  1. My Husband and I renewed our Vows on our last P&O cruise they wanted to charge £499 so over $600 !! we thought no way are we paying that so we just renewed them between each other on our Balcony and it was lovely  , my husband had his tri pod and camera and we even had pictures , we then spent the money we would have used on making more memories  doing activities while on the cruise instead

I absolutely love their vegetarian menus on Princess .. they are surprisingly good!  Even though I love love love blue cheese, I haven’t seen any of their vegetarian dishes prepared with it.

so do they have a specific separate Vegetarian menu? and do you ask to just see this each day or do you need to pre order it?

  3. What "special " menus can you request in the MDR ?  Vegetarian/ vegan , Indian menu ,  , Gluten free Childrens etc  And if they have these special menus do you need to pre request for dietary requirements? or can you request to see these menus each day?

I mainly eat  and prefer Vegetable based  meals and these were really limited on our last cruise with P&O (the worst choice of any cruise ive been on so far) so to have more choice of dishes to choose from would be great , I will on occasion  eat chicken dishes if there isnt a Veg dish I like as I dont like blue cheese and for some reason vegetarian dishes often have blue cheese in them

Ask for the Indian Food menu!  I never knew it existed but a family next to us was having some amazing looking butter chicken.

Can anyone ask for this menu? or do you need to pre book it?

using the Princess transfer to airport I believe is around $39.00 each

I would think it would be cheaper to take a taxi/uber to Best Western and then see if they have free shuttle to the airport for your flight

Thanks for reply , you miss read my post we Do already have a Princess Transfer Im asking where this drops you off ? and if its easier to get a taxi rather than the airport transport to our hotel

  6. Hello we have a Transfer from the ship to the airport , does the transfer drop each lot of  passengers at the correct terminal for their flights or everyone in one place together?

We have an evening flight so have booked a hotel day room so we are not stuck in the airport All day so just wondering where the transfer drops us and would it be easier to get a taxi after being dropped off or use the airport transport? seems a big airport with lots of walking in between areas  like the Mono rail and P4 area we need to get to the Best Western Plus Newark Airport West

In 2018, we took the Princess transfer from the port to the airport (Newark) and it was fine. We also had a late afternoon flight and it seemed like a FOREVER wait. You will be able to sign up for your disembarking time, indicating that you are on a Princess transfer. You will need to indicate your flight time.

Our TA seems to think we dont get to choose a time its when Princess wants us off and possibly between 9-10am

  8. Hello we are cruising with Princess for the first time , New York to New England and Canada round trip.

Our TA has booked us a princess transfer on disembarking however it doesnt say which area of NY we will be docked in does anyone know?

Also our flight isnt until 7pm so what  time do you need to be out of your cabins ? Emerald Princess ship ? and what  sort of time could we expect our Transfer ?

Im a bit concerned we will be stuck in the Airport from Early morning so if this could be the scenario im looking at hopefully booking a Day hotel room at Newark Airport has anyone done this before?

  9. Thanks for all your input we have now decided to take the risk in booking a Guarantee Deluxe as the price difference was only £50 , if we unfortunately do end up in a noisy position we will just need to take advantage of the included drinks package 🙂 we are not going until 2023 but excited already , this will be our first with Princess as our 2022 was cancelled due to re deployment of our ship

  10. Hi All looking at booking the Regal Princess Deck 8 , I dont mind obstruction but quiet and no smoking from the deck below is a consideration

so if smoking is still allowed on the Prom deck 7 is it just 1 area of this deck? on 1 side?  or all over?

    odd or evven cabin side?

trying to see which cabins to avoid

  11. Hi All looking at booking the Regal Princess the cost between Obstructed and un obstructed is quite wide so we are looking at the obstructed as a preference cost wise

These are deck 8 so who has had experience of a good cabin to book please? Im not so bothered about obstruction however a position where the cabin is quiet is a must

some on the  deck plan look a good choice but deck plans are often a bit off in positioning so any input from past cruisers is more beneficial especially any cabins to totally avoid

I agree that most of the late 2020 to early 2021 cruises will likely be cancelled, as covid is still out of control.

In terms of MSC contacting you, all I can write is "LOL".  I was on a 4 night out of Barcelona.  They changed it to 20+ nights out of Brazil, changed every port and even changed the date.  Yep, no notification whatsoever.  Just happened to notice when I reviewed my booking.

Just this week, they change the ship of a cruise out of Rome, moved it a week or so earlier (I had a hotel but fortunately it's refundable) and cancelled my cabin, moving me into a GUAR.  Yep, once again, zero notification.

We here in the UK would benefit from the update on cancellations that have been made for early 2021 that have been updated on the US website since December 3rd here in the UK NOT a single word about it

If you're just using NY as a connecting center to fly somewhere else, there is no quarantine required of you. So just find a flight that goes through NY and you can continue on anywhere. https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory#:~:text=Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order,of their last contact

Thanks but as we are flying from the UK we are still unable to to enter the US for a holiday , We also wouldnt want a connecting flight as direct flights of 10 hours are bad enough .

