  1. The bus tour is not included in that price, it is another $25. per person.

    Sherri:)

No, the bus tour is *definitely* included in that price - we were there 1 week ago.

This is the basic bus tour that anybody can go on - it’s about 45 minutes and they drive you round the various launch pads and give you some commentary and then there’s a building with a film and cool exhibits.

I think there are, fancier things you can do that cost extra, but the basic bus tour is definitely included

I though KSC was awesome and I wish we’d had longer there - we were there from about 11:30-4:30 and there was loads of things we didn’t get to do in the time we had.

  2. Count me as one of the crazies that’s choosing to visit Disney during our stop in Port Canaveral.

We’ll also be on Adventure. The ship is scheduled to be in port from 12:00noon to 9:00pm. We hope to arrive at the park by 1:30 and leave at 6:30 which would put us back in Port Canaveral around 8pm.

I do have a question for the experts here. I notice the route between the port and Orlando include toll roads. Are there cash lanes on these toll roads?

I’m far from an expert as I’m British lol' date=' but we’ve just come back from a (land) holiday in Orlando and drove from Kissimmee to Port Canaveral (well, Kennedy Space Centre). There were lots of toll roads - I think we had to stop and pay tolls about four or five times in the one journey. Most of them were really really small, like 50c, or $1, or $1.25. The whole set up was very weird! Can’t possibly have been worth it. All the tolls had lanes for people will automatic things, and also lanes where you could pay in cash and get change. But a word of warning, elsewhere in Florida we drove on roads where not only did you have to pay cash, but it had to be COINS! Nightmare for us, because we didn’t have any.

  3. We arrive in DXB at 03:45, flying Royal Brunei Airlines (NOT my choice of time - the airline changed the flight!). I was wondering if there is a Business Class Lounge that you can pay for (we're flying economy) in Arrivals at DXB, where we could stay for a while before going to our hotel?

  4. I've never been there but Tegel's website lists 21 restaurants. I believe it is the 4th busiest airport in Germany (behind Frankfurt, Munich, and Dusseldorf (and well ahead of Schonefeld, Berlin's other airport). Hardly tiny.

Well I have been there (many times) and I think the disconnect is that there is more than one departure terminal, and the one we use (which would be for continental Europe flights) is (I assure you) as described. But it might be that the other terminal buildings are larger.

  5. My experience with the basic (not streaming) on the Indy TA this month was pretty poor, I'm glad I didn't pay extra for the streaming one. Not so much that it was slow (it was acceptable, although to be honest it wouldn't have been good enough for streaming anything - even the little video clips you get on Facebook it would only play 1-2 seconds of, then freeze). The issue was that it was constantly dropping out, and re-connecting was hit and miss, to put it mildly. I don't regret getting it - having internet on a cruise was awesome, it was the one real downside of cruising before - but $12.99 was plenty, I wouldn't have wanted to have been paying more.

  6. Harmony decor in the cabins is more up to date: rather elegant greys, blues and silver. And I think iirc that the chairs on the balcony had footstools

The slides are fun if you like that kind of thing

    Wonderland is good

No pool in Solarium is a major fail IMO. That and the inflated price would probably stop me from choosing Harmony again.

Other than the above and the comedy club/Attic difference she is identical.

Personally I'd take Cats over Grease any day. Seen Grease twice now, on Harmony and on Indy, and the show didn't improve - dated and heteronormative, in my view. The songs are good though, to be fair.

  7. Food gets brought to you, although they check before you start whether there's any allergies, strong dislikes etc. They tailor the size of the course to the number in your party so each course is an appropriate size. It is indeed unique and if you've got money off and are up for an unusual eating adventure I would definitely go for it.

  8. I honestly think you're over-thinking it. I think if you were in drastically different boarding slots (say, 11am and 3pm) it might be different but as you're all in the same slot, just board all at the same time if the photo is important to you, and then go straight to the dining room. Your dining arrangements are very unlikely to be made or broken for the sake of 30 mins or so.

I'm afraid I don't know the actual answer to your question though (re re-embarking while embarkation is still ongoing. I have to say my gut feeling is that it would cause a bit of consternation though!)

  9. Did it on Harmony in June - absolutely loved sit, I would say it's one of my favourite activities I've ever done on a ship.

To the poster from Germany - I would say that the puzzles themselves don't require good English, they are much more "logic" puzzles, but you do need to communicate and work as a team with your group (the teamwork was the most fun thing about it) so that may be an issue. There is a minimum of six people needed for them to run it (one of the puzzles requires six people). I'm not sure what the maximum is. Our group we had eight (two couples, and a family of four). I think the 14 age minimum is probably fair - the puzzles aren't easy, and I think under 14's generally might be out of their depth. Not all, of course, but I suppose they have to make a rule/draw a line somewhere.

Our team got out with literally seconds to spare! It was great fun.

  10. We were on Jewel a few years ago and one of the lead male entertainers was sent home (mid cruise) for spending time in a guest jacuzzi with a passenger who was a family friend from home! (i.e. This guy was one of the "two male, two female" combo that do the singing when they have Royal Caribbean production shows). One of the dancers had to fill in and lip sync in the remaining two production shows of the cruise. We were very shocked that they would

be quite as strict as this, but it was apparently quite early in this performer's contract (I think it was his second cruise) so maybe that makes a difference. Also of course v different to the OP's situation in that there's a big difference between just chatting to a guest on the pool deck and sitting in the jacuzzi with one.

Interestingly, on ships like Oasis and Allure that have "Broadway" shows, the star performers in those are on the "guest manifest" which means they are not restricted in this way - we got friendly with two of the leads from "Hairspray" on Oasis a few years ago, we ate with them in Chops once or twice, and they took us backstage (I think that part they weren't really meant to do!). And the following year on Allure my son befriended some of the Chicago people, and hung out with them late nights at the gym. I guess the Broadway show stars are deemed to be less expendable than the Royal Caribbean singers!

OP I'm sure you bartender will be fine and is just busy - all he was doing is talking to a passenger, in the end.

  11. Hi! We're doing the same cruise in reverse in April next year! (well, not the whole thing - I mean the Abu Dhabi to Rome part through the the Suez Canal. 15 nights I think). We've not been on Connie before, only on S class ships, so I'm interested to hear about her. We're not doing it in such grand style though - we've got a Deck 3 ocean view cabin!
