  1. We did this last March and we're assigned two different rooms, went to the front desk and asked if we could stay in the first room for the second cruise.  They checked and since nobody was booked in the room we were in they let us stay.  Last January we had to move, not a big deal the Stewart's will move everything from one closet to the other, just need to pack up the rest and they will move you.  Not a big deal just takes a bit of time to throw things back in a suitcase then unpack again but at least the closet stuff is already done

I'm confused. If you don't get the emails, then how are you eligible?

I've only booked one casino offer and that was after receiving the offer by mail addressed to me personally with the name of a cruise consultant. Can anyone who manages to find the list go ahead and book?

You just need to call the casino number on the List of the HEPcode and give them the number and the cruise you would like.  They will look up your account and let you know if you qualify for the free cruise or not.  We did not receive the last offer in June, however when I saw it on here I called and sure enough we were able to book a free cruise.  Worth the phone call, the worst they can say is no you don't qualify.

  3. Can someone please help me.  I am trying to figure out if it is cheaper to buy an internet package online prior to cruising or is it the same onboard?  We have 5 star discount when purchasing.  Cost right now shows 239 for 21-25 days.  Thank you

The issue goes beyond flying.  What if you have to abandon ship?  Individuals with mobility problems exponentially increase the risk to the crew and fellow passengers.  We are currently on the WC and there is a fairly large group who not only can’t/won’t fly but would have major issues in any significant emergency.

My solution is using a process similar to expedition cruises were you need a medical evaluation completed prior to sailing.  Not what the cruise lines want but at least you would have some minimal level of physical fitness.

Agreed, i dont know how many times we've gone to the life boat drill and watched as people with scooters or walkers complain about having to be outside for the 30 mins or so it takes for the drill and insist on being allowed to sit inside.  What would they do in a real emergency, they wouldnt be able to get in the lifeboats without being a danger to themselves or others.  I believe the cruise industry should revamp their medical requirements for cruising as well

    That's a nice perk! I didn't know about that.

This perk is only for cruisers in certain caregories and also only from the US and Canada.  Doesnt apply to cruisers from other countries do not sure of the logistics in getting all that luggage all the way back to North America, some ppl bring a lot of stuff

  6. Never had an issue buying as many beer as I wanted, they will sometimes keep them behind the bar for you to stay cold or an ice bucket.  If you don't drink them all you can take back to your room unopened and if you don't have a fridge, I have never had a problem switching a warm one for a cold one at the bar.  Cheers

  7. Sure - a bucket of beer (6) is as follows: Miller Lite & Bud Lite, Bud, American brands are $40.00. Corona, Heineken and Amstel beer are $37.50 for 6.

Gin and tonic (Bombay with three cans of tonic) is $46.25

Tangueray Gin (on it's own - no tonic) is $52.50

Wow I can't believe the price difference, last year on the VOV a bucket of beer cost $28!!! Unbelievable

  8. Not sure about a policy change but this did happen two years ago when we booked the Grand Med. We didn't get the 3% until October. But the good news is the TA supervisor came through and we were informed last night that we should be receiving a cheque in the next 5 - 10 days. Great news, however it shouldn't have taken us fighting for it to get it!!! Might be looking for another TA next time around!!

  9. As I recall, you got an early bird discount of 3% if you paid in full by June 1st. I didn't do it but I just thought you'd pay 3% less when you paid up. ..no refund involved.

    Did they tell you different?

The first time we booked a Grand Voyage they just deducted the 3% from our final payment.

The last time we had to wait until October when HAL sends the commission cheque to the cruise company that sold us the trip. However no issues we received the cheque.

This is a different company and the TA we had has since left the company and now we are fighting to get the 3% back.

We did pay by Jun 1st, in order to get the discount.

  10. We are having difficulty getting the cruise company we booked with to reimburse us the 3% early payment discount which we are entitled to. When we paid in full by the due date, we were told that a cheque for the discount would be sent in October. We still have not received it and have called the company. They are acting like they have never heard of this before and the situation is now in the hands of the supervisor. Has anyone else experienced this?? We have never had difficulties in the past getting the discount!!
