  1. Our favorite cabin is the OV on the rivière deck. We try for a cabin just inside the bank of elevators, about 5 cabins in. There are no noises from below, above and the elevators. You ride the elevators quite a bit from this deck though.

I know that is the biggest downfall in my eyes about decks 1 & 2. We love 2 down fro Lido bc we seldom use the elevators. I think the extra space will be worth it with the little one though! Maybe by our next cruise with him he'll be big enough for he bunk!

  2. I haven’t had any issues with noise from below with the exception of aft where you have the engines. But I like it back there. Also very forward you can have the sounds of the waves crashing against the hull, but that’s all the way forward. It is quiet under the dining room. I have stayed there quite a few times. Deck 1 is still my favorite.

Thank you! I like AFT for some reason too.

  3. Don’t know which ship you’re thinking about but I prefer Deck 1. There are cabins above you so you don’t have to be as careful as on Deck 2. I am taking about Conquest Class ships.

Most likely the Triumph but we aren't 100% sure yet! I looked at the deck plans and you are right deck 1 would mean all cabins above. I'm just not sure what is below? I assume the crew quarters and engines obviously. Is that noisy and would you feel the engine much? If I went with deck 2 it looks like aft may be the quietest to sleep as it is just the dining room above.

  4. Typically I like to be 2 decks down from Lido. It’s a nicequick walk up the stairs to everything I want to do all day and at nighttime it’snestled between cabin floors and not very loud.

I’m planning a cruise with a 3 year old and since we don’twant to put him on a bunk bed or a trundle in an interior we’re going to bookan ocean view (not considering a balcony). I don’t know which floor to book!

    Any advice?

  5. I was contemplating an ocean view BUT I really like to be on deck 7/8 so that brought me to an interior. However, my son will be 3 and putting him on an upper bunk probably isn't going to work. My husband and I aren't climbing up there either. Are there any other alternatives for sleeping in an interior that I don't know about? This is on the Triumph.

  6. When you say you are uncomfortable with a local driver, are you referring to a taxi driver? There are other options for getting to Horseshoe Bay Beach. The public bus drops you a short walk from the beach, or a mini-bus takes you right to the beach. Going by either enables you to decide when to go for yourself and how long you stay at the beach.

The public buses depart every 30 minutes and the mini-buses depart as they fill.

I just mean anyone that is not Carnival. It's just my own personal rule that if I have not been there before I stick with a Carnival excursion. I feel more comfortable doing that.

  7. Going on a 4 day cruise to Bermuda from NYC....

    Day 1 at Sea

    Day 2 in Bermuda

    Day 3 at Sea

    Day 4 in NYC

I'd like to make a specialty dining reservation but don't want to miss elegant night in the MDR. Which night of my cruise do you think will be elegant night? This is my first cruise less than 7 days so it's hard for me to predict. Thanks!

  8. I’m going on a 4 day cruise. So, if we purchase cheers itshould be close to $400. Does anyone know why it only comes to $344.66 when Iadd it to my cart on Carnival’s website? Am I doing something wrong?

Never mind I just figured it out. I am leaving from NYC and they can't start cheers until day 2. I don't think I'll get it for this cruise in that case.

  9. Couple of questions:

Can you ask for a bottled beer unopened so it can be taken back to your room and enjoyed at a later time?

I bring a Hydroflask (32 ounce thermos type container) that I enjoy for being spill-proof and insulated. How would I manage to have this filled with a couple of vodka shots and cranberry juice using Cheers?

If you get a bucket of beer they don't open them all. My dad has never gotten cheers before but loves his buckets lol. When he doesn't drink them all he brings them back to his room. I don't know if you can get a bucket with cheers.

  10. You can buy 12 bottles of water for 4.50, 24 bottles for 9.00, etc and have delivered to your room, so including that in price comparison seems silly to me, but that is just my opinion lol

For a week's long cruise we usually buy 2 12-packs of water and have them delivered to our room. If we do end up going with cheers we won't do that this cruise.

  11. You have been on cruises before... Have you normally spent 100.00 a day per couple on those other cruises for your drinks, water and coffee? If so, then its worth it.. If not, then you are paying more then you normally would for these items, which is exactly what carnival is looking for.

No. First couple of cruises I wasn't a drinker. One I was pregnant. Then I started having a drink or two per cruisr. Last cruise I drank more frequently and every cruise I've probably had 2 specialty coffes per day plus many bottles of water.

  12. Oh boy....It's popcorn time!

Cheers! discussions are VERY subjective. I've heard it's more like 6 drinks to break even. And you'll get responses on how to skirt the rules, etc.

Now, if I were on a shorter-day cruise (i.e. booze cruise), it might have some merit. But, the cost becomes prohibitive (at least for us) on longer (7 day or more) cruises.

    Have fun reading the responses.

LOL I know, def popcorn time! It's actually a 4 day cruise I'm asking about!
