  1. traveling slower, made me enjoy more of who I am and where I am going. I rather go on cruises or places on my own and walk as fast as I want to instead of being haggled by the young set saying that I was too old to travel. I just turned 62 so I anit old... I used to use my sisters name on here when my computer went to the pound and now her stuff is on my name now... we are all screwed up that's what happens when you reach ss age.

being retired has taught me to travel light if I do not wear it I throw it away. I never carry a heavy suitcase if it can not be rolled it can not fit... I only take enough panties for the days I am in port... so I can rewash them, bras... five pairs too. socks the same thing... shorts 3 pairs shirts 4 of those we can rewash them again too. a lot of under arm deodorant and aftershave for the legs... to keep bugs off... and men that want to touch my long legs... im shaved though.. .stubbles get in the way though.... so what else is new?;)

ps I hate to be pushed when traveling I love to do road scholar but they walk too much now that I love to walk slow and enjoy the food better eat slowly that's whats it about and drink more wine.

  2. I just started to collect my first SS. I feel so old! I never thought this day would ever come. I can remember seeing my parents collect their first checks... dad always said to me., he said daughter bank one months check every other month and you will always have money.

Daddy.... I can remember now if he was alive I would say I will only take out 200.00 of the monthly managed money I have to blow... the rest stays for my cruises... yippie!!!!:D

I take out 100.00 a month for gas... the rest for haircuts nails maybe a few lunchs... or a good book James Patterson's latest one Mistress Great read.

Now I am retired after working 42 yrs What do I do with myself? I have No grandbabies to love or play with. I hate volunteering unless they pay me. I do not like to sit with all the mammalas talk about who has this hurt and so on...

not a gossiper or talk about sickness... so what else is there to do?

ANYONE ON HERE> LETs plan a trip all the ladies to go to Europe for 2014. I want to go and enjoy myself. Anyone else???

Hubby still works, Im the only one with half a brain so lets do something happy... By the way I do not like the beach but love to go on ships and be entertained. I love to read and create things with my hands... Maybe the Chef will give me a job and help him cook... Italian Style???:p

I never thought I was going to get what I get from my state on ss. I thought it was gonna be small boy am I really happy!!:D

  3. Yes Darling Travelers, we changed our menu for the better, now things DO have a taste unlike those who said previously the food all tasted the same. WOW.... picky picky people!!! we traveled high and low sea by sea to buy the best seafood and meats to your specifications. Me i am a Begatian... thats right a BEGATARIAN... A person who begs for what ever is available I have for dinner, like a doggie... bark bark... I love the new choices in our menu... our chefs out did everyone recently and the food is superpub now... we do have GS Foods still as our vendor but they updated our menus... so lets get this ship rollin

  4. I would like to know if;) anyone wants to do a Big Florida Trip on a Ship for all of us to join in... I mean a nice trip for 2013... Not too expensive maybe for 5 or 7 days, that all of us can do this, and we can get to know each other. Wheter we are gay or not, then we can all have a nice time?:D

any one up to this? We are from the tampabay area... anyone else interested in this?

  5. Best wishes for all in this new year....may it be filled with at least one good cruise for everyone.

I am consideringa cruise in April before ships leave their Caribbean routes for the summer. I hope to try doings a booking the week of a cruise to see if there are any unsold cabins that would be available at a low price (or at least drop the single surcharge). Since I can drive to Tampa, Cape canavaral,Ft lauderdale or Miami...the posiibilities are numerous.

My big ticket item this year is a land tour (imagine a non cruise vacation!!!!) to Peru to see Machu Picchu. Going with my oldest friend and hoping to get others to go along forming a nice group of "family".

2013...tentatively booked on the inaugural/ transatlantic crossing of NCL's Breakaway. Not a fan of NCL.....but booked the cruise anyway.......its in April, just like the Titanic.....could be fun!. May replace this with the Royal Princess maiden voyage depending on the route and cost as I expect it to be a Med cruise.

    Happy sailings to all!

