I sailed the Epic TA from Barcelona to San Juan in November 2019 and wouldn't do another one that late in the year. It was cold and rainy until we got to Portugal. To be expected but it did impact the enjoyment of the port stops in Spain.

How do you search for these on their site? I haven't been able to figure out how to change the occupancy before selecting the cabin type.

No. Fortunately 2020 went there. One of the reasons Captain Jonathan stayed until 2020 as they enticed him with possible Zodiacs. (Which HAL didn't have and its ships are not Polar class so they cannot do excursions closer to the Continent). 2026 is similar to the planned 2020 up until after the Maldives. (Of course it ended short after Cairns and sailing around to Freemantle to fly home).
Didn't the Maasdam have Zodiacs?

HAL is my favorite mainstream cruise line but I really like NCL for solo cruises outside North America. They have interesting itineraries to Europe and Asia and lots of solo cabins.

I would book now so you can get the same cabin in location you like. As long as it’s not with a non-refundable deposit, you can reprice if it drops.

Hi, I'll be traveling on the Getaway next month with a large group and we'll be taking some of the NCL excursions. Do we need to check in together for bus-specific stickers or are you assigned to specific bus when loading?

Which two ports did you get replaced to in Scotland? Replacing Dublin with Dun Laoghaire is fine and so EASY to take train to downtown Dublin. Hoping that is what you guys got to do. Voyage of the Vikings is the best!! Can't wait for the 2025 to get published for sale 🙂 Thanks
Lerwick in the Shetland Isles and Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.

Am on the Voyage of the Vikings right now, they deleted Bergen, Norway and Dublin, Ireland. Reykjavik will be tender only on an overnighter! Fellow passengers are upset.
I’m also on this sailing. These ports are replaced with two stops in Scotland. The tendering in Reykjavik is because too many ships are here those days and HAL got the short straw.

There are so many cruise ships in Reykjavik next month our ship, Zuiderdam, drew the short straw and will spend our two days there anchored in the harbor. Does anyone know where the tenders will drop passengers? Holland America didn't provide the information which makes it hard to arrange private tour pickups.
Thanks!

It is nuts that a prescription is need for parts - I am on Medicare now, and get my replacement parts shipped to me regularly.
Here is the prescription requirement to buy a reservoir from CPAP.com. I imagine all suppliers, in the U.S, have to follow the same rule.
A humidifier prescription must contain the following information:
Your Doctor's contact information
Your Doctor's signature
Your full name
One of the following words or phrases: CPAP Humidifier, Humidifier, HH, CPAP Supplies, CPAP Mask, CPAP, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, APAP, AutoPAP, AutoSet, Auto CPAP, Auto Adjusting CPAP, Self Adjusting CPAP, BiPAP, BiLevel, VPAP, BiPAP Auto, BiPAP ST, Synchrony ST, VPAP STI've been buying replacement parts on Amazon without prescription the past couple of years after insurance change made it much pricier than what I'd pay online.

the incident with the women sounded like standard protocol in any business. If you are not trained and certified to render first aide, then don’t engage. Let the women scream. Any action creates a liability in the event that it causes more harm/injury in the eyes of an Abilene chasing lawyer. That is the world you live in.Sounds like you described just about any cruise line. Cruising on a middle of the pack cruise line is not for you. See ya.
I hope bystanders continue to give aid when coming upon people needing it. That's the reason good samaritan laws exist.

Having lived in San Diego for decades, the fall is the best time to cruise from there (September/October).

Lest I be accused of being a HAL apologist: I tried to order a Last Word at the Ocean Bar and they didn’t have any chartreuse, so I had to order something else. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO.
I had to google that drink and now I want one. 😁

We lived on the West coast for 40 plus years and I would say the Fall is best (September-November). We cruised roundtrip to Hawaii from Long Beach in October before and it was wonderful weather and pretty calm seas (for the Pacific).

There's a music cruise going on now; maybe the crane was to set up a stage at the pool?

Anyone know of any blogs or live threads for the 2023 World Cruise starting this week?

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a blessing to have those memories of that last vacation with Jan. Take care!

Thank you for the wonderful live review.
P.S. Those MDR eggs are better to me but it's all personal preference.

It has been around midnight eastern time for ships sailing on the East Coast.
Yes, I was able to check in right after 9 pm west coast time (midnight East coast) for my June Allure of the Seas sailing.

Lee had a calling plan on her phone, so she let my MIL use it to call my dear FIL. He told us it was snowing at home. Wow, what a great time to be on a ship floating around the Caribbean!
We were stuffed from dinner and didn’t have much going on. We must have stopped into the Pub because I have this picture.
I also must have been extremely annoyed with trying to use the chat feature because I took this pic.
We sat in the piano bar for a bit. That guy is very talented. I can see why he draws a crowd every night. It looks like people get there early and hold seats. I noticed several people eating their dinner right before he came on so they must have been there for a long time. We went to Comedy at 10:15 and saw Joel Lindley.
Eventually, we went for Pizza and got it back to the cabin by midnight.
While I was peacefully falling asleep with a belly full of Pizza there were shenanigans going on out and about with the Family…😳

We had a wonderful time. Hopefully immigration goes smoothly. There are three ships here now.
I hope it does go smoothly but I wonder if they have enough staff to handle 3 ships. When I got off the Koningsdam in March we were the only ship and it was slower than I'd experienced in busier Florida ports recently. They didn't use facial recognition and each and every person had to personally have their passports checked.

All the Teppanyaki style restaurants I've been to in the US have that entertainment focus. Maybe it's an American thing?