We just want options for us to fly somewhere non US . Do you have the link to the search you mentioned previous please ?

Yesterday we had some luck with delta as they have updated their terms and agreed to an E credit we can use upto February 2022  so we are thrilled with this as we have 2 weeks holiday in June free as weve moved that planned cruise to 2022, so maybe if Covid has died down and its safe and  we are allowed we will go then if not it will be February 2022

Just happy now we have not lost a lot of money

Can you try to get someone on the phone to see if they'll let you rebook through one of their partner sites (Alitalia, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Air France, etc)? The other option is to wait for them to potentially change the flight on you. If they change the flights, you're often entitled to a cancellation/rebooking without fees - even if it's just a minor change most times.

Just doing a quick search for flights out of London on Delta, you could fly to San Juan PR, Punta Cana DR, Aruba, Tokyo.... lots of places. Why do you think your only option is to fly to the US for your holiday?

Because when I searched using their search tool it only gave me US options, and when I asked them on Twitter they could give me no alternatives  isnt San Juan PR a US territory ? so we cant go there and when I searched Aruba it stopped in the USA on the way so that would be no good either

can you please post the link to the search for all of the places you found because I only had this one

This will not be a popular post and I am sure I will be immediately attacked, but I am giving you an on the ground report of the situation here in Florida.

Covid 19 is out of control in Florida. There are no statewide pandemic controls and local municipalities or businesses are hamstrung in putting in place any controls by the state government.

Projection of case numbers by a local University of South Florida MD/epidemiologist projects 15,000 new cases a day by the middle of January.

We hit 10,000 new cases one day last week.

There is no realistic ways that the disease will be brought under control in the next few months and that cruising will start again from Florida ports anytime soon.

Various cruise lines have cancelled cruises from Florida for January and February or March.

I expect cruises in April and, perhaps May, to follow suit.

While we will hopefully have a vaccine soon, it will take time to vaccinate anyone who will be willing to have the immunization.

Florida state government has already stated that immunization will not be mandatory. To paraphrase Blanche DuBois, we will be "depended in the intelligence of strangers" to decide to be immunized.

So the question is, even if you are allowed to fly into Florida, are you willing to play Covid roulette?

Thanks for your view , and in answer to you NO we dont want to fly to Florida  we dont really want to come to the US  at all if we can fly into the USA then the only place we would go is Delaware to see friends, we would however much prefer a refund or dont even mind an  e credit that we could actually use

And your post and views are what is happening in much of the US  from whats been reported which is why I am angry with Delta in not allowing us a refund or an extension on an e credit into the Autumn of 2021 or early 2022  . We basically at the moment have a worthless  ticket as we are not allowed entry into the USA even if we wanted to , to us over £1000 is a lot of money to lose unfortunately we might not have much choice on the matter and just have to right it off

That is terrible. If you end up being forced to take a land holiday let us know. I'm sure there are many forum members who are familiar with Florida area and would be more than happy to help you put together something last minute.

thank you , we dont mind taking a land holiday Ive already done lots of research for if we can  I didnt realise how close Grand Bahama is too  I actually got quite excited looking at alternatives to a cruise My fear  though is that we still wont be allowed to enter the USA . Unfortunately we booked flights with Delta Airlines and they only fly to the US from the UK so even though we can change our flight destination it doesnt help as we are not American citizens

I still haven't received an email regarding my cancelled trip on the Meraviglia for 1/16/21. My booking number no longer exists on their website, and in the top right corner it says 40 days until you sail - but then there is no actual trip under my account.

I reached out to them via email, and their response: "Thank you for contacting MSC Cruises. It might be easier to discuss details via a phone, please give us a call at 877-665-4655."

    That sounds ominous...

I'm just trying to confirm from them directly that I have no cruise before I go and fight with the airlines for a credit that I'll never get to use. At least our flight from JFK to Miami was dirt cheap if we end up losing that.

We have not heard anything about our 7th February cruise or our 13th February cruise , We have flights booked to Miami from the UK and we cant get a refund , we are not even sure by February we will even be allowed to enter the USA to take a land holiday instead,  we may end up losing all our money over £1000

Oh no..... that is terrible. I suspect you can't start the cancellation process until MSC admits they have cancelled. I'm sorry you are put in this position. I hope they return your money promptly.

No we cant start the process and we are already waiting for 2 other cancelled cruise refunds its almost 5 months now and no refund  , im not even sure where they are actually upto month wise in the ones they have refunded so far . We know we will get it eventually its just a very long wait

They are getting better- only one day behind the big 3.

Not here in the UK as usual we are kept in the dark there has been no updates on this here not on the MSC website and travel agents have not been informed either , as far as we are told and our bookings still state the cruises are going ahead
