  1. Hi Ken, weā€™re also on the cruise with you. Weā€™re suite/Elite, turned in our laundry the same day you did and havenā€™t gotten it back yet. Ā We expect to get it back today. I agree, the CP is in good shape. The food and the crew has been fantastic so far.Ā
Iā€™ve been following you since you started this thread Ā and am enjoying all your posts. Your photos from Montreal matched mine exactly.Ā šŸ˜€

So your cabin was upgraded AND that included a "no cover charge" dinner? Do tell.

Apparantly, suites get a free Crown or Sabbatinis dinner on embarkation day. They called us when we were in our room and we set it up. It was excellent.Ā

  3. Our bid to move from a mini suite to a vista suite was just accepted yesterday for a cruise starting on 10/19. Our bid was at the lower end of ā€œfairā€ on the bid meter. We also put a bid in to move from our mini to a Club Class Mini. That bid minimum on the scale. We had heard the cruise was pretty full, so we werenā€™t expecting much. It was a pleasant surprise to have our bid accepted.Ā

When we traveled on a cruise in the past twice our ship would tender to both Goat Island and would have to walk to land.

    Ā

Also the tender stop would be along the shore which would be more convenient.

    Ā

You would have to see where the tender would dock for your particular ship.

    Ā

Thanks, when looking at Google Earth that appeared to be the most logical, place.Ā

  5. We received an email in early September asking if we wanted to submit an upgrade bid. We filled out all the info and submitted it. We did not get a confirmation email or any other indication Princess received the bid but didnā€™t think much about it. After researching on the forum, Iā€™m pretty sure we should have gotten an email back. True?Ā

Departing for a B2B in less then 10 days.

I'm not going to worry about the things I can't control.

I'm going to do my best to make sure I'm protected and do my best to protect others.

    Ā

I've gotten my 1 & 2 shot and booster in November + Flu shot in September and scheduled a PCR test for within 72 hours of my voyage. I'm fine with the indoor mask mandate. I also have (Non-NCL) travel insurance.

    Ā

I've made my specialty dining reservations and used 30k in BoA points to upgrade from a O4 to a BA cabin category and got my eDocs and luggage tags printed.
I also plan on bringing my bike with me too.

I will call people out on board if I see something that isn't "kosher" with current guidelines.

Safe travels & Happy New Year

    Youā€™re taking your bike? I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen that before.Ā

We were going to just walk off ourselves.Ā  As we passed through the bar/lounge area, John was standing there and said come on.Ā  We did. He had us off that ship so fast I think I was trying to catchup mentally.Ā  Never been off a ship that fast.Ā Ā

Same with us. Left the Haven at 730, at the Doubletree at 815, on the road by 825. 65 mph up the 405. Unbelievable!

    Ā

Example:Ā  You spend $500 on NCL and AMEX credits you back $125 due to the offer.Ā  Then you go and refund your $500 purchase from NCL and the $500 credits back to your credit card.Ā  Then AMEX will "claw back" the $125 credit they gave you since you didn't meet the requirements of the offer anymore because you took a refund from NCL.

    Ā

Thanks Cruise Gopher, I hadnā€™t heard the term before.Ā

  10. We agree with you roger. We found the rooms to be a nice size and well decorated. However the chair/fold out bed was totally unusable as were the deck chairs. Extremely uncomfortable. We used John, the concierge several times for reservations and he was excellent. The escort off the ship via the freight elevator was fantastic. Iā€™ve never disembarked a ship so fast and easy. The Haven bar and restaurant crew were great as well. Our first time on NCL, not our last.Ā

I just got off Bliss, along with about 30 friends. Ā Some of us had bug bites, but not from tiny bugs in the cabin ā€” so I donā€™t know that I would say BS, but maybe they were just guessing incorrectly. Ā There are crickets hanging out on deck 8 but doubt they were the culprits.

    Ā

We observed crew scrubbing and sanitizing everything pretty much all the time. Ā

I'm so glad you heard the crickets. Every time I brought my wife to hear them, they would shut up. She thought I was crazy.Ā

  12. We donā€™t go to many shows on cruise ships because the good ones are crowded/sold out and the bad ones, well, theyā€™re bad. If Jersey Boys is now the caliber of shows being offered on ships weā€™re going to make an effort to attend. We remember the ā€œFā€ word being used, but we didnā€™t think it was excessive. We were at the Friday 8PM show on your cruise and didnā€™t notice anyone leaving early. We were impressed.Ā

  13. We just got off the Bliss and the Diner was offered for free on embarkation day. We went there and the food was good. The milkshakes arenā€™t free even with PP+, which kinda surprised me. My wife and I drank enough Veuve and Johnny Walker Blue to float a small ship, but we had to pay for a small milkshake šŸ˜³

I agree with those that donā€™t eat every meal in the Haven. My wife wonā€™t eat anything that lives in the water and neither of us like to eat baby sheep and baby cows. We did eat breakfast every day and a couple lunches and dinners in the Haven and found the food to be very good and the service was outstanding. Actually, we found the service on Bliss to be outstanding everywhere we went. This was our first NCL cruise, but itā€™s definitely not our last.Ā
