  1. Hi guys only me again, just looking at the West Quay multistorey parking. It says it isn't designed for overnight parking and 6 hours max. Am I reading it right online? I'm parking in Southampton tomorrow so was just double checking and now a bit concerned!

  2. Hi guys

I am looking for a bit of advice on the retreat on board Ventura.

I have tried googling it and on the P & O website however I can't get much info.

It's my birthday onboard and would generally never consider it but as it is a special occasion I'm curious.

What exactly do you get for your £20?

Any experience of anyone who has used it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kris ☺️

  3. I always leave the auto tips on because the colleagues work so god damn hard 24/7 and deserve every penny.

I also tip at the end of the cruise giving an envelope to the cabin steward the main dining waiters and the wine waiter. As they consistently give us a great service on the traditional dining and nothing is ever too much!

    Hope this is of use!

  4. We had a balcony on Azura last year for the Fjørds and I can say it was stunning having our own personal view. Sailing into port in the morning and walking out into the balcony with those stunning vistas was breathtaking. I normally don't take balcony but I'm so glad we did because it added to the experience of the cruise. I know inside of the way to go money wise to give you more onboard but I really think it depends on the destination. Hope I was of help... The crucks of it is beautiful scenery equals balcony, sailing into industrial ports inside acceptable.

  5. We took cans of pepsi and irn bru onboard for our cabin use and nothing was said.

Was great in the evening being able to just open one or first thing in the morning before breakfast.

I dunno about alcohol though I've never tried it so will be interesting to see what replies we get on here for future reference 🌝

  6. Hi Guys

Wondering what experience you guys have had with the WiFi package.

I am looking to do the full cruise plan which I know is £10 a day but I'm willing to spend extra as I have a good amount of onboard credit as we are on a 12 night cruise.

What I want to know is, is it worth it? Especially on sea days as we have 5 days in total.

I will probably be using it for Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

Is it worth it or more like an intermittent signal?

Any experience of the WiFi would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  7. Hi Everyone

We are booked on N733 Ventura sailing to the canaries on 27th November.

Was just wondering as I can't seem to find any solid information on weather and temperatures to know what to pack.

We aren't sun bathers we are culture vultures but last year in November we did Iberia and it was pretty miserable weather getting soaked on a few excursions so we opted for the canaries for a bit of warmer sun.

We don't hit the canaries till 1st December (my birthday) so does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the canaries at the start of December?

Thanks in advance for the info

    Kris ☺️

  8. Fantastic that's great I'm glad it's positive experiences all round although i would just have a hand luggage bag for a change of clothes. Why would you take your full luggage unless you needed to outta curiosity?

    Thanks

  9. Hi Guys

I am driving down to Southampton from Scotland and it was our first time last year doing the drive.

I want to know has anyone had any dealings with parking at West Quay the night before. We are booked into CPS and are staying overnight so I'm looking for somewhere to leave the car overnight before we book it in and saw that the West Quay offers 24hrs for £5.

Just wondering if it's safe enough or if anyone had any issues?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks Kris ;p

  10. We are leaving from the Ocean Terminal this year and are looking at car parking as we've chosen the onboard spend this time.

We used CPS Cruise & Passenger Services but they are quoting £135 for our 12 night so I searched and there is the Triangle Car Park which seems to be unmanned but has CCTV which is £111 so a saving of £24 and only 2 minutes of a difference.

Has anyone had any dealings either good or bad to help us make a decision?

    Many Thanks

    Kris

  11. What is it about flying that you dont like?

Having flown between Southampton and Glasgow & Edinburgh MANY times, I think flying from Scotland to the South Coast of England is SO much easier then taking the train with luggage and possible multiple changes etc

The journey time between Glasgow and Southampton Airports is only 1hour 15 mins or so

Would ALWAYS be my preferred option personally

It's the fear of flying I'm just not good at it so it was much less pressure driving down not stressful are all which I was surprised about !

  12. Hi

I am travelling from Scotland and it's the first time we have drove down normally we get a flight however I'm not a great flyer and wanted to take opportunity on the baggage allowance being more laxed.

However driving from Scotland to the other side of the country seems a tad daunting.

I have Google mapped it and it seems OK taking 7 hours however I saw on another thread that part of a motorway was closed at the weekend near Southampton.

Does anyone have any info on driving to Southampton or the roads etc we are driving down on Tuesday hoping to avoid rush hour but any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated !

    Thanks

    Kris

  13. I have recently within the last month gave up caffeine for health benefits and I normally have a soda package but wondered is there any alternatives caffeine free coke etc?

I'm sailing on Ventura and wondering if it's worth getting the package?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  14. Thing is with BOB it can be flat calm or bumpy at any time of year. Just be prepared with seasickness tablets (sturgeon) -sea bands-ginger or anything else that would help.

Which ship are you on, some ride the waves better than others.

Do not worry about what the sea may be like...just look forward to the cruise, but be prepared and you will be fine.

If you can chose your cabin, midships lower down has the least movement

We're on Ventura on an Iberian cruise. So going from Southampton towards Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal. We did Azura in North Sea which was OK no issues really but I've heard horror stories on the Bay of Biscay so would want to be prepared!

    Thanks

  15. Hi guys

I am wondering if any of you can share your thoughts and experiences of sailing through the bay of biscay as any time I've left from Southampton it's been a Fjørd cruise.

I've cruised for many a year however never from Southampton to do an Iberian cruise and a tad worried as it's at the end of November!

Bit worried about the first day or two at sea as some people have said it can be quite rocky.

Thanks in advance any info would be greatly appreciated [emoji4] [emoji572] [emoji569]
