Florida Lady from South Florida posted about 8 hours ago in the 17th March Roll Call she has been fully refunded.

Perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the rest of us waiting for that cruise to be refunded. 🤔

I hope so, it’s getting really frustrating waiting for my refund, Azamara are so quick to take our money and soooo slow to refund.

Not sure where I will cruise, but I know it will not be with Azamara - sorry, but in times of trouble I need to have confidence in the management of the company.

I agree, not with Azamara, Viking Ocean is looking very good!

The situation with Azamara and RCCl was appalling, leaving people not knowing what was happening to their cruise when all ports were shut so impossible to cruise,  and still selling said cruise bordered on the criminal. Offering FCC and not a refund until forced to do so until the last minute! This is no way to treat guests. Yes the situation was unprecedented but we were able to compare how other cruise lines treated their guests and Azamara came up very short. Communication was non existent,  customers will remember and vote with their feet. I think the people who still support them after this debacle will have the ships to themselves. Keeping safe and healthy is paramount, but excusing such poor service, I don’t feel  able to do that.

I agree completely sunlover33, leaving everyone hanging until the last minute was not only very stressful but very bad customer service.

    Viking Ocean here we come!

  4. I’m getting really sick and tired of the games Azamara are playing at the moment.

This cruise should be cancelled and money returned to us all.

They must know that Dubai is now closed to cruise ships, and what other ports will be closed over the next couple of weeks.

If the cruise goes ahead, embarking from another unknown port it might be a trip on the ship with no port stops to Athens.

What a waste of time and money that will be.

    😡😡

If people cancel voluntarily and take the loss that is better for them. They might wait to cancel until we’ve all gotten ourselves to Singapore. By then many people have canceled and taken the loss and they will not have to refund money to those who voluntarily canceled before Azamara did. I hate to be that cynical but if this is about dollars and cents rather than safety and customer service/ loyalty, then that would be the strategy. 😂

I agree completely, this was my first thought too, just let everyone cancel and lose their money, then at the last minute cancel the cruise.  😡😡

  6. In today’s Sunday paper I saw what looks like a terrific cruise with MSC. I have never cruised with them before and don’t know anyone who has. Could someone who has cruised with them tell me something about the line and would you recommend them.

    thanks

  7. I’m usually pretty easy going when cruising, wash my hands often, use the sanitizer when walking around the ship etc. The thing that really worries me is when the cleaning person wipes the table then the chairs with the same cloth and then moves on to clean the next table. The chairs are filthy and the same cloth should never be used.

    cheers

Sue.   Any Brisbane Lions Fan is a friend of mine.     Although my first love is Rugby (after my Darling of course).    Reds leading the  Stormers 21-7 as I write this.     Good to see the Lions having a better start to the season.   Hope it continues.

We are catching up with some Canadian cruise friends (from a 2017 cruise) in Vancouver, likely the  first night, but let’s catch up on board and see what works for us.

We are staying at the Wedgewood Hotel.

Are you on Hong Kong to Vancouver, Tokyo to Vancouver or a longer cruise ?

We  can hopefully catch up at the Meet and Mingle on board or give us a call in 6024.

    Rod and Lyn.

Hi Rod, we are on the Tokyo to Vancouver leg, getting pretty excited now, not long before we leave. We are having 10 days in Japan before we get on the cruise.

We love rugby too, go Reds! And follow the Broncos!

We will certainly get in contact with you once we are on board.

    see you both soon.

    cheers Sue

Pushka,   Thanks for the “heads up” on Vancouver.    We are disembarking the cruise before yours after 37 days from Hong Kong.    I agree it is going to be an “interesting” disembarkation via tender and same for your embarkation.   Not sure how well the logistics will work and sound like plenty of scope for delays, particularily for your departure time.      Any delays  getting our pax  off will snowball onto your cruise.     Agree it could be a tad stressful.

Could also be stressful for disembarking pax if they have tight timelines for flights.   I am glad we have a hotel booked in Vancouver for 2 nights.

