On partial transits, when in Gatun Lake, you may only get off on ship's excursions. You may not get off the ship in Gatun Lake on your own. Discussed here frequently.
After dropping people off at the Marina in Gatun Lake, the ship will go back through the Gatun Locks, and dock. Whether or not the ship offers tours there varies by cruise line. You can get off the ship, but there is little in the immediate area, and usually not time to go very far.
Thank you! I'm also reading up on this and thank you for clarifying. I guess we won't be able to learn or see the history of the panama canal unless we take a excursion with the ship.

Hi,
This will be my first time cruising to panama and on the itinerary it said cruising partial transit...does that mean we can't get off the ship. Or we can only do excursions with the ship? I thought we can get off the ship and learn about the making of the canal?
Thanks for any info.

Hello People,
Can anyone recommend tour companies in Rio that they have used to show us around Rio for 1 to 2 days?
I've heard stories that Rio is not safe and my concern is that I want to use a reputable company to show us around Rio.
Thank you!

I'll be there for 1 or 2 nights before boarding a cruise ship. Yes, I heard stories about Rio being unsafe so I wanted to stay in a safe area.
Also wanted to find a local tour company to take us around but not sure where to start.
Thank you!

Hi,
I'll be joining a cruise to south america in Dec and boarding in Rio but not familiar with Rio. Can anyone recommend or suggest what area I should book? Or even some names of hotels they've stayed at that is clean and safe?
Thank you!

Are there any shuttle companies that will pick you up at the ship and take you to the airport instead of paying the $35 fee for our group of 6?
Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks

I am on the Disney Fantasy and we dock in Port Canaveral at 7:30am. If I book a flight at 11:25am out of Orlando airport, do you think that is cutting it too close?
Never been on a Disney cruise. Disney says 11:30am is the earliest but it's just 5 mins and they say they won't guarantee that I'll make my flight.

If you're going to be at Fisherman Wharf, you can try Scoma's for seafood. It's not cheap but not real expensive either.
Or if you really have time, you can take in a show to see Beach Blanket Babylon in North Beach with either a early dinner or late dinner since there are lots of italian restaurants in that area. For the show, you need to pre-buy tickets and it's a first come for the best seats but you are guaranteed a seat. It's a very popular show that have been running in SF for many years.

Is there somewhere in San Pedro that we can park our car for 5 days while we are on our cruise?

I booked a cruise with princess and paid a non refundable deposit but with the coronavirus i’m worried it might be too soon to travel.
Can we transfer the non refundable deposit to another future cruise? or get a refund?
Thank you for your help!
