  1. Hi, Jim.

We'll be joining you on Dec 3rd cruise as well. We will drive over Friday from the Phoenix area to LA.

I'm mostly a lurker on these boards, but I've always thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts.

I look forward to seeing you and Iain aboard.  We've been on at least one other cruise with you both, but I've been too shy to approach.

Enjoy the B2B...we're still working but dreaming of someday soon when we'll be able to take more time.

See you on board the Solstice!

  2. We are booked on the February 11 Cuba cruise on the Journey and I am wondering about the Azamazing evening on our cruise as well. I inquired through customer service a few weeks ago and was told the Azamazing evening is generally held in Santiago, but we are currently scheduled for an early departure from this port. It will be disappointing if there is no Azamazing event for this cruise. Bonnie, any help with information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. :)

  3. Anyone know a Cruise Search website that allows you to filter your search based on number of ports of call and more importantly, number of sea day. I am not a big fan of sea days so would like to keep it to a minimum but can't see any search websites that allows that filter.

My husband is also not a fan of sea days. We have a reservation on a 7-day September Pacific Coastal round trip out of LA with zero sea days. As others have said, Caribbean cruises out of San Juan usually have minimal sea days as well.

I hope you find your perfect cruise!

  4. I also always do this. Mainly for coffee. But never ever put your own container under the serving spout. So disgusting. I see children do it all the time.

We have cups with lids similar to a Starbucks type cup that we purchased on a cruise several years ago. They have the Celebrity logo on them. We don't use them except for cruises and just keep them with our "cruise stuff". We have taken them to Cafe al Bacio each morning for a to go cup of coffee and we were planning to do so again on on upcoming cruise. Is this viewed as a problem? Thanks for your help.

  5. Thanks azcruiser I took your advice and this time I got a confirmation yesterday and today. Now I feel like I belong :D

Happy to hear you had success this time!

I know how frustrating it can be....the first several times I tried to register, it didn't work at all. As others have said, at least it seems to be working now. It seems we now just have to live with multiple confirmation emails. :)

  6. I'm feeling ignored and left out.....we're on Summit to Canada and New England in October and I signed up for connections party and haven't heard a word from anybody. I'm wondering if I'm invited or not.

    Hi, Hydrokitty.

I'm on the same cruise and I recently signed up for the connections party and I did get a confirmation. In fact, I think I may have received two. You may want to register again. I can't imagine it would hurt anything. :)

  7. They are very liberal and inconsistent in what cruises they define as "repositioning". Celebrity says if a cruise starts and ends in a different port it is a "repositioning" cruise, even if it stays in the same market, i.e., Asia. The one-way Asian cruises don't leave Asia, but they use the classification to exempt the promo perks, even though they run the itineraries back and forth between the same two ports repeatedly during the season, i.e., Abu Dhabi and Singapore. However, in markets where there is a lot of competition, i.e., Alaska and Europe, they don't do it. I don't have an issue with cruises that change markets, like a move from Asia to the Med, or Europe to the Caribbean, being classified as repositioning, but when they cruise in the same market, it doesn't pass the ethical "smell test" to label them as "repositioning".

Anyone know if a Pacific coastal from Vancouver to LA would be considered a repositioning cruise? I was considering booking a 2017 cruise while on board this October.

They do a very similar cruise the next week that is round trip to and from LA but the timing won't work for me.

    Thanks for any info.

  8. My husband is 6'4" & he always pulls the sheets out at the bottom no matter where we are, including our bed at home. He has never complained about the bed length on any ship.

My husband is 6'4" and he does the same. His feet hang over the end a bit.

OTOH, I am 4'11" and have no problem at all. :)

  9. Hi, rsail203.

We sailed the Summit in 1138 this past November prior to the recent dry-dock and new patio and movie theater addition above. WE LOVED IT! The cabin is conveniently located to aft elevators, the sunset bar, the buffet, and to Blu. We had no smoke or soot problems. You can hear some noise/music from the bar below when out on the balcony but we actually enjoyed sitting on the private balcony in the evenings and listening to the music below. We didn't hear anything in the cabin with the door closed. You will have both sun near the railing and shade near the door. We have booked the cabin next door 1140 for a cruise in October and we only hope we like it as well as we did 1138. Enjoy your cruise!

  10. Hello, everyone.

I just thought I would mention that I have been on the phone with the Captain's Club each day this week attempting to redeem my cruise reward points from my credit card and the system has been down all week. It could be that others are having the same issue and may account for some of the long wait times. I hope they have the issue resolved soon as we sail next month.
