Hi, we are getting on MSC Musica in Kiel. We fly into Hamburg and have booked train tickets to get to Kiel. It looks like we can walk to the port of Kiel from the train station but we will have luggage. Is it a difficult walk or do you know if there is a port bus? Thank you

Oh well each to there own!!! Lifes too short to be worrying cars can easily be replaced....... Surely you are taking the same risk where insurance is concerned:confused:

Or nearly the deposit for another cruise!!!!!!:D:D

Thanks for this information, I've contacted the hotel and I think we'll do the same here..They have offered a day pass with or without lunch and as we're travelling with some very picky eaters I was wondering if you could let us know what kind of food it is? I've looked on the hotel website and they seem to have a few dining options so please could you let us know which restaurant the lunch was served in? Really appreciate this info, we were really struggling for what to do here!
The food was a buffet type. There were lots of choice and is served in the Restaurant that overlooks the sea.
There are soups, salads, cold meats, fish, salmon mousse for starters. For main course there were curry/ Goulash options about 6 different types including fish, chicken and lamb. There was also a carvery for the plain eaters.Too many desserts to mention! There should be no problem with picky eaters.
Sounds great- we will give it a go!!!! Many thanks:)

Day at sea then khor al fakkan. This resort is small. I researched prior and there is a 4 star hotel called the oceanic that does day pass. Free shuttle bus out of port. Walk 3 mins to taxi rank and take the free courtesy bus to the Oceanic. Day pass for our party was 65 AED please note cash only. For this we got full use of sauna, pools, beach including towels sun lounger and a fantastic lunch. A brilliant family day! Returned on 3:30 courtesy bus.

If you mean me, thank you :p
The dinings are 7pm and 9.30pm.
I was originally on the early one, but ended up on the 2nd. I wasnt happy at the time, but in the end it was nicer as I got ready for the show (7.45pm) each evening then went to have a pre dinner drink in one of the bars, then had dinner.
The pool towels are provided near the pool. You show your cruise card and they hand you a ticket and they give you a lovely bright orange towel :D
When you have finished with them, you hand them back, along with your ticket or you will be charged for each towel not returned.
Hairdryers: I had one in my bathroom,a nd i was very surprised how good it was! Some of my 'dinner friends' were in a balcony suite, and they did not have a hairdryer at all in their room.
Oh, another tip - you have a safety deposit box in your room. Some people didnt find it until the last day so to forward tell you it is in a cupboard BEHIND the mirror ;)

Hiya we are doing this cruise in February and would be really interested to hear about what you did in the ports, we don't want to do ship tours but there doesn't seem to be much information out there to plan DIY trips, thank you!

Hi Sean and Diane, same here, funny the situation how we met:).
We spent a few evenings with David in the DL , the guy I was chatting with when we met and never met on the TA. The second cruise was better thank you.
We had a quick turn around on change over day once it happened though it could have been organised better. There was a lovely lunch provided for B2B guests.
We did self carry luggage when we left the ship and were at the airport for about 8.30am, very quick departure.
After transatlantics the departure in the USA is always a nightmare that is why it is better to either stay one more night or better still stay onboard :D.
Hi Heather
Glad to hear your second one was better. Next time we will ensure we stay a few days later as we really missed not being in Florida even though we were, if you get what i mean!!! Just to let you know too , our son was in his own stateroom and he did receive double points for this trip.... :)
We are off to Manchester today to finally start some Christmas shopping.....

We just recently did the Liberty TA B2B. They DID due the roast beef sandwiches with the carraway seed bun and all the trimmings in the windjammer during lunch but they were not a patch on the Park cafe ones. They were not available everyday but after trying one I never bothered again.:(
Hi Heather
It was really nice speaking with you. We hope your trip got better. Did you see the queues when we docked in Fort Lauderdale? We were in it for well over 2 hours..... I trust it wasnt the same when you got off??

Spinach & artichoke sounds good right NOW!!!
Hello
We were also on the Liberty TA and they also had the same roast beef sandwiches in the dining room a couple of times at lunchtime. The sous chef serving them i had previously met him on the Allure and he assured me that they were the same- but i wasnt so sure. Also Sorrentos had paninis and antipasti available daily....... We didnt try this but it all looked okay..:

Having read that the Liberty just had a TA Cruise – am curious if the entire ship is full of TAs or just a portion of the ship (I “assume” TA’s are wined & dined so that they can steer their customers towards RC?) I’ve been at resorts where they have TA days but a TA cruise is a new concept for me to ponder while I’m at the dentist and my mind seeks a happy place. :)
Hello there, this TA cruise was indeed a transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale- this was our first TA and we had an amazing cruise..... We will certainly do more of this type of cruise.

Perfect description of the sales technique.
We too have been duped- I know it was only 10 euro nut nevertheless 10 x hundreds of passengers that have bought these vouchers adds uo>>>>> A Great BIG Con-MSC. We have just booked a Dubai cruise on the Lirica and couldn't use it.:(

Hi again! Thanks for the reply..glad food is good and I like the sound of the speciality restaurants. We are travelling with our 13yr old son who has asked if you can find out the price of the F1 simulator please? We are not sure if we should get him a teen card to pay for this-are you able to find out where else the teen card can be spent?

Hi there,
We are booked on Divinia in October and are really looking forward to it. We've never done MSC before and have read mixed reviews about the availability of food/tea/coffee. Is Divinia quite different from RCCL in this way? Thank you and enjoy!!
Welcome to NE Germany - happy to help you enjoy
