  1. Has anyone ever managed to book the scenic train that goes around St Kitts without going through the ship's tours? I'm all for a bargain! :)

Just looking at my cruise personaliser and there are no tours for the senic railway. We go 23/2/18, cruise D804. In fact they are not offering many tours at all to most of the islands. We did a snorkelling trip to the Pistons last year which was great, but no sign of it this year.

  2. No, thank God, she does not. Hopefully she never will, it would spoil her gentile atmosphere.

I ofter cruise and sometimes like half an hour on the slot machines before bed. I do consider myself genteel, ladylike and courteous. Hope I don't spoil the atmosphere haha

  3. I think you must be correct. I have never flown PE in conjunction with a cruise so wasn't aware of this extra cost - Thomson and Virgin allow you to choose your seats for free in PE. BA make you pay, even in club, unless you wait until 24 hours before the flight, or are a BA Gold member.

We have just booked a cruise on Adonia for next February to the Caribbean. We are going on Virgin, I believe its P&O new partener for flights from Manchester and London :)

  4. All the libraries on all the ships I've been on have books that people have left. Back in the day when I still took actual books on cruises, I left them all on board. The selection will vary, of course.

I read in bed and find my iPad mini uncomfortable. Much prefer a paperback

  5. We did the HOHO bus last year. It is a nice walk from the dock to the information centre where the buses leave, about 15 minutes or so. Do it early in the day or else it will be too hot.

If you are a senior, ask for the senior's discount. We stopped off at the Military Museum - well worth it. You can buy tickets to the Museum from the bus driver.

Thank you for the information. We are in our 70's what proof of age do they require.

  6. Hi

When we were on Solstice in March 2016 there was a charge of about £15 or

$22 US for the service. There were 4 in our group so we got a taxi each for about the same--the taxi driver agreed to pick us up for the return trip 3 hours after drop off. It did mean we did not have to wait around for a full bus.

It is a lovely place to walk around and Southbank has loads of things to see.

    Hope this helps

    Thank you for the infomation.

  7. We usually cruise with P & O but have booked on Celebrity Solstice from Singapore to Australia. Is there any drinks stations where I can get hot water or will the cabin attandant supply a kettle.

How easy is it to get a cup of tea on the solstice.

Any infomation would be most welcome.

  8. We love being high up and have been in balcony cabins L215. Next year we are going in an outside cabin instead of a balcony, (cost!) and have chosen L104.

We have seen these cabins and they have lots of light.

But we enjoy the high deck and being at the front.

Look at P&O deck plan for more info.

    Cheers::):)
