Hello. We are booked on the Ecstacy out of Jacksonville at Christmas. We're veteran cruisers, including previous cruises on older Carnival ships, so we understand the lack of amenities compared to new ships, are are fine with that.
We've booked a balcony (E102) on the Empress deck (deck 7). It looks to be under the galley directly above, but from what I've read, that should not cause a noise concern at night.
I've also read about smells, but, again, they seem to be located on other decks and public areas. The ship is scheduled for dry dock in October, probably including carpet and other interior refurbishments; maybe some plumbing fixes as well, so not really concerned about this.
What does perhaps concern me is the ship's movement, rocking and rolling. My wife is sensitive to sea sickness, which is one reason why we chose the cabin we did... mid ship. We are considering an upgrade to a junior suite on the Verandah Deck (deck 11). These cabins are a more forward and under the fitness center or spa. Would they be noticeably any better or worse than the deck 8 balcony?
By the way, we recently returned from a 10 night Mediterranean cruise on the Celebrity Edge (which was wonderful), and had no issues with sea sickness. But the Ecstacy is a much smaller, older ship.

Trying to book steakhouse dining on Liberty, Christmas Day. But we don't want to miss special Christmas entertainment. Any advice on dining times that will work?

We're sailing Carnival Liberty and will be in Nassau on Christmas Day. We've previously done the thing at Atlantis, and so far, not too impressed with Carnival's excursion offerings. I suspect that many private operators will be taking Christmas Day off.
Also, the weather can be iffy that time of year.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Are restrooms available at Trafalgar Falls or Botanical Gardens?

We are booked on Equinox in December. The itinerary shows the ship arriving in St Maarten at 8:00am. We are interested in an excursion (not through Celebrity) that departs at 8:30. If the ship follows local time, we should be OK, But if they follow US ET, this won't work.
Does anyone know?

Does anyone have a recent experience with the French Connection catamaran tour? Thinking of booking in December.

Thinking of booking this excursion through Celebrity. What time will it leave the port?

First time Celebrity cruisers, 10 night Caribbean cruise in December. Two questions:
Which nights are formal nights (want to reserve optional dining venues, but not on formal nights)?
We have late dining (8:30). Will we miss any evening entertainment venues?
Thanks!

Will we miss entertainment venues?

Hi Celebrity experts. We are trying to decide between a 1A vs. 1B stateroom on Equinox, deck 9. Looks like the 1A's are on the "bump". Anything we should take into consideration?

Closed-toed hiking sandals, like the ones the previous poster linked to, are highly recommended, particularly for the Middleham Falls hike.
How strenuous is Craigdarrich Castle?
in California Coastal / Pacific Northwest

We are considering a Buchart Gardens / Craigdarroch Castle tour in Victoria. However, I have a heart condition and my wife has bad knees. We see there are 80 steps to climb at the castle to see it all. Is it worth seeing if you can only visit the lower portion?
