Is there just 1 gala night on a 7 day cruise?

Are there any private tour operators in Sydney that have tours of the Fortress? We'd like to visit, but would also like time in the town and not sure that a ships tour will allow for this.

We don't mind the smaller ships. We go for the ports, so we don't need all kinds of crazy things on the ship that we would never do anyway (now our teenage son may have a different opinion on that!)

Ours too! Also our first HAL Cruise, so I have lots of things to investigate! I've never booked a cruise this close to sailing before so I feel so behind in my research[emoji50]

Thanks. We will be in Veendam and would love it if it was still there! It used to the Prinsendam and the S & R ships (Volendam, Maasdam, Rotterdam, Veendam, Amsterdam & Zaandam).I say used to be as I think I read a thread where one of ths ships closed the self serve laundry but my memory is short. Hopefully someone has a better memory than I.
But the above list is it in a nutshell.

and.... if you are sailing on a ship with a self serve laundry room, it is only $2 for a wash and $1 to dry the clothes.

I read on one (or more) of these threads that taxi fare to downtown was fixed ($40 I believe). Is this per person?

Could you provide more details about your plans? It looks like you live in Illinois and are planning for 3 of you to sail on the Veendam from Montreal on Sat June 2 and return to Boston on Sat June 9. To give you the best advice, we need to understand the big picture since this is not the usual park/cruise scenario.
What is your hotel/parking budget? Which exact date do you need a hotel in Boston? Do you have sightseeing objectives in Boston pre or post cruise? Are you flying to Montreal and if so, when?
I'm assuming your high level plan is to drive from Illinois to Boston, ditch your car for 8 days, fly to Montreal, cruise to Boston, collect your car, and drive home to Illinois.
Carol, you are correct. The plan is to drive to Boston, fly to Montreal and then drive back to Illinois when we debark. No plans to stay in Boston this trip. Thinking we will head to Montreal a day early. After thinking about it, I'm thinking we'd probably be better with a park and fly near the airport and then just cabbing it back after the cruise.

Are there any park and cruise hotels in Boston?

Are there any park and cruise hotels near the Boston pier?

Thank you Kazu and Miss G!!

Internet was decent on Maasdam in December but expensive since you buy the service by the minute.

First time on HAL....no package deals on internet?

How accurate are these informational posts in this sticky from 2014? Is it time for an update from 4 years ago or do these still apply?
Booking our first cruise on HAL and was wondering the same thing as it pertained to bringing water, soda and wine onboard.
