*** disclaimer***** I, myself have no firsthand experience with bed bugs, however the company I work for has, and as such I was trained in bed bug detection.

 

 

 

The first place you check is by peeling back the fitted sheet of your mattress, pay close attention to the piping around the mattress, carefully look in the crevice to see if there are any live or dead bugs. Even if you don't find any, if you find tiny dark stains (blood spots), this is also evidence that bed bugs were (are) there.

 

 

 

Check behind pictures on the walls, and look in and around electrical sockets - these are bed bug hiding places.

 

 

 

Never leave your suitcase on the floor, always use a luggage rack.

How can I check my hotel rooms for bed bugs? I practically live in them half the year.

We're booked on a cruise next year on the Allure in the new Royal Suite, cabins 1701 and 1758. Does anyone have pics of these suites? I called RCCL and they don't have any yet.

 

 

 

Also this suite will be included in the new Royal Class Suite benefit program for those booked in suites. We'll be in Star Class which includes some unbelieveble benefits that could save a LOT of money - gratuities, ultimate beverage package, thermal spa access, and on.

Late to the party, but we just booked 1701 for our May 2016 cruise. From a video I saw, it looks like anyone on the pool deck might be able to see in :eek:

Did you have an issue with privacy in the bedroom from the pool deck? It's just the two of us so we don't have to worry about the connectinign living room, just trying to avoid giving deck 16 too much of a show! :D

As long as its not dark outside and you have the curtains open with the lights on in the bedroom, you should be ok. I have several pictures and the video of that exact suite.

Leaving on Allure this Sunday (yay!) and just realized that my FaceTime does not work... I plan on buying the unlimited internet package and need to stay in touch with work/home while away. Does anyone have another video chat app that they have had success with, on board, using the ship's wifi?

 

I have an iPhone 5.

I just read that the Allure does have the faster land speeds available now. I was on the Oasis for the Halloween sailing, and was able to FaceTime under the current speeds on it.

We're just finishing a 7-day on Oasis in crown loft suite #1748. According to our cabin attendant (who will be working on Deck 17 on the revamped ship) the drydock will be bringing big changes to Deck 17 and Deck 12:

 

Moving the concierge lounge from Deck 11/12 to Deck 17

 

Adding cabins to Deck 12 in the space vacated by the presidential suite.

 

Removing the Viking Lounge to make make room for the concierge lounge

 

Removing the presidential suite completely

 

Adding two new royal suites to Deck 17 (not lofts, just suites)

 

Eliminating the Pinnacle Lounge and Pinnacle Chapel on Deck 17 to make room for the new royal suites

 

In all, he said there would be 40 additional cabins.

 

I apologize if this info is already out on cruise critic, it's hard to search the forums on my iPad from the ship!

You are correct. I was booked in the royal suite on the Oasis for the 10/27/14 cruise, and received a call a few days ago that they had to cancel my suite for major renovations to that room until the December , 13 2014 sailing. I think they canceled that suite for the westbound TA cruise too.
