    Hi,.  I

Going on the Getaway in a couple of months.  Trying to figure out if I can use multiple credits cards to settle the final bill. If so, what is the max?

I used roughly 20 or so visa credit/debit giftcards to make the initial reservation thru an agent.  According to the agent he said I should be able to do the same when I settle the final bill after the cruise.

    Thanks!

If you go to Guest Services you should not have any issues.  I strongly recommend not waiting until last night. It's usually pretty busy.

I ticked off the box that asked if your were military and got none of that 😞

You need to be registered with ID.Me through NCL (prior to booking) in order to receive the discount.

  3. I'm a little confused about the closest parking lots to the Breakaway terminal.  When I read the information on the NCL wite about parking it references a few lots.

Which one have you found to be the closest or easiest?

And if we depart on Sunday and return Friday morning is that 5 or 6 days parking? I see rates anywhere from $10 to $18. ??

    Thank you in advance.

  4. We have 4 of us sailing and we are sharing a room. One of us does not drink. I know the rules are that if one buys the Cheers package, everyone in room must buy it.

My question is this.. if we wait until we board to purchase it at the higher rate, what is the chance that only 3 of us will be allowed to purchase it and the 4th person be excluded? I hate to pay $300 for someone who doesn't drink but it would be more economical for the rest of us rather than paying individually. TIA for your suggestions.

  5. Hey there, thanks for any help.

We got the all-inclusive alcohol package, but how does it actually function on the ships? I have sailed Disney before only and basically everyone has a card (like a credit card) that the carry around with them. Waiters will then come up (or you can go to the bar) to see what drink you need. You then "pay" for the drink with the card, sign a receipt, and at the end of the cruise you were charged.

With the all-inclusive drink package, will it basically work the same except that at the end of the cruise you are not charged? Will the waiters already know that their tip is included?

Also, since I have you here and you are nice[emoji14]Will the 3 speciality dinners included package (also a freebe) work the same way? You "pay" for your dinner with the card but at the end of the cruise you are not charged. We would still, I assume, pay gratuity for those specialty dinners?

    Thanks so much!

Like others have said, you do not have to pay but they will ring up your card for their purposes. As for tipping we tip the same as we would at a bar. Especially to those that go above and beyond and you will know the connection right away.we usually give them $1 per drink but not necessarily with "every" drink unless we really like their service then yes, every drink.. They get to keep the cash for themselves but tipping on receipts is shared amongst everyone.

Enjoy the package it's worth it.

  6. We board the Jewel tomorrow. Has anyone been on a New Year Eve cruise and if so, does the ship pass out hats, horns, tiaras or any celebratory items? Trying to decide what to take.

Also if you've been on the Jewel, any tips? Is there one bar or venue that is more fun than others/

    TIA

  7. I put all my information in my computer under my trip file in case I need it while gone.

I put a printed page of where I will be going in my luggage on the top of where I am going, ship and Itinerary....Tags ripped off and I use 3 tags on my bags.

I print one to come home and place it also IN my luggage....Tags can be ripped off.

I scan my passport and reduce the size to credit card size then laminate it so I can slip it into my lanyard for ID or if needed and leave my original in the safe in my cabin.

These huge ships are made from different materials with the lower decks made of steel and the upper decks made of aluminum.

I take my own hand sanitizer and also pick up a can of Lysol then spray down everything in the cabin starting with every door handle, closet door, fridge,

drape pole, toilet handle and the TV remote. You get the message.

I only use plastic glasses in the cabin unless I wash them personally.

I do the same with trip info in luggage and my passport and leave original on ship. I learned that at a travel seminar. Thanks for tips.

  8. Cheerleader response: I often wonder if there's an organized effort to slander NCL on cruise critic. I see and read all the negativity, and when I step on board the ships I just don't get it. Some of the negativity is so embellished it's humorous (imho).

That may be a good explanation. I noticed recently a lot of negative remarks. So much so, I don't log on to CC as much anymore. I have found another outlet on FB and the posts there are informative and mostly positive. The Escape seems to be getting pummeled with negative remarks (mostly over Margaritaville). We've taken numerous NCL cruises and have yet to have bad service. I don't expect to on our cruise coming up Jan. 2nd on the Escape either. Some of the complaints seem petty to me so I've learned to keep on scrolling.

  9. Lorelie didn't want to open a new ship. I think she likes the Getaway. Clarence(chocolate cowboy) is on the Escape though too.

I don't think we've met Clarence but I'm sure we will :) I heard she didn't like opening new ships and I guess I can't blame her. But we will miss her tho.

  10. Yep. He's one of the reasons we booked the Escape. The ships are nice, but it's the crew that's makes the biggest difference.

We agree! The crew definitely makes a cruise more fun. As long as you aren't a demanding person, they are usually fun. I wish Lorelie was also on the Escape. We had a blast between Bong, her and Rod on the Getaway.

  11. Bong is on the Escape!?!? HURRAY! He made our nights on the Getaway -- I drank more Mojitos than I should because of him. He also treated my daughter like gold even though she is too young to drink. Just LOVE him!!

We just love Bong too! We were even more excited once we found out he'll be on the Escape. This will be our 4th cruise with him.

  12. Wow, Stephen, I hadn't thought if it that way. I'm exhausted just reading all they had to do recently! Hopefully, they'll get back into their normal routine!

    Harriet

I've been following them and yes, it seemed like they had a lot of activity since they have been officially underway. I'm sure things will become "normal" after they get a few cruises under their belt. There's always things to work out on anything New. We are booked for Jan. 2nd and can't wait. It's one reason we waited to sail instead of trying to be on one of the initial cruises.

The crews on these ships work very hard and in case anyone hasn't noticed lately, in the real world it's a daily occurence that people seem to have an expectation that is sometimes hard to meet.

I have no doubt the reviews will get better. :)
