Could anyone who has sailed in the UK report about any sort of hidden speakeasy or secret party? Or if anyone sails in the next few sailings runs into this, please let me know. I heard rumors about this being a thing that Virgin does and it is right up my ally. Appreciate it. I am sailing 11/3.

Not aware of anything from the UK sailings… we were on the first, and stayed up to date during the season.

Would be cool if they do introduce it though, it’s something I’m surprised hasn’t been done on a ship yet…

  2. Be careful with that Johnnie Walker!

We noticed that it was the one bottle on our mini bar that we hadn’t seen listed on the official list from Virgin… so I checked on Rockstar chat and they told us it indeed wasn’t part of the spirit package but was chargeable at $65!

Viking Ocean are just completing their 3rd cruise and have pax counts below 50%. Not aware of any of their cruises being oversold.

Remember, to date they’d be operating under restrictions, it’s sailings from 21st June when the other cruise lines have been overselling, having assumed the restrictions would’ve been lifted…

  4. Been reading MSC, Royal Caribbean and P&O have all oversold their summer UK cruises with the expectation of restrictions easing and are now having to start cancelling some passengers - very disappointing to hear!

Waiting to see whether any other cruise lines have done the same, as we’re not currently impacted by any of these, but could well be if all cruise lines have followed suit!

Did you log in with your email address and password? I'm sailing Sept 26th, and I've already been able to do my entire online check in...

Yep, all logged in, even just uninstalled the app and tried again just to make sure I wasn’t missing something… but still getting stuck at this point

Still seems to be a lot of huge blank spaces, that aren't described... Hopefully, they'll fill some of this in soon. I've completed most of my online check in, and shore excursions have now shown up on my app. I can't wait until 45 days out, when I can finally book dining...

I’m greyed out for check in still, have you been able to access this?

We’re due to sail next month on one of the UK Summer Soirées…

I had the same trouble as you regarding shipping.

As for the lanyard you can add as many as you wish for the guests, I have 8 on my order for my wife, but it will not let me add one for myself!

Frankly as this is part of the process of "get ocean ready" I think it is very poor Princess have not fixed this yet as it was reported to them (by me) several weeks back now.

Glad to know it’s not just me, but frustrating it’s not been fixed yet!

Is it the complimentary lanyard you’ve been able to add multiples of for your wife, or just the paid for inserts? I’ve not been able to find a way to increase the complimentary lanyard on my husbands part of the order, as that could be a workaround if it doesn’t get fixed…

Interesting that it’s those of us managing the checklist / organising the medallion order that seem to be having the issue for ourselves, but able to order for others… I wonder if my husband were to log in and try to pick up where I’ve left off from his app whether he’d find he’s able to get the option for me? I suspect not, but might give it a try!

stitchcreek;  if you pick up your medallion at the port;  you can buy the accessories onboard;  so you won't have shipping charges.  It's not a big deal.  The provided lanyard is fine to wear around your neck; or just keep the medallion in your pocket.  I did both for my cruise.  I wore the lanyard on the ship and when I went ashore;  I kept medallion in my pocket

Thanks for the advice. Weirdly I can select a complimentary lanyard for my husband, but don’t get the option to add one myself…

So for the purpose of insurance cover no different to booking a UK hotel stay after May 17th.

I think it's slightly more complicated than that as, for example, Princess state "When travelling with us, insurance must include medical and repatriation cover of £2 million minimum that includes cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to Covid-19."

    They do both

Ah, I get it now... same hotel does both ports! The ‘Southampton’ in the title threw me!

I’m still struggling to price it up though, can’t find the cruise parking rate... can anyone help? Don’t know if I’m just doing something wrong!

It’s the night of the 5th August I’m looking for...

it is effective immediately.  Yes, there will be legal challenges from the corporation that owns Margaritaville, where one of the piers is located.  However, unless a judge grants a temporary injunction (which already failed once), these limits are now part of our City charter.

    Wow!

So I know cruising isn’t really happening right now anyway... but virtually all cruise lines are now going to have to change their Key West itineraries with immediate effect?

  12. Apologies you’re right, I’ve got a couple of refunds I’m chasing, one with flight only, one with package, and I got the two mixed up!

So yeah, I might just be patient and wait it out to get the full perks of credit and refund... thanks for the reply!

  13. If anyone has been following the saga of Virgin Holidays, they have a lot of frustrated customers, and they continue to move the goalposts for receiving refunds, now saying 120 days, but continuing to employ various delay tactics as that time approaches.

Chargebacks with banks are being recommended, given this considerably breaches the law that holiday packages should be refunded within 7 days.

I’ve been considering this, but as we are due a future cruise credit from Virgin Voyages, in addition to the cash refund, I’m assuming this would be in jeopardy if the refund was achieved via a chargeback rather than going through Virgin’s own refund process... does anyone have any experience with this?