I know these port arrangements can change, so I have my fingers crossed for all of us hoping a berth may miraculously appear !!!!

We will wave from our tender as we come in.   Don’t forget to wave back.

    Cheers.   Rod

Hi Rod we have a hotel booked in Vancouver as well, maybe we could do something together there.

    cheers Sue

  10. We did a Celebrity cruise a couple of years ago from Singapore to Singapore for 14 nights and had 700 Mexicans on board ranging in age from teens to 60 somethings.

They didn’t impact our cruise that much but after about the third night the buffet went from the usual fare to about 60% Mexican food. No venues were closed to the general passengers, and we mostly ate in the main dining room.

One day we went to one of the lounges for trivia and there was a small group of Mexicans (about 8) in the corner talking and laughing quite loudly, we could not hear the questions, it didn’t last too long, a few passengers went and spoke to them, I don’t know what they said, anyway they left in a huff and much clapping from most in the room! The funny thing was the crew member didn’t say anything to them even though he knew they were disrupting the trivia!

    We had a great cruise.

  11. Why wait? Book today. Cunard have anytime dining now, excepting one restaurant catering for those who prefer fixed seating times.

Isn't it a good idea to give people real choice (anytime or fixed), rather then impose/dictate only one system on everyone? Everyone is happy with choice, which is surely as it should be?

On land, I usually make a booking at a good restaurant; time and table size. If I turn up without a reservation at a busy time (mid-evening) at a popular venue, I am not surprised to be told "No tables, sorry. Wait time to be seated is 45 mins/1 hour" or even turned away if they have a "no reservation - no table" policy. If I've booked ahead at a restaurant (or there are set dining times at a venue), I avoid possible waiting around.

As has been said, there are many, many other cruise lines out there, from which to make one's selection, for people who need ships with only anytime-dining style. With Cunard you have choices.

In all areas of life we are being given more and more choice, catering for individual desires. I am amazed that some think this ability to choose is bad thing, and want to dictate to others that their particular way of doing things, their preferences, are the only way allowed, and should therefore be imposed on everyone.

Happy sailings for the future, and all best wishes :)

When did I say anytime dining only?

Of course have traditional dining for those who want it AS WELL AS anytime dining in the Britannia Restaurant. Choice is great.

    Cheers

  12. I'm with pepperrn. You know before you book that Cunard has fixed dining times in Britannia. If you don't like this either book a non Britannia restaurant grade cabin or go to a line that does anytime dining for every meal. Why book something you don't like when so many other options are available?

We have twice in the last 2 years been allocated (as requested) a table for 6 and found no other diners turning up at all. The first time we stayed in the hope someone would eventually appear. The second time we asked to change tables and were really lucky with our new table. We could see our original table from the new one and no one ever turned up there. Why ask for a table of 6 (or more) when you have no intention of turning up? It is such a shame for those left waiting.

I like a standard balcony cabin and I also don’t want to book a non Britannia Restaurant cabin as I like this restaurant. I know before I book what the seating arrangements are so for the time being we will put up with either early or late sitting. I just would like Cunard to offer Anytime dining as well.

Things are changing, formal nights are not as formal etc.

I think we will probably see more in the future when Cunard try to attract a younger demographic.

    Cheers

  13. This must be one of the most unhelpful comments for a while. Are you really suggesting that a sensible response to a person's desire for AnyTime Dining is that they should pay twice, three times or more for their cruise to get that option? Really?

Some people like fixed; others like AnyTime, and many cruise lines offer a choice. The world would not end if Cunard did likewise.

    Stuart

Thanks Stuart, reasonable thinking at last.

    Cheers

  14. If I choose a balcony cabin ( I did that 3weeks ago ) on Queen Elizabeth, I was assigned the Britannia Restaurant and either early or late sitting. I did not choose the Grills.

I would like to have Anytime Dining. I was asked to fill out a survey a week ago about dining, I got the impression that Cunard are at last listening to people who want this type of dining.

    Cheers
