  1. It was a holiday weekend in UAE to celebrate Mohommads Birthday, guess the port authority choose to work overtime Friday night to have Saturday off work. This is a major holiday in UAE and even five star hotels are "dry" out of respect.

I was on this cruise and the officers were devistated with the chaotic Abu Dhabi immigration. We were on deck 9 and not called to disembark until well after midnight, missed the late show which I believe was ultimately cancelled due to constant captains announcements.

Felt sorry for the crew who were dragged out of bed in the early hours and still had to service ad breakfast with a smile and clean the cabins.

  2. Totally agree that it is all about the balcony! We are just back from an Arabian adventure fortnight when we had the middle aft balcony on Connie as my DH is in a wheelchair, fantastic wih all the extra space.

When on board we booked two future cruises and I now need a recommendation for a US based travel agent who can take over the reservation and who can monitor my booking and price changes as the UK agents do not do this. Any tips or referrals very gratefully received. I would also like a travel agent who will offer me an additional OBC. :)

  3. Celebrity staff in London have offered me a drinks package and OBC to compensate for some issues we have had while dealing with our original booking agent.

How will I see this credit before my cruise or do I just wait and see what is loaded on my sea pass. I really would like confirmation before we sail.

  4. I live near Valencia and can advise that buses leave from near the port and taxis are cheap and metered. Taxi may have a fixed cost from the port but will be good value.

There is a HOHO bus but I would recommend walking around the old town and indoor market on your own as it is a very easy city to navigate with all points of interest close by. The port is part of the city so no long distances by bus or taxi.

  5. Many thanks for the valued answers. We are aware of the changes to rupees this week in India and have previously travelled extensively in the country. Our trip this time is very quiet.

This is the first time with a mobility issue and while I am happy to stay on board if we have to, it would be great if I can walk or catch a shuttle to the port entrance ànd hire a taxi for a couple of hours. I would then get the taxi to go back to the ship to collect my husbànd as we can not take his electric wheelchair in taxis and maybe not on shuttle buses.

Basically I just want to have a drive around the immediate area and have lunch on shore. Happy for a taxi for the whole time but question is about how to pay. I live in Europe so only have a few US$, could bring Euros but ideally I would like to withdraw cash from an Indian ATM machine close to the port. If reccommended on his board, I will buy US $ in advance and pay in a forgein currency which might be preferred at this time due to the changes to Indian banknotes this week.

Any points of interest near the ports would be appreciated, or restaurants. Many thanks in advance

  6. We are travelling to India on Constellation in December and would like to know if we can get Indian rupees from an ATM at any ports.

We will be visiting Mangalore, Goa and Mumbai and plan to hire a taxi for a short tour as my husband is in a wheelchair and cannot travel on a tour.
