  1. On the Epic January 2011 there was clearly under aged gambling going on and I brought it to the attention of casino mgr on a couple occasions and it was the same kids and apparently when they confronted the father he was quite pissed at the fact that they couldn't gamble and more a less told him to mind his own business.

  2. Can't wait to read your review, in the meantime I have some questions and requests

Do you have a copy of the dailies you can post?

Do you have a copy of the MDR menu's?

Do you have a copy of all the specialty restaurant menu's?

Was there any dinner specials like 2 4 1?

Do kids eat free in the specialty restaurants?

    Who was the cruise director?

    Who was the captain?

What was the name of your butler?

    How much is bingo?

What was the entertainment and what nights did they entertain?

Did they have deal or no deal?

    If so what night?

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed your cruise.

  3. An excellent way of putting it. And particularly anything called "chocolate" is tasteless. The "chocolate buffet"? Yuck. Brown stuff, occupying space. They can't be using real chocolate...

Exception: the chocolate fondue at Le Bistro is the real deal, but that's a specialty restaurant.

I often opt for the cheese plate in the MDR....

I was surprised to find that they moved the time up to 7:30 to (:30 I always thought it was later, anyway we saw it on the first week after it was bombarded so we made a note to go back 2nd week to take pics. We thought the sculptures were the best ever and way more of them. We didn't eat any of it as I've always said f your gonna eat calories make them good ones.

  4. We find the desserts on the buffet to be made for diabetics with no taste.

But the specialty dining rooms have some exceptional desserts such as the Napoleon in Le Bistro and the creme brulee, the rasberry brulee in Cagney's is also very good as is the ricotta cheese cake in the Italian restaurants along with Tiramisu.

  5. And no to me its better to grab the OBC ,in this case it was $75 per week so if you price in the biggest perk which is dinner for two LeBistro equals $40 for two.

So I would use this as a measure as to whether or not to go for a price drop/obc or the points.

I don't know what the perk is for the 250 point level but at this point I'm happy with the Platinum perks as we've been Plat for awhile. And seeing that we always do b2b cruises thats four dinners at Le bistro

  6. I would think if you re-book within 9 months you should not get them. We just re-booked and I do not expect to get the extra points. Can't have it both ways. In my humble opinion!

Your right can't expect it both ways. We are well above the Platinum Level so at this point it makes more sense to take the OBC and forfeit the additional points.

  7. So if you book 9 months out you get additional points but if you are booked that far out and chase price drop(s) and you get one NCL creates a new invoice showing either your price change or OBC however the invoice has the new date so if your less than nine months out you won't get your additional points.

    Has anyone experienced this?

  8. The ship flat back so unless the folks above are drastically leaning over their railing your gonna be fine. See pic

We have stayed in 9290 its really quiet aft ship and you also only have folks on one side of you as there is a stairwell on the other

  9. Was wondering if there is a website after you cruise to download pictures of you, Instead of paying the outragious prices I am hearing about onboard during your cruise for pictures

Only if you have a mug shot taken, you may have block out the number.lol.

  10. We sailed on the Star in March. I purchased a drink package, and received a cup with the NCL logo on it to carry around the trip to be refilled each time I want a drink.

Anyone know if it is the same cup on each ship or do they change it up at all? (change colouring/ logo/ etc).

    Thanks

The cup usually is the same but the sticker they put on your key changes week to week.

  11. Why would you expect any perks from the cruise line when in reality the m&g is for you and the others to benefit to do whatever, but for me it's about organizing excursions OFF ship which of course the monies are not going into the cruiselines pocket.

The other cruisers of the m&g are going to spend the monies anyway unless you consider a slot huge revenues for the cruise line.

  12. As I suspected - just found this in an article about Concordia:

"Because of the heft of the Costa Concordia’s bell, police suspect a team of thieves, likely divers authorized to work on the liner."

Wonder how much more loot has been pilfered by "authorized divers"?

Gotta love these catholic countires. Notice I said gotta not Gotti. lol

  13. Thanks for your take on Cagney's, it's was only a couple days ago I posted how Cagneys was always ahit and miss with us mainly a hit but we always knew we could count on the shrimp cocktail were we would order two and if the steak was sent back we would just order more shrimp cocktail.

I really don't understand why NCL has to have this problem is it because they buy cheap cuts of meat or is it in the prep and cooking area because as far as I can see they are not saving any money on us if we end up having 6 shrimp cocktail and top of them throwing the money away for a steak that has to be thrown out.

I have complained to every restaurant mgr and hotel director on every cruise (22) to be exact and all b2b and yet they still continue to blow it. Thank goodness for Le Bistro

And this is where Carnival scored really well is that while we cruised with them in January on Freedom for the first and last time as our overall experience was far less than acceptable they only have one pay restaurant which is their steakhouse, we ate there twice and had memorable steaks and apps. both times.

  14. anybody else having trouble logging into the NCL website? It won't let me click OK after entering my username and password

The site has been funky for a few days now with all the changes they are making.

Here is the message i get after signing in "There is some problem with reservation data. Please try again after sometime".
