  1. I am Elite with Princess and our medallions have always been "black" in color. But, I just received my medallion for my next cruise and the medallion color is "White". Can anyone tell me why? My Princess cruise rep did not know why. We guessed that it may because we are getting a suite (first time) or is it because of Club Class, also first time.

A fully comped cruise through Blue chip doesn't qualify for move up. we had a fully comped cabin on the Edge and never received a move up offer. And actually we did a paid upgrade a still never received a move up offer.

Sorry but you are wrong. On our Sep 2921 Equinox cruise, we were in a fully comped veranda and through the Move Up we bid on an Aqua class and we got it.

Ah there you go, just book another cruise using your FCC and mentally consider it a L&S. Too late to ask for refund sadly.

First of all, unfortunately, I can't get a deal like I had for my April cruise. I have a letter from RCI that says I have until Dec 31st to change my mind and get a full refund.

  4. I found that RCI has a Lift and Shift policy for cruises canceled by COVID. But I was surprised that the earliest cruises eligible were ones cancelled on 20 May 2020 or after. I was a little surprised to see this cutoff date because my cruise was cancelled by RCI on 13 March 2020 for the same reason. I requested that RCI grandfather my cruise into this program because like I said, RCI cancelled my cruise for the same reason, COVID-19.

They refused to allow me to use the Lift and Shift! I am not trying to get something that no one else has, I just want the same as others received! I believe this is UNFAIR!

  5. Like WNcruiser said "If you have “Your time” it’s no problem, just ask for a table for two when you show up." If you have assigned dining, don't bother contacting the matre'd. They don't have to look at your email. John Heald is who you need to contact. Go on his Facebook page a few days before your cruise and ask him for a table for two. That is the only way to do it to make sure you get it.

klfrodo is correct that most tables for 2 are very close together and you really don't have much privacy.

  6. If you go to the casino, you can charge money to your sail and sign card. The Milestone OBC can be used that way to just get the cash. My wife and I just got off of our 25th milestone cruise and used the OBC in the casino. We were on a casino premier cruise so we did not have to pay the 3% that the casino normally charges.

  7. It will be hit or miss if the maître d will see, answer or do as you requested. John Heald has said on many occasions that the maître d does not have the time to do this most of the time and that they are not obligated to. If you have a special table request, ask John Heald on his Facebook page and he will get the request to the correct people. I have tried both ways and going with John has worked every time.

  8. The Spa always has some deals on board. We always wait for the Spa to see what the first day and in port deals are. As far as the Chef's table, it is normally sold out before the cruise and has a wait list. That being said, last year on the Breeze we checked the first day if there was any spots open and were put on a wait list. We found out the day of the Chef's Table that we could attend. we paid the same price as if we had booked before hand (I can't remember how much, but I did ask if it was the same price and was told yes.)

  9. It does not happen very often, but sometimes conditions will cause you to be late getting back to the ship. If you are on a Carnival excursion, they will wait for you. If you are on your own excursion and are late, the ship may or may not be there. On our last cruise (a coastal California), four of our table mates missed the ship because of traffic. They met the ship the next day and told us that they got caught up in the hills around Santa Barbara because of a wild fire and the fire department was keeping everyone in place for safety. They were on the coast and saw the ship sailing away. Lucky for them it was a short ride down to LA to meet the ship the next day. So if you are on your own, be prepared for the unexpected.

  10. No chocolates, no table cloths (American Table), increases in gratuities and FTTF, Vista, once-a-day room cleaning... Just to name a few.

Still the best value in cruising though in my opinion. :-)

You can get twice a day room cleaning. All you have to do is check both morning and evening and you will get it. They started giving you the choice because a lot of people (like the rest of my family) only want service once a day.

  11. That will be the most expensive cruise you have ever taken. How much do you lose in the casino and you think you are getting a great deal.:confused::confused::confused:

I am always on a budget. I consider the casino my entertainment and so if I lose everything I brought to gamble, than I consider myself even. If I return with any then I put it away for my next cruise. I will say though that I normally bring money back. I never enter the casino believing that I am going to leave a winner, just hope to leave even.

  12. Before OP gets too excited, these would be Pack & Play offers based on Dave and Mel's previous casino play. OP may be on the casino's radar for previous play, but any offers will be based on previous play, not solely completing a survey.

True, you are right, I should have thought of that. that being said, you don't have to spend a lot of money in the casino to get the deals. My wife's Aunt only played the slots two nights on her last cruise with us and she gets the casino offers. I don't know if it is hit and miss or just how they pick who gets the offers, but I hope they keep sending them to me!

  13. I only gamble about $200 worth on my cruises and so does husband so not sure why they want to target me for a survey on casinos. Anyone ever get anything back from these surveys?

YES! We get deals from the casino a couple times a year. We are going on the Carnival Vista for back to back cruises in October. Both are casino deals. The first one is a 10 day from Athens, cost for a balcony - $500 each. The next one is the 13 day Trans-Atlantic, cost for a balcony - $750 each. We could have got an inside cabin for $125 and $250 each, but went for the balcony. This was a deal from the casino!

  14. Has anyone taken a Halloween Cruise on Carnival before. I'm booked on the Elation next Oct. 30th. I've heard that the ships are decorated for Halloween and people dress up in costumes all week, etc. Can anyone verify this? Thanks.

Only been on one Halloween cruise, Carnival Dream. A lot of people dress up on Halloween night only. Most of the passengers did not. They had a costume contest and some of the places gave candy to those in costume.
