or 9285 on the Freedom. It's on Lido, near pool which we like but am a little concerned about the noise from traffic to and from pool & food. Also, does anyone know what is behind the four cabins? It looks like a box when I look up deck layout so I can't tell what it is. If anyone has stayed in these cabins on Freedom or similar ship, please let me know your experiences. There are a few other interior Lido cabins up toward the front of ship so we do have other options. Just would love to hear your opinions, good and bad:eek: Thanks!!!!

  11. I take one, plastic about 6 in, I keep it in the box until we get in our cabin. I read a while back that it's best to put it in your carry-on luggage, that way if they question it, you can explain why you need it. No one has ever even taken a second look at it. I'm sure they are more interested in the soda/wine etc that would be packed in my carry on. No one would want to take away a 50 yr old woman's fan!!!!

  12. I also love fountain sodas! The Sunshine had fountain at the bars on lido but the Dream & Magic only have cans (that's all I've seen). Maybe there is a bar on board that has fountain but I've not seen it. I agree with previous post, last stop before boarding is a fountain drink stop and 1st stop after getting off the ship is a fountain drink stop!!! Yes, I'm addicted!
