  1. Hi CC community

We are on Oasis at the moment and we have passes to Atlantis Resort in Nassau tomorrow but not through the cruise line. I’m just wondering if anyone has recommendations as to the best way to get to the resort from the port without getting ripped off/scammed? Should we pre book transfer or is it easy to sort it out once off the boat.

    Thanks all 🙂

Before offending others you should try to read your own post about an „entire fleet of ships over 200,000 GT“. Enjoy your waterparks!

My comprehension skills are just fine, it seems like it may be you who needs to go back to English class. I said having an entire ships over 200,000 GT would not likely be feasible… but yes you can still put a water park on a ship much smaller; look at MSC, Norwegian, carnival, Disney etc… it’s royal Caribbean btw, if you’re offended by a waterpark the celebrity cruises page is just a few clicks away. Now leave me alone!

This is about smaller new ships who are able to reach nicer ports around the World and not about more Monsters who do standard Caribbean runs. With such a standardized fleet of Monsters Royal can delete most areas like Northern Europe, Eastern Med, Alaska and Canada from their itineraries.

Thanks old man, not really sure how anything I said negates the ship being smaller and being able to go to more exotic ports but go off.

  4. This is exciting news, I was wondering how feasible it would be to basically have an entire fleet consisting of ships over 200,000 gt. What would you guys like to see for these new ships? Personally I’d love:

    • a proper promenade deck with restaurants bars hot tubs
    • Big swimming pools like on the edge and icon
    • A solarium up the front with no aqua theatre
    • solo rooms with a lounge for solo travellers
    • a water park and if physically possible a lazy river of sorts
  5. Hi there,

My friend and I are travelling on OTS in January and I just got an email saying the pre-sail savings for all the purchases you can make before the cruise is ending tomorrow? Is that actually correct or are you able to make discounted purchases online up until your cruise day?

    Thanks,

    Nick

  6. Hi there,

My friend and I will be cruising on the Oasis in January and are really eager to visit Atlantis Resort for the day (its been a life long dream for both of us). Obviously prices are crazy right now, both through Royal Caribbean and through Atlantis itself, however after doing some research I noticed that the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island gives you access to the Atlantis Resort including the water park for just under half the price (for 2 adults).

I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting into Atlantis for the day using this method and if so how it actually works in reality. Specifically, I'm wondering:

    • If we selected our check-in day for the day of our port visit would that give us a full days access to Atlantis?
    • Would it matter if we weren't there the next day to 'check-out'?
    • Generally, how much extra effort would this require? I would imagine we'd have to go to the hotel first to 'check-in' and get our passes but is there anything else we would need to be aware of to make this work?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

  7. Hi there,

My Oasis cruise in January stops at Nassau, and my friend and I are keen to go to Atlantis. At the moment the tour prices are around $200pp on the Royal app. Is there an option to book directly with the resort or another agency that would make it cheaper. $200 seems like a lot for a day at a waterpark with a dozen slides.

    Many thanks

I'd expect a better deal.  I just saw my Harmony cruise drop from bouncing between 77.99 and 72.99 unexpectedly drop to 67.99

Does this cruise include stops at any of the private islands? I imagine that would add to the cost of the drinks package.

Probably a high chance in the future, especially as Icon class continues to grow. It will take time for all ports to adopt an Oasis standard, but the latest Brisbane cruise terminal was built to handle Oasis class, so it is likely that it would homeport there. As Wonder was originally supposed to go to China, maybe they would consider doing a split deployment where an Oasis class spends 6 months in China and then 6 months in Aus.

7 day South Pacific cruises out of Brisbane would be nice. Could do stops at Noumea and maybe one day the new private island without tendering, and surely they could help fund upgrades to other ports there.

  10. Hi there - my friend and I just booked a 7 night cruise on the Oasis of the Seas departing Miami next January.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the prices for the unlimited dining/drinks etc. that I see online and in the app are in USD or AUD? It doesn't specify. I imagine USD however I'm not sure if they automatically change based on your IP address location.

    Thanks!

  11. Hi cruisers,

My friend and I are about to book a sailing next January on Norwegian Breakaway out of New Orleans. At the moment the price for an aft-facing balcony and a club spa balcony suite are about the same, and we can't decide what would be better for us. Some things to note for us:

    • We will want spa access throughout the cruise, so most likely would buy a week long pass if we didn't get the spa balcony suite
    • We really like the bathroom layout and the additional shower nozzles in the club spa balcony
    • We're somewhat concerned with the size of the balcony, obviously the side facing balconies on these ships are really small. We don't need a tonne of space, but would be nice to be able to stretch out, eat room services etc. on the balcony
    • It appears the only club spa balcony suites are on deck 14 (right below the Lido deck). Should we be concerned about noise travelling down?

Would love to hear anythings thoughts/suggestions. We love the idea of having a larger, aft-facing balcony but we also love the idea of having a bigger bathroom/better shower and free spa access, so we're just a bit stumped.

We prefer Royal, hated NCL Breakaway.  That is ranked as our worst cruise out of all of them. We would be willing to try a different NCL ship, maybe a smaller ship.

Can I ask why you hated the Breakaway so much?

  13. Some things I like about the Icon (and my feelings are overwhelmingly positive):

    - The new neighbourhood layout. I think the design will really spread out the crowds, particularly on sea days, which hopefully means finding lounges/spots in pools will hopefully be a lot easier.

    - The Waterpark - wow, this is by far the most impressive waterpark at sea, and I do love waterslides so I can see myself making a lot of use of these.

    - The Hideaway pool. It looks incredible, a very instagram worthy shot, and a decent sized pool as well.

    - Surfside is definitely an improvement compared to the boardwalk. Hopefully that keeps most of the kids away from the top pool deck. 🤪

    - The amount of focus on pools/water. I feel like bigger cruise ships have been moving away from that in favour of other activities, however on a cruise in the carribean I want to be lounging by the pool, getting wet etc.

    - The Swim Up bar will be a treat

Some things I'm not sure about:

    - I do love having an adults only outdoor deck, however I don't see why the pool couldn't be a little bit bigger and why there is only one hot hub

    - I was hoping the Aquatheatre would be able to transform in the day to be an adults only indoor pool. Seems like an oversight in the design.

    - While I love the additional sea views/glass in the promenade area, I don't understand why its being blocked by the Pearl, which at the moment just seems like a glorified staircase/art installation

    - No proper promenade deck that we've seen on the new Norwegian and Carnival ships.
