@nonstopcruz1  I too have been thinking about switching to Azamara for all of the reasons that you have put forth, PARTICULARLY the small ships -- which we used to have with HAL.  Only thing stopping me is that I'll be 5* on HAL probably before the end of the year and I think I'm just too old to start at the bottom rung of a new loyalty program.

BTW, some of our old-time HAL regulars have indeed switched to Azamara and sing their praises of that line.

Hi Susan, I am almost 4* with HAL and have sailed on Azamara about 7 times and ❤️ them! No need to worry about a loyalty program with Azamara. I do save a bit more than those with no loyalty status, but they have such awesome solo deals that you are miles ahead in pricing overall because of all they include. (Especially if you catch a solo sale that includes OBC).

They take very good care of solos as well, with a meet up at 6pm each night so you can make dinner plans etc.. I am totally spoiled sailing ️ on small ships and look forward to my next 2 cruises. I hope you can sail with Azamara sometime soon.  😃 Terri

    That's quite a recommendation. Thanks!

    Jim

Hi Jim, I was happy to help out with this recommendation. I have been helped by so many over the years on Cruise Critic, and I am very grateful. We all have lots of choices when selecting a Cruise line, and everyone likes to get good deals, especially those who travel solo, and often pay double or more. So may we all continue to enjoy cruising whatever line we choose to sail with, and keep sharing helpful suggestions, and information with others. 🚢 ️ Have a great day! 😀 Terri

HAL is charging all single supplements at 80 %or more. I would join you in chewing the ground glass for NCL, Carnival and RCCL, but at least they have some reasonable single supplements. However, what I was referring to is the lack of any far in advance on pretty much all lines that I see. About the only exception is Celestyial, which I am booked on, which has a 50% supplement, but that limits me to a Greek cruise. I won't cruise on a 3000 passenger or bigger ship. And if this means I give up cruising, well, I've had some amazing land vacations way cheaper than my cruises. And I do scuba diving vacations now.

Have you ever cruised on Azamara? I have been sailing with them for many years. They often have Very Low single supplement charges. I just booked a 17 night Panama Canal XMAS/NEW YEARS cruise in an inside cabin with a super low supplement and $1,000 OBC. (Small ships about 700 passengers so much is included). Gratuities, Wine, Cocktails, bottled water, soda etc... I love sailing with them. I will also be on a Caribbean cruise with them in November for 12 nights. I booked this in January out of Miami with almost no supplement, and a $750.00 OBC. I have been sailing with HAL since 2006. I am 3 star Mariner but I have decided the small ships are much better for me. No crowds, chair hogs, etc... and very few children make it great! HAL has changed alot and there are no longer any great deals for solo's. So sadly I will not be sailing with them. I really enjoyed it for many years. It was like a second home for me. I hope you can try Azamara someday it is absolutely wonderful!! Happy ️.  Terri

Thanks Terri for the suggestion.  It took me 2 years to get rid of my Covid cough, trying different things, different suggestions from different doctors, getting thrush from some of it.  I know what I DON'T want to try this time.  When I used to get bronchitis every winter, my MDs/NPs would try all sorts of things to get rid of the never-ending cough.  I keep looking for something new.  I'm getting tired of having to wear leakage pads now.

Melody - cool hardware!!  I love looking at x-rays.  It looks like it sits lower than I thought it would in the shoulder.  Question - you're the one who had issues with the metal in your mouth, right?  What is the socket made from?    The hydrocodone is the only oxy I've ever used.  I'm very diligent about the dosage.  Our skeleton team doctor gave some to me in Germany back in 2003 (flu that converted to bronchitis) and it's been my go-to since.

OOTD:  joggers and Tshirt.  low 50s and sunny today.  BUT, Monday and Tuesday have highs in the 30s and snow in the forecast.  Those 30-40 degree temp changes in one day are so hard to dress for.  Welcome to May in Utah!!

Wow! 2 years with a Covid cough horrible!! I am happy to try to help you out. We keep a supply in the house at all times of these, and I also started packing them on all my cruises. They are the best! Have a nice weekend. Terri

Melody - I meant to ask you:  have you found a good "one shoulder" bag to use yet?  Nice ones available from the usual suspects - Cotopaxi, Sherpani, etc.   One thing to check for:  which shoulder is slings on!  Some have a changeable strap and some are hard-wired to one side.

The freakin' cough left from the flu is really upsetting me!!  It's supposed to go away any day now...

Food front:  ATTENTION TJ SHOPPERS:  I found some new goodies there last week.  Sous Vide Turkey breast and Sous Vide Chicken Thighs.  I got the turkey.  Really good and easy for a couple of meal proteins.  Tender & juicy and a nice seasoning.  All you do is microwave it.   Spicy Mango Lemonade.  It's back.  Good as-is, blended with ice, or mixed with rum or vodka.   Banana Pudding Ice Cream.  For you Southern women 😸  It did taste like banana pudding, with little pieces of vanilla wafer cookies.  Just a nice little dessert.

OOTD:  sweats and a Tshirt.  Going to the market later and I'll put on jeans and a Tshirt.

Hi, I just wanted to see if I could offer a suggestion for your horrible cough. Pease try Olbas Lozenges. You may be able to buy them locally, or you can buy them online. They are awesome and sugar free! My friend suggested them to me. They Really helped with a HORRIBLE Covid19 cough that would not go away. They work great when nothing else does!! Goodbye cough. I hope they work for you. Have a nice day. 😃 Terri

We went off to see museums for the morning and part of the afternoon, so I can't answer your question.

I do know that the people who were B2B (there were more than 50) were given priority boarding tickets that identified them as B2B. When we returned to the dock at around 2:00, we were able to board immediately.

Thank you very much for your help.

Azamara required that all B2B passengers disembark and reboard when we did a B2B that turned around in Fort Lauderdale. I don't know if this was a U.S. regulation and might not be true in Monaco.

I will be doing a B2B in November on the Journey out of Miami. After you disembark can you reboard quickly? Or did you need to stay off the ship for a certain amount of time? Thanks for help with this.

The solos I know including me are flocking AWAY from

Happy Cruiser, Please check out Azamara Cruises. Small ships under 700 guests. Great for solos and so much is included including gratuities, soft drinks, bottled water, cocktails, 🍷  with lunch and dinner. I just got a great solo price on a 12 night out of Miami on the Journey. (Eastern Caribbean). I am thinking of adding on the cruise after and doing a b2b for another 13 nights through Thanksgiving the price for solos is fabulous! I love ️  🚢 with them. Sailing Terri

  9. I will be sailing on the Azamara Journey in November out of Ft. Lauderdale for 12 nights Eastern Caribbean. I booked it last week with a nice amount of onboard credit included. I was on the Onward in December and loved it. This will be my 5th. time sailing solo on Azamara, the price was great. I am thinking of adding on the 13night after mine and doing a b2b because the solo price is really good as well. Azamara is really great with solo's and traveling on the small ships is just wonderful!

We cancelled one day later.. no refund to card

Nonstop...did you get an e mail or any notice  from X, the refund was going to your card.  Guess I'll call again tom.

Seems no rhyme or reason that we are privy to.

No we did not get an email or any notification from X I found out by checking with my credit card company.

  11. I cancelled my cruise on March 8th.

Received FCC on the 16th March... and cash back on my credit card (was posted on the 20th March). I booked directly with Celebrity.

So it was just under 2 weeks to receive $$$ and FCC I was very happy to receive this so quickly.
