  1. Just off the Serenade of the Sea found the bed in the wheelchair accessible room to be extremely low.. any ideas or suggestions of which cruiseline may have higher beds in accessible cabins?

The beds on Disney are very high.

  2. Did you have your wine in carry on or checked bag? We are local, so no flying.

My sister and her husband were on this sailings and their luggage arrived soaked in wine. They are not wine drinkers. Someone else had packed their wine in checked luggage and it did not survive the loading process. HAL did clean their clothes and bag, but some staining did remain.

  3. Yes. I will be gate checking and we’re flying Delta all the way.

So, it basically sounds like the chair will be waiting for me when I get off...and therefore shouldn’t slow down our connection at all. Does that sound right?

Ideally, it is waiting. Sometimes it takes a while for items to be unloaded from cargo and brought up the steps to the loading ramp. I travel with a rollater. They usually have strollers and car seats along with gate checked mobility devices to unload.

  4. I have sailed solo twice on sister ship Millennium, once for 11 nights and once for 17 nights. I did not notice if there were scheduled solo meets, but would not have gone if there were. You meet people at meals, lounges, trivia. Most people are friendly and I never felt lonely. Be open to meeting people with a smile and you will have a great time

  5. I sailed the Silhouette this past week and I have a comment and suggestion. First, I am sorry for your late dining experience. My sister and I had late dining with a 10 top and almost everyone was there every night. We enjoyed our table mates tremendously. So sorry your experience was not as good. Dining can be hit or miss as far as table mates are concerned.

We also had a forward cabin and circumvented the deck 5 milieu by using the outside promenade on that deck. The view is blocked from the life boats through most of it, but it was quick and easy. There are some nice open seating at each end, giving you a comfortable sea viewing area.

We had a wonderful time and I rebooked the ship for next year onboard.

  6. Good to know.

Did they have any silver jewelry? That tends to be better priced for less than wealthy people like myself. :)

I thought the selection was somewhat limited. The shop features other brands of jewelry also. What I saw was on the higher end.

  7. I have not been on Jade, but I sailed last year on the Jewel, which is the same class. The ship size is good, making it easy to get around. The public spaces are comfortable. But the cabins are tiny, especially the bathrooms and shower. I did not have an accessible cabin. I have sailed on other lines (Disney, Celebrity, Princess and Carnival) so I have a basis for comparison.
