We will be on the Royal Princess, according to the itinerary we arrive in Juneau at 8am and depart at 9pm. June 25th. This we would be booking ourselves since on the royal there is no ship excursion to Tracy arm fjord. No problem for us getting off the ship early. Just a few concerns such as getting back to ship in plenty of time (I don’t do good if I have to run and worry about getting back to ship to board the royal, panic sets in for me), it will be tight time wise to get to tour and not sure about being on the tour boat for 8.5 hours, that’s a long time but everyone’s opinion seems to be that this is well worth it.
Does anyone know if princess ever adds more excursions as the sail date gets closer?

We did a Amalfi coast, Sorrento, lunchin postiano, and Pompeii in one day we used Rome in limo, they are excellent and we had a tour guide for Pompeii. I would highly recommend using them (Rome in limo). We had a full day, no problems getting back to ship in plenty of time. Capris the ferries were on strike so we could no go to capris, we hear that happens a lot and Rome in limo adapted our tour in which we took the amalfi coats to postiano. Everything was amazing! Having a tour guide for Pompeii really helped I think we spent at lesat 2 hours there of course one can spend many hours there, we made sure we got there early and it was not crowded. I’m sure whatever you choose to do will be amazing.

Has anyone done the adventure bound tour out of Juneau, Tracy arm tour (on your own not through cruise company) that can tell me if this is doable with enough time to the tour from port and back in time without worries of being late. I am on royal princess that is at port by 8:00am and the ship departs Juneau at 9:00pm. The adventure bound tour says to board the tour boat at 8:15 and return at 6:00. I have done in the past DIY tours in the past (not Alaska, this is our first time to Alaska) without any issues or worries. Thank you

I know this is early but I am a planner type person. We are sailing on royal princess June northbound glaciers, and I have been looking into what the best option to get from Whittier to Anchorage is, can anyone recommend which is best (below is some options I have found)?
Anchorage tours and transfers- half day post cruise transfer, 4 hours they pick up at cruise terminal and will drop you off at hotel or airport.
A.C.T. Alaska cruise transportation
7 hours includes lunch and many sights along the way pick up at cruise terminal and drop off any location in Anchorage. Leaves cruise terminal approx. 8:30am, they say we can disembark ship starting at 7:30 and a ten minute walk.
Train Alaska railroad I think 6:45pm depart and arrive Anchorage 9:15pm I have not done much research on this option, I don’t know any specifics.
Any other ideas are welcomed, we are not interested in renting a car.
We will be staying overnight in Anchorage. I am leaning towards A.C.T.
Thank you

I did not realize the OBC was pp, I thought it was per cabin? If it’s per person yes that is what I will do.
Thank you

7 nights, no only classic beverage package is offered which for the alcohol part it meets our needs.

does anyone know if cabin 9237 concierge class if the bed is next to bathroom or balcony? Are there any obstructions? This is an angle balcony which I have been told is a little larger. Thanks

trying to decide which bonus perk to choose either the classic beverage package or the gratuity package, which is the better deal.? We are not heavy drinkers but do have a few a day, plus the soda, water and coffee. Not sure which is better for your buck. Thanks

i cant decide which deck, port side mid ship, should I do marina deck or aloha deck, looking at mini suite either A410 or M24, any suggestions or even pics, thanks

I personally like formal nights/formal wear, it makes it extra special and it is nice to pamper yourself and get all dressed up. My kids in mid 20's enjoy formal nights as well. I do think however for those that cannot afford a nice evening dress that it is fine to wear evening wear not formal evening wear. Men should have no problems wearing a suit and tie for the few hours. I do not think it is acceptable to wear shorts, sneakers, flip flops and jeans to dinner. That is plain lazy. I think to save mrn on cost that nice dress slacks, button down shirt with a sports coat would be fine. Just my opinion.

That is fantastic! I checked for my cruise may 2016 allure of the seas D6 superior balcony and the rate went up $100 pp from what I paid.

I bring my own bottled water. I don't drink tap water even at home, tap water usually has a weird taste and it always upsets my stomach. Better to have bottled water than to feel I'll. We drink a lot of water in my house.

I to think you are worrying too much over little things. I am not much of a drinker I don't buy the beverage package when I want a drink I just buy one at the bar. You should be able to bring 1 or 2 bottles of wine onboard. Packing... On our 11 night cruise in Europe I had no problems packing I even had 11 pairs of shoes in my suitcase, 5 evening dresses, I packed about 5 pairs of slacks with several blouses, I had my hair dryer and flat iron in there as well as bathing suits, shorts, etc. I packed a lot in bags and took the air out. I was 4 lbs over weight and the airline let it go. I did pack a foldable bag for things I bought to bring home as a carry on. I never had to do any laundry. I flew from USA to Barcelona. I am a big coffee drinker I had no problems getting coffee and if you order room service for breakfast they bring you a full pot. Like someone said carry on your camera and laptop, that's what I did.
You are going to have a wonderful time. Enjoy your cruise and start getting excited now. Be sure to let us know how your trip was.

I thought you can bring a case of bottled water from home, put a luggage tag on it and send it with luggage and they will deliver to your cabin. And don't forget to tip the luggage porter. I will be sailing allure of the seas.

Thank you! I know most people like the bed next to balcony but we like to have the sofa next to balcony for enjoying sitting on sofa and being able to view the ocean while relaxing in room and not looking over the bed.

Ok my sweet daughter, I am ready to go back now and you are not even to the halfway mark of our trip! I would even do the exact same itinerary that is how much we loved this trip! I can't think of anything that you may have left out of the trip so far! In sorento your father and brother to a boat ride back to Naples to the ship after beers at a cafe in sorento while the rest of us explored sorento and shopping! We should have bought more stuff for ourselves especially the olive oil, next time! Can't wait to read the rest to re-live our trip again! For those of you waiting to hear about the engagement, that is how we felt waiting for Tyler to propse. Asheys dad was begining to wonder if hevwas going to propose or not. Believe me it is worth the wait here she is getting closer to the engagement :)

Great job on the trip report, honey! I am re-living our trip all over again, can't wait to do it again! Rome in limo is the best! Can't wait for your report my little miss Gino, lol, (everyone will know what I mean about that comment when you get to Pompei)!

Thanks everyone, I was not so much worried about getting back to ship as I was getting off the ship for the tour, like you said everyone wants to get off early at the same time, so we scrapped this and decided to do a post cruise trip by train to Denali. This way we get to see more of Alaska. Thanks for everyone’s advice.
