  1. You might want to check out the Pros and Cons comparison on Cruise Critic of Glacier Bay vs. Hubbard Glacier. We are Elite status with Celebrity however decided to sail on Princess in Alaska in 2014 and will again this year with our adult children for the same reasons mentioned by many others above. In our opinion, Glacier Bay should not be missed when visiting Alaska.

  2. Thanks as well for your thoughts, likewise we have considered Viking but have decided to stay with Celebrity/Azamara (in Europe) for now. Even though our last Azamara cruise in January (Miami to Cuba, through the Canal and ending in Costa) was enjoyable, we (at 61 and 64) were on the younger side. We're not big gamblers but think we would miss not having the option to play the machines before or after dinner.

  3. Fertours2cuba

We joined this tour with another couple who had booked with Fernando and were greeted by our guide, Alain, who spoke perfect English, provided an in depth commentary on the history of Cuba, Havana, and many of its beautiful buildings. He clearly had an in depth understanding of Cuban history as every question we asked was answered without hesitation. The four of us (who are fairly well traveled) agreed that this was the best tour we had ever taken. We enjoyed a delicious Cuban lunch at a local restaurant we would not found on our own, what a fun and interesting experience that was to be in the heart of Havana enjoying lunch among the local people. Our tour was concluded with a drive around the city in a pink convertible. I will never forget our day in Havana and highly recommend Fertours for an memorable day there.

  4. My husband and I are currently booked on the Celebrity Eclipse Antartica cruise in January 2019 and are thinking of switching to the Azamara Pursuit sailing.

Can anyone advise if a larger ship may be better in rough seas?

Neither of us are prone to sea sickness however, we've never experienced really rough seas.

I have some concern about the number of passengers disembarking from the Eclipse in the small ports and would definitely prefer the Pursuit there on that.

While we've enjoyed sailing Celebrity, we prefer Azamara.

Any input is appreciated, likewise, we are not considering a sailing with landings.

  5. We were thinking of sailing Tahiti on Windstar and decided to try a Caribbean cruise on the Wind Surf in March 2018 to see if we liked them before committing to Tahiti.

In looking on the Windstar website last week, I found no listing for our March 2018 sailing so I called them to inquire if the ship had been chartered; I was told there was no issue with our booking.

Our TA also contacted Windstar, was also given a vague response, only to be contacted by them a few days later to be told that our sailing had been chartered.

Windstar provided a full refund, but no incentive to rebook another cruise despite our TA's advising them that we were experienced cruisers and of our interest in booking Tahiti in addition to the Caribbean sailing.

Very disappointing, not sure if we will decide to try Windstar again.

  6. We have sailed Aqua class on our last 3 Celebrity cruises, are Elite Status, and have yet been able to use the Persian Garden.

On one cruise, my husband had a seat for a few minutes after his massage.

I joined him by taking the chair next to him after my massage.

Within 5 minutes a couple emerged from the sauna claiming the chairs we had were theirs.

We left as we did not want to cause a scene.

Celebrity needs to do a better job on limiting the usage time or discontinue promoting it as an Aqua class "perk"/selling PG chair usage.

  7. Was the hostess the dark haired woman from the Ukraine? I forget her name. She was excellent and a real sweetheart! All the waitstaff in Infinity Blu were the best ever!

The hostess in Blu on our Infinity Pacific coast sailing was from the Maldives.

We were greeted by name each morning and evening.

There was a short line a few evenings, she would take names so couples could go to the bar and would come to get them when their table was ready.

We have not waited more than 15 minutes for a table on the three Aqua class cruises we've taken.

We ate a couple lunches in the MDR on the last cruise and feel the quality of food there was not as good as it had been on past cruises.

  8. Passengers on the 5/30/16 Quest sailing (12 nights Nice to Southampton) were advised that a future cruise credit value = 2 nights would be provided due to the ship's inability to sail to and dock in Seville due to a propeller issue.

We were not advised that any restrictions may apply.

We received our FCC voucher yesterday which is noted that:

    1) The sailing must be taken by 6/30/17

    2) Is not redeemable for inaugural or holiday sailings

We booked an 11 night early January 2018 cruise while on board thinking we would use the FFC.

Our TA is checking with Azamara on this.

We are wondering if other passengers also booked a post 6/30/17 Azamara sailing while on board thinking they would use the FFC.

  9. Hi Bonnie,

The Honfleur Explorer guide currently posted on Azamara's website shows the top 3 Land Discoveries as:

    1) Paris sightseeing w/lunch

    2) Mont-Saint Michel

    3) Deauville and Pays D'Auge

So it's curious to me as to why none of these excursions are being offered by Azamara.

Personally, we are not interested in visiting the D Day landing beaches, we were there on a private tour a few years ago.

However, I understand other passengers' interest as it was a very moving and memorable experience for us.

Can you also advise on why none of the excursions noted above are being offered?
