Yes, both hubby and I are vaccinated, but neither of us has the booster, so we have to test on thursday instead of wednesday, for a sailing on a saturday. 😎
-
We have only sailed on birth cert. But initially we brought the marr cert just in case. Have never had anybody look at it. If your legal name is on your DL and bith cert you should be okay.

LOVED our spa room. Had it for the first time ever last year. Was an interior room, but just a lot of things are free, the T-pool, the steam and sauna rooms, the lounge , and of course it is close to the everything. The showers were fantastic and the pool T-pool on Breeze could have fit easily 20 people but very rarely had more than 2 - 3 there whenever we were there. Sometimes were the only people there!. 2-3 decks below the Serenity deck and just above deck 10. Loved it so much we booked another for our 2021 cruise. 🙂

Booked spa interior 1st time last year and now I always look for it to be available. Cost a little more but SOOO worth it. Even wo paying for anything special the T-Pool alone was worth it. anyone ever book sideways room 12022? these are not upper/lower configuration, are they?
-
has anybody had an interior room on breeze? on deck 12? were these regular interior rooms? We got re assigned as our ship changed from radiance to Breeze and now we appear to be on deck 12 instead of deck 11? currently re assigned to room 12022.

DH and I have been on both ships - and each has its pros and cons. The one think I liked most about the Sensation is that it has the open deck behind the buffet area. You can literally sit out there and enjoy the sun and the ocean passing by - the Victory does not have the "open area" at the back of the deck to just sit and see the ocean. They also have tables and chairs on side of the boat to eat at which is another plus as it is right on the water.
As a previous writer indicated Victory has lots more individual items to do and enjoy but in my opinion very limited outside seating areas. Most are inside and you are looking out windows all the time.
Either way the food was great and the trip will be awesome - so enjoy whichever one you decide!

Thanks so much for sharing! We sail on her on 12/12 and can hardly wait. We were on the sister ship the Ecstasy for our very first cruise and loved it - especially that you can sit out by the back near the buffet at a table and just look out over the ocean with no windows. This will be our 5th cruise but my daughters 1st and she is soo excited. Thanks again for the great Video!

Thanks! - do we need to call ahead and reserve a spot at the port or just go on the day of the cruise and park there?
-
We are in state cruisers - but have never sailed out of Jacksonville before. We would like to use the port parking but not sure if we need to reserve a spot in advance.
Also as an alternative - we have used park and go's in the past but were very disappointed in the one in Miami not because the parking was not good but the shuttle service back to the parking lot after the cruise was terrible.
Suggestions on either of the above questions most appreciated

Question - since we are speaking of transport to the Jax port - I have never been there before but we live in state and will only need to drive and park. Do we need to make a reservation at the port parking lot or an we just drive up, oark and unload our bags? Also does anybody have any suggestions for park and go lots in the area - they are usually how we go but have not have great experience with th eons in Miami - take too long to pick up you after the cruse - last time we waiting an hour and had to finally call them to come and get us so we could drive home. Any suggestsion/comments? All comments are welcome.

thanks to all who replied to my question - I basically was looking at this from a can we be within a decent walking distance vs missing this boat cause they over booked the room and now we cannot get on. or as many of you posted really "bad" locations abound. I agree sometimes you can get a good outcome, but would not want to bet the farm on it. thanks again for all the comments as I said before, you are all the best. ! : O

Thank you so very much for asking this - we are contemplating putting 3 adults and 1 teenager in a single room - and this has definitely gone a long way to helping me decide against it. This will be my teen daughgters first cruise with mom in law along with us. Thanks again! was thinking of doing the ocean view for 4 but decided against it. :D

We are looking to try for a sailing out of prt Canaveral early 2016 Jan to march around that time. At this point the better rates seem to be letting them "pick the room" for us. I am anxious as my mother in law will be sailing with us for the first time and would rather not have a snafu. Has anybody ever had an issue when carnival picks the room for you? ANY responses will be welcome (am aware this is under the "stupid question" category - pls be kind. thanks fellow cruisers you are all the best!

I live in the Brevard county area which encompasses port Canaveral - If you are disembarking in Port Canaveral and need to reach Ft Lauderdale for the embark - have you considered renting a car? It is a distance and probably not serviced by tram service or rental buses - only a taxi maybe - which would be prohibitively expensive. I would rent a car and drop it off in ft Lauderdale.

The bird is called a Brown Pelican. They are pretty common around here. Factoid: the first bird sanctuary was named Pelican Island located in Indian river county, by President Theodore Roosevelt. He was a great outdoorsman and put aside many locations and parks for our future generations.

So glad you have given a completely thorough review! Thanks muchly! We live near to Port Canaveral and many times have wanted to sail out of here - but wind up sailing out of Miami instead. Was interested when the Sunshine came to port as we thought "at last - an affordable larger ship" (the dream was a bit out of reach initially for our little budget). But I have seen many many negative reviews. Even your review, in my humble opinion, was very negative for a ship as large and as newly furbished as this was.
My question to you was - if you had a teenager - says 16 yrs old - would you make this their first cruise with you? She has been wanting and wanting to cruise with us, and DH does not want to sail out of Miami again, so I thought maybe we would chance going on Sunshine - but I am constantly hearing "its a good ship - BUT......".
As a recent Sunshine cruiser - what is your take on that?
Again, thanks for the review!

We were on this one last January and are sailing her again this coming Jan 2015. One thing to be wary of is there is only 1 deck which goes from front to back. Get a map of the layout of the ship and carry it with you. We had a really hard time with the layout because of this but everything else was great. We enjoyed the comedy club but remember to get there really early or you will be standing room only! The food was good, and the crew is very very nice.

36 loooong days till we sail away on the Victory! :)

It is quite possible that there was misunderstanding on both ends of this issue. Sounds like the elderly folks misunderstood that this was the "self assist" and not the "assist" line; and the Port people did not understand that they were just waiting to get into the line to get their baggage, and made them wait till the end (not cool! Port people! customer service should always be job 1). It is also possible that if the OP did not have their "zone" card then the port folks are just going to shuffle them to the side till they have more time to deal with them. Sounds mean, I know, but 4000 disembarking folks is a lot of people at once.

Thanks for the comparison review! I have always sailed with Carnival not because we think they are the best, necessarily, but because they fit the budget the best. I have often wondered if we were missing out on a more spectacular ride with RCCL but now that I have read your review I believe we are good with not spending the extra $$.. I saw you had little ones, if you can ever scrape the funds together for all of you I would go Disney at least one time. Thanks again for the review! :D

Lucky Dog! This will be our 4th cruise (in Jan 2015) and we are not quite there yet for the gold. (you could says we are "going for the gold" ha ha). :):)Very happy we paid off the cruise today for January and we are all set to go.

I have not paid off my balance for my cruise - and see the same cruise for about $100 less than I am paying - same ship, same date and same ports. I need the onboard credit form to see if we can get a drop in price. I had this and somehow we lost it on the computer. If Anybody has the website for the onboard credit form I would Greatly appreciate it if you could send it my way. thank you all in advance. Love this site - have learned so much since I found you and have become a cruiser! //Fran

I understand that they are angry they cannot get off the boat, but referring to the post below that said many cannot get off due to tendering issues; I wondered if anybody had issues getting back ON the boat due to bad weather and tendering issues?? now that would be cause for some upset, no??
