Just when we thought Covid was the worst contamination one could encounter on a cruise ship.I spit out my coffee on this one! Thanks for the good laugh this morning.

Speaking of a 'themed cruise' how'd ya like to find yourself on the NCL Pearl Feb 03 -Feb 14, 2025 for the Big Nude Boat. Yep, a nude cruise! It was on the news last night and the news readers were aghast...as was I.
Note to self: never ever, ever sail on Norwegian Pearl after February 14, 2025. Not that there is anything wrong with that lifestyle, I just couldn’t get the image out of my head of sitting where someone’s naked body parts may have been.

I am late to the game — page 4. Looking forward to it!
My sister and I are considering driving to Miami in October because airfare is so outrageous for the return flight. Your reviews are helpful in that regard.

Maybe a little bit before in Miami, and maybe more afterwards, but I'm not purchasing an Internet plan on board. This cruise is going to a "real vacation" just for me...
Nice!

Happy Monday Tribe! 3 weeks from today, I’ll be embarking on the Allure of the Seas. I just scheduled the mail hold. I’m still looking for parking, but the Spot seems to think they are the only parking lot in all of north Texas. I’m not paying $11/day there when I can pay $10/day onsite at the actual airport. After getting some work done today, I’m going to assess the kids packing. A Target run is definitely on the agenda this week. They haven’t been on a cruise since the Carnival Dream in Oct. 2022. With the weekends filled with softball and soccer, I gotta get this show on the road.
Love the Allure! Have cruised on her twice. My favorite ship in the RC fleet.

Lambeau Field has metal bleachers. Froze my bum on those seats plenty of times.

Hello! Apparently, you’ll receive an email after you try to check in from cruise line security.
Thanks! Hopefully, I will have this all straightened out come October. Appreciate your response.

FYI for everyone, the feds are cracking down, if you owe back taxes, don’t plan to sail. You will be on the “do not sail” list.
Hi, Megan. I am a loooooong time lurker — binge read Sid’s Ay-Tee-El before binge reading this. I am sorry to bother you, but how would I know if I am on the do not sail list. I have been fighting with the IRS as they say I owe them taxes, but I don’t (lived in Cayman Islands for years, and it’s tax free). I would hate to get to the port in October and be turned away.

Mardi Gras is awesome!
‘’if you are going to the shows in Grand Central, get there early or all the good seats will be taken. In my opinion, Granc Central is the one area that Carnival failed. When I am watching a show, I like quiet. Grand central has too much going on in the background (coffee place, people walking by) for it to be quiet.
Bolt is a must do at least once. I found the comedy shows hilarious, but those (as with food) are a matter of personal taste. That is another one of the things that you want to get there early if you want a good seat. Sometimes, the line was very long, but it did move quickly when the doors opened.
They have dive-in movies, but I am not really into that so much.
Live music everywhere, and it’s good.
They have the usual parties and such, and we had a blast.
Check out reviews by Saint Greg (also check his travel blog), Jamman54, and sid_9169. They’ve all sailed Mardi Gras and do awesome reviews with a lot of great pics and info.

To me it sounds like you are communicating with a company fraudulently pretending to be carnival.
100% this. I am sorry to tell you, but you have been scammed. All the time, scammers send checks to people hoping they will cash them. When they do, the scammers get your bank information, cancel the check, and then completely empty your bank account. I would be vigilant in checking your bank accounts each day.
As for the emails, they may look legit, but sometimes, scammers create fake email addresses and replace certain parts of email addresses hoping people won’t notice. Look on-line for phishing scams and see how people think it is coming from a legit email, but it is not. What telephone number are you calling? Is it one provided in the email from “Carnival” about the reimbursement, or is it from Carnival’s actual web page? Some phishers will even create a web page that looks like the legit one, and will email you a link to their fake web site so you think it is real. You click on the link, and you are in their web site and give them all kinds of information.
I don’t know how these people got your information, but they did. Maybe someone hacked into Carnival, Westjet, or however you booked this (travel agent). As the other poster stated, Carnival is refusing to reimburse them for airfare, so you have definitely been scammed. The broken language in their message to you is even more of a tip off. I am sorry to be such a downer and give you this information, but you should be contacting the police to file a report. They may tell you there is nothing they can do, but at least you will have a police report on file in case anything else happens (emptying your bank account).
Unfortunately, scammers and phishers are very good at what they do.
