  1. I am going to sail the Serenade of the Seas next summer, and it is my first time onboard this ship, I have some questions.

    • I sailed Voyager and Allure before, both were very nice, Allure maybe a little bit crowded but very cool places inside, Voyager smalled but better details, what can I expect onboard the Serenade regarding my previous ones? 🙂
    • Can we check online the shows and the entertainment on board? before boarding I mean. Just like in the airlines.
    • Is it allowed to take food out from the ship? from the Windjammer café for example during days of long excursions, as it is included in the cruise fares, just like some hotels do. A kind of self picnic.🥪
    • About St Petersbourg... companies that organize excursions? cheap ones if possible.
    • If a ship stays in a port for example from 7am to 6pm...these timetables are the time the ship departs and arrives from/to the port, or the time passengers can get in and out the ship?
    • Everything you can tell me about this ship and route is welcome!!

    Thanks in advance.  😉

  2. So are they making cutbacks? I though it was just each ship has their own rules, gifts and habits.

I made 2 cruises, one in Europe in 2009 (Voyager OTS) and the second in Western Caribbean in 2011. (Allure OTS)

I remember the first one as much more "detailed" as someone said before we had chocolates on the pillow, and before serving us the dinner we always had some bread and different types of cheeses and patés while waiting for the dishes.

We didn't have this in the second cruise in 2011.

  3. I am not sure about the time in the middle but the taxi thing... maybe not possible because guides know how many people they have in the group and count them before going back to the ship, because if someone from an excursion is missing I am not sure if the ship can leave the port.

Maybe you can ask there or talk with the guide and explain it in that case you can get a taxi.

  4. DW and I were spoiled to have our 1st Meet and Mingle experience be the BEST EVER. It was on our Baltic Cruise 27 May 2012. The folks were so kind and helpful on these boards and when we met in person, it was like having ol' friends on the ship to run into and say hello!

Exactly!! you cruise without knowing anybody but after some messages on forum and the MM party you have your known ones and people you feel like you know better.
