Blue Bay is much closer than Porto Mari, Kokomo is a few minutes further than Blue Bay. The entrance fee in US dollars is approx. $8.00 per adult and $4.00 per child.

Blue Bay is a bigger beach area than Kokomo.

Here is the beach info site for Blue Bay.

Bup1224- What would be your recommendations for a family of 4, our children will be 10 and 3 1/2 at the time of us visiting. We will be there from 9am until 10pm. We LOVE the beach, but also would like to sight see some and show the kids some neat things that the island has to offer.

  2. Breakfast - Blue Iguana breakfast burritos but you have to get the hash browns in them, The omelet station is one of my favs as well

Lunch- Guys Burgers and Fries are always good, as well as the Mongolian Wok

Dinner- Pasta Carbonara is DELICIOUS but is not always on the menu, Chicken bacon mac n cheese, Farfalle Pasta , Ceasar Salads

Desert - 24/7 soft serve ice cream, Warm Melting Cake

  3. Usually after we finish riding around the island and spending some time at the light house and Governor's Beach we end the day at Jack's Shack playing with Topher and now Calypso. Love it there, it makes Grand Turk one of my favorite places.

I think we are sold on Jack's! Our son, who will be turning 2 on the cruise, LOVES "woof woofs" and I just think he would have a ball watching Topher and Calypso. And my hubby and I are dying to try the jerk chicken. :)

  4. We are doing the same cruise a few weeks after you with our son who will turn 2 on the cruise, and our 8 year old daughter. In Amber Cove we are just going to the pool area at the port and hanging out there. They have a kids area with small slides, and a splash pad also. In Grand Turks we booked an excursion through Carnival called "All Inclusive Family Private Beach w/ Water Toys" It had great reviews from families and will allow the kids to get some beach time~! Hope this helps :)

  5. Is the Cabana Check-In new? We were at HMC 2 years ago and had rented a Cabana. We got to the island and went straight to our Cabana. We are going back to HMC the second week of January and have a Cabana booked again and want to make sure of the protocol. Thanks!!

We are happy to be back at Half Moon Cay once again…..

I get in line to check in for our cabana…..

After you check in you can be shuttled to your cabana if you want. Being that our cabana is fairly close, I choose to walk. In the meantime Patti is off taking pictures. This is the Rumrunners Bar…..

  6. We are going on the Elation in January and the Sunshine in June of 2018. Our son will be 18 months in January and turn 2 during out June cruise. I have read mixed answer on what if any water areas he will be allowed in. It is going to be tough keeping him out of the water, he has been in swim lessons for months already and is a little fish.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Nassau is one of my favorite ports! I usually go to Cable Beach, Saunders Beach, and / or Ardastra Gardens & Zoo on my own. You can take a taxi very easily or hop on the #10 jitney (local bus). The water is crystal clear and so turquoise blue!!! And the Fish Fry is along the way if you'd like some fresh local food for lunch.

We've also done a couple snorkeling excursions there. The best was with Bay West tours (not through the cruise lines). I found them on the internet - very nice guys - great excursion!

We go again in Sept. and are looking into taking a boat to Rose Island for the day, with snorkeling and lunch included. I can't wait!! The pictures and reviews make it look like lots of fun.

    - You can also walk right off the ship and do some shopping. There are plenty of stores right there, plus the huge Straw Market. - There's always Señor Frog's, if you like that kind of thing...(!)

    - We've walked to the Queen's Staircase before. There's a Pirate Museum close by.

    - You can ride the water taxi over to the Atlantis side (Cabbage Beach is there).

    Have fun!!

We are booked in January and are looking at spending the day at Cable Beach. We have been to Atlantis and Junkanoo so its time for something new :) What is the best way to do Cable Beach, taxi? Is it a public beach or should we get a daypass from a resort/hotel?
