What is your previous stop to NY? They might (but I doubt it) if it is in Canada, otherwise no. For Miami, they have ships there everyday...they won't board in advance.

st johns.  i was wondering that.  i was hoping someone may have done a cruise similar and would know from experience.  but it looks like i may have to do a shore excursion to make sure i am off early.

Is this all on one cruise? As noted by CruiserBruce, you will have to deal with Immigration every time you enter the US. Customs is usually on disembarkation. There is no way to accurately  predict how long it might take.

all same cruise.  Amsterdam to Miami.  we recently did australia to hawaii.  the immigration process took forever. (first stop in Kona disembarking HNL)  We didnt get off till 1.30 pm.  and what we wanted to do closed at 2pm.  so we got off turned around and went back on.  if we had done a shore excursion thru the ship we would have been first thru immigration and off.  Just trying to decide if i want to pay for a very expensive shore excursion so we get off early enough to do what we want.

Immigration is the issue, not Customs. It will likely be done in both New York and Miami, as you have left the US, and then returned.

I can't give you a real solid estimate, but would think in New York, non-US citizens will require a little more close check, where in Miami all will probably get the same check.

sorry immigration/customs.  i use interchangeable but i guess they are not.  okay.  thanks.  is it likely they would board at stop previously and do on a sea day or not likely.  After the long wait we had with hawaii i dont want to see anytime in New York.  so trying to decide if we do a ship shore excursion or on our own.

    thanks

Thanks so much Jazdax for your thoughts.
We didn’t think a comedy club was important to us until we went on Carnival Splendor.  The acts were mostly hilarious and a great way to end the evening.
Do you know if P&O has good comedy acts outside the Comedy cruises?

You may get one comedy act outside of comedy cruise.  but i must admit most of my p&o cruises have been comedy cruises.

  5. my experience with HAl.  is that they are generally not designed for teenagers.

Carnival and P&o more designed for kids.  I would suggested either of these.  My last experience on Carnival was the service was not the same as pre covid.  I havent done p&o since covid but my daughter has and has enjoyed it.  I love the p&o comedy cruises.  A great intro to those that have never cruises before.  The punchline club on Carnival has comedy shows each day.  some AO others not.

If you can check out Royal Caribbean they are in Australia oct to apr.  they are very family friendly and so many activities for all no one would be board.

Most cruise ships will be extremely busy during school holidays.  and will have a lot more kids on board than those not in school holidays.  for example:  i recently did carnival over Easter with more kids than adults on board (1500 kids).  then did one of Royal a few days later and only 200 kids on board.