    Tom

  6. I am moving to Florida, Citrus County late next year.

I was wondering how many Cruise Critic gay and Lesbian posters there are in Florida and what parts of the state they reside. Not everyone can be from Ft lauderdale nor the Miami area. Me I will be in the rural area near Crystal River and figure I can buzz down to Tampa/St Pete or venture to the big city of Ft lauderdale when I need to get away.

Just curious as to how many posters are spread throughout the state...

Looking on gay web sites, there seems to be alot of people from Brooksville....cant figure why Brooksville.

    Tom

Tom there are not many places in brooksville, not many there at all mostly in Ybor city, and where you coming to live is the most radical place on earth against gays. Try coming and visiting to st. pete, or clearwater where we all accept you. we love our gay friends, I am not gay nor is my darling husband but we have alot of gay friends in tampa and st. pete area. In citrus county is not the ideal to place to live if your gay... not to tell everyone there you are at least. i will send you a copy of being on my friends list and then we can find places for you. My friend who is an agent for me is gay maybe u and him can be friends or hook up. its up to you. stay cool hang in there ... sweet.:D

  7. We are cruisers from florida we are not gay, but we have many friends who are and we adore you all. Am I and dh not allowed to post on here or become friends with our other gay friends? We love our family, most of our friends are gay so what gives. they are people like the rest of us, would like to travel in the future with some of you, anyone up for next year to either Asia Viet Nam, or the Baltics in July 2013? I would love to see other countries with friendly wise people as yourselves... why not go with happy people instead of old crabby ones. let us know we love you all.

  8. We have reached the age of "Senior Discounts" too, but we are active and love to travel, especially by cruise ships. Have done RCI, Southern Caribbean and Princess, Alaska.

Are going on our next cruise on the Allure of the Seas (RCI) Eastern Caribbean on May 13, 2012. Much prefer RCI. Can't wait to experience the Allure!

I am still working but my husband is retired. He has a couple of medical issues but we haven't had any problems with getting accessible rooms or a scooter for him anywhere.

Highly recommend Southern Caribbean and Alaska. Both were great!

hey have fun this was the best cruise ship if you walk 4 times from front to bak its 1 mile...so looks like ur gonna lose weight on this ship... have fun let us all know how your doing when u get back... been there done that in nov 2011

  9. Senior Citizen? WHO me? I guess I am, ever since I got my cataracts done 4 weeks ago I have been having problems with my eyesight so please bear with me on spelling and grammar. The best cruises Is RCCL, Mariner of the Seas... I will go on soon the Exployer and others been on Princess, its ok, if you like rude waiter at the tables. the Oasis was the best... loved it, Allure just as much fun... took the Junior Suite splurged for bit, balcony next time... I did alot of sleeping during the day stayed up all night with the kids 18-29. I was the only one 60 yrs old dancing with the teens on mumbo italiano... hey mumbo...

well, we love being a senior... discounts? well I got discounts before I was 60. now my kids are 30 and 22, 14 they said that mom and dad are old... i got news for them, they will be 60 one day too.

  10. Our cheapest cruise was the carnival inspiration out of tampa for 5 days 250.00 it included port charges and a balcony. we had the best 5 days we ever had the most expensive was on the Oasis of the Seas. Balcony and it was 1200.00 pp, at Central Park. We booked it way before the ship was thought about, it was in the building stage. It was our 23rd Anniv and this year since our birthdays and anniv fall on the same day, we are celebrating 3 events in one.

The next biggy trip we are taking is back to back in June, where we fly to Rome, take that to Ft. Lauderdale and then Ft. Lauderdale back to Rome with another cruise line... I think this should be fun. Then again in Next Nov go to China, Singapore, Viet Nam and Phillipines. I can not wait, I am spending my grandkids inheritance and they already got their inheritance. I bought my grand-daughter a new car several years ago my other grandson a house with his family and my newest grand-daughter a college education when she decides to go in fifteen years or so.

When we first got married I saved my entire paycheck for the grand kids now they got theirs now its grammies time to rock and roll and have fun with grandpa!

    Sweet
