  1. NCL cancelled my cruise that was scheduled for 3/21 on 3/13. I filled out a form on 3/13 saying I wanted the cash back option. I still have not received my refund.

I paid for the cruise on 2/14, so my 60 day window for a charge back was closing so I decided to fill out the chargeback on my banks website just in case.

I don't mind waiting the 90 days if I know for sure I'm getting the refund, but wanted insurance with my bank in case it doesn't go through.

Math is math.  We are rapidly approaching a point where it will be a significant possibility that there will be at least one infected person on board and where crew all will have been in proximity to infected people.

Cruising is not sustainable right now.  It is really just a matter of time.  Until then, those who do not recognize the risk they present to others simply are not going to be convinced and it is very hard to shake people who think it is only a matter of their personal health into understanding that social distancing has little to do with the robust but everything to do with the weakest in the herd.

There will be a self reckoning eventually.  People will have to look hard in the mirror.  Math is math.  If you have elderly people you care about, do not let them go anywhere near anyone who has cruised in the last 14 days.

Very good point. After all this, do they want to be the cruise line that shut down BEFORE there was an incident? Sounds like good PR, although, the public forgets very quickly. It does seem like it is just a matter of time until they are affected.

  3. We are scheduled on the Escape for the 21st of March, and I really don't want to go anymore....no buffet, cancelled ports due to weather, activities shutting down. I'm not all that afraid of the virus or quarantine, but the atmosphere of the cruise just won't be as fun with all the cancellations and worry over germs. My daughter and I don't drink or gamble, so I'm not sure what we would even do.

  4. I'm live near the Seattle nursing home  where most of the deaths have come from, so I might actually be safer on a ship...Though, maybe ya'll wouldn't want me! We leave on the 21st and I  and my other half work from home so quarantining on ship wouldn't be an issue and I've been pretty much self quarantining anyway as it doesn't feel all that safe here.

I'm still so torn. Guess I have a couple of weeks to decide.

  5. Yah, the arbitrary date seems kind of unfair.

I'm sitting, looking at all my new purchases and packed bags all ready for my trip with my daughter on the 21st and it is hard not to start crying. I will probably reschedule, but I'm not convinced things will even get better in the next two years.
