There were cabins available in the exact same category, I asked to be moved and was denied.

I believe some countries have different booking rules (and perhaps booking laws/protections) than other countries. Is yours a US/Canadian booking? Or another country?
If yours is a US/ Canadian booking, the other time I have had difficulty is when the category has not been released for booking for the number in my party. For example, gty for 2 is assigned a cabin that hold 3 or 4. You may have trouble swapping cabins if that category cannot be booked at that moment by a party of 2. You might try appealing to resolutions/revenue; maybe they might agree if you are lucky.
Thank you so much for sharing. It is a US booking for 2, that could very well be the reason! 😊

They must not be the exact cabin category or you could move. Like d2 can only move to D2, not d3, though both are balconies.
Thanks for info! It is the same category and I'm going to call again as Molly suggested.🤣 I also did a RoyalUp bid. I'm getting out, one way or another... and absolutely never again will I try this! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just realize that booking a fixed cabin does not exempt you from a very rare, but possible move.
An agent just told me that I can't move without paying the difference. There are cabins available within what I was assigned. I have no problem owning my mistake and certainly won't do this again. 🤣

I’ll always have the memories of what it’s like to meet the ship in Nassau.🤣 Our stateroom attendant had the champagne cold for our arrival. What a time indeed! 🤣...and NEVER AGAIN! 😊

I spent my vacation money elsewhere and didn't book a cruise during a pandemic and I certainly wouldn't book one for summer 21 now. Therefor, I have no gripes with the cruise lines.
Same😊 We went to the Maldives.

We went to Cancun twice and just got back from the Maldives a couple of weeks ago! We enjoy cruising but have developed a new interest in AI resorts. The Maldives is unmatched.

We are headed to the Maldives in May.

We absolutely won’t be giving any cruise line a dime and thankfully, we don’t have any money locked into the abyss of cancellations. We went to Mexico in July and returned for Christmas. We are headed to the Maldives in May.

I loved the view but I clearly remember the noise above us.

Any special dining arrangements or is it the same barbecue set up as in Labadee.
There weren’t any special arrangements. However, the buffet was close to our beds. The food was good.

We sailed Mariner after it was Amped and the cabin was nothing special. I didn’t make that mistake when we sailed Navigator and booked one of the new cabins that they added. I didn’t want to sail in an old and dated cabin. 1106 is an amazing choice for a Junior Suite. I knew that I would have been mad had I spent so much money and got a raggedy GS.

Thank you. 🙂 We do love surprises. So you said "told to pick your bed"? You mean they aren't pre-assigned? Hummm. Intriguing. It all sounds wonderful. We are so ready for this vacation. Too bad we have to wait until Feb.
We didn’t arrive super early, the beds weren’t sold out and we were able to get a very good spot with plenty of options. We are going back in February 2020 too!

We have a beach bed reserved for our Feb 2020 visit to Coco Cay. Looking forward to seeing the updates and renovations. Curious to know as we've seen/heard different things...we booked the beach bed online a couple weeks ago, but how/when do we find out the specific bed assignment or do we get to choose? Do we check in with the excursion desk once we get on-board? Should we call RCCL "now" to get the assignment? Do we wait until we arrive @ Coco Cay (surprise)? How did you find out your assignment/bed location?
SURPRISE!!! You guessed it! 😂😂😂😂 The ticket for the bed will be in your stateroom. The tram will drop you off at the beds. There’s a concierge and you will be given your wristbands and told to pick your bed. Your towels, waters, 2 lounge chairs and mats are there as well.

Would you happen to have any pictures of 1106 cabin and balcony?
Is there much of a covered area over the balcony?
This is a screen recording from
Cabin 1154 that someone else posted. It’s the same cabin as 1106, in reverse.

It wasn’t covered. Here’s the balcony video. 😊

What are the balcony's like 1152, 1150, 1100, 1102,1104? I can't find any youtube videos of them. Wouldn't they be really really windy?
We were in 1106 and our neighbors allowed us to see their cabin as they also wanted to see ours. 1104 is narrow but long enough to accommodate 2 loungers. The wind and motion weren’t problems for us.

Table for 2 only.

There were only three JS available we chose 9564, there is no tub or walk in closet?
Cabin 1106 is one of the new JS. It did not have a walk-in closet or a bathtub.

How did you like 1106? Was looking at that cabin for a booking.
We loved it and booked it again! It doesn’t have a bathtub nor walk-in closet but everything was well appointed. The balcony was a sensational bonus. We ordered room service breakfast twice to enjoy outside.

Thank you Bob, unfortunately there were no regular suites available but I keep looking maybe one will open up. I have't seen those shows yet so that is good. Now curious whether there are lounge chairs on the JS balcony and curious what the 4 night menus are. Thank you!!!
Which cabin? We were in 1106 and had these along with a table and 2 chairs.

Thanks for the quick review.
Do the attendants take care of the beach beds as well? What can they do for you?
My pleasure with the mini review.😀
The attendant made sure we had plenty of ice. She was very informative on where things were located. She also kept her eyes on things by removing people who hadn’t paid for the beds.
-
We had a beach bed in its new location. The attendant was great. It was close to a food station. Bar service was plentiful and fast. The bathrooms are clean. The tram stop is nearby. The beach was beautiful. The only issue with the new location was hearing the loud music from the pool.

Boarding times - are they strict?

We arrived at our scheduled time and didn't have to wait. Those that arrived outside of their appointed time had to wait.
