Thanks also! We did an Alla Tours here a couple of years ago, the tour was a very reasonable price, but I did not double back to look again & shop in the artisan's shops which were so interesting. The leather and textiles were noteworthy.

We went last summer and ABSOLUTELY buy your tickets in advance or online and be prepared! There are lines to buy tickets as well as get in, so make sure you find the right one. There are two sides to enter as well, so find that shorter line.
Also, hold on to your ticket because there are bathrooms that run between the ticketed and nonticketed areas, and the guards make you show your ticket again at some points. ( that also makes it hard to remember where you agreed to meet after the potty break!)
We spent 6+ hours there and saw everything- in fact, left for lunch at an outside cafe and returned. There were lines for the cafe, too. The "Hall of Fame", most famous paintings, is often crowded, but the rest of the museum is not.
My favorite museum is the Hermitage outpost in Amsterdam, usually very interesting 6 month long exhibits.

YOu may not have noticed but Alla Tours send you back a signin and a password and they communicate thru their own portal.
They do not use standard email, so they probably have replied on thier own site.
That may be a little quirky, but thats how they do business.
We had excellent tour guides in their 5 day package including the 2 day "Grand Tour" in St. P, in summer 2012 Prinsendam, and are booking them again for the Eurodam in July 2014.

have also been in those subway stations and rode it with Alla Tours twice ( great company, BTW, had marvelous guides with excellent English). A fellow cruiser was pickpocketed on the subway- he never suspected or felt a thing!
