Thanks.  We are not into the party vibe either.  My husband has worked very hard all his life and is usually in bed by 10.   But he does love a casino 🤣

I am ready for a different experience.   For his retirement cruise, I think it needs to be more of an adult trip.

Trust me, you will both love the Celebrity Cruises!

My husband and I are seasoned cruisers.  We have sailed with Carnival 25+ times.   With that said, I am planning my husbands retirement cruise in 2026 or 2027.  I feel like we need to try a different cruise line.   We were in port next to Celebrity Ascent.....OMG it is beautiful!

We would love to do at least a 10 day cruise for his retirement.

If you have cruised on Carnival and Celebrity, what are the main differences you have found?  Is the dress code "fancier" that Carnival at dinner?  Anything goes on Carnival now.  We actually sat next to a man in a bathing suit in the main dinning room.  Didn't bother me, but I know it would bother some 🙃

    Thanks for your input

We have cruised on Carnival and Celebrity.  Celebrity is definitely a better option if you are looking to relax and have more of an adult style cruise.   I personally would not cruise Carnival again because we are not party animals and find that Carnival was a party vibe.

! Did something similar when we booked cheap cruises a year or two ago and Celebrity came back and doubled and tripled the booked prices (had booked 4 in a row) !!! Their fine print says they have the right to change the price of your booked cruise up to the day of sailing. Suspect the same will happen on these bookings !!!

Never heard of this ever happening 😲

I rarely get an invite for some reason even though signed up.    At 90 days I just go to the MoveUp site and put in Reservation Number and last name and am able to bid.

Didn't realize you have to sign up for it

  5. We will be docked in Curacao from 1pm to 9pm.   Will there be tours available at port?  We did not book excursion for this stop through Cruise Ship.  Hoping to walk around, shop and visit but would be nice to do like a 1hr or 2hr tour of the town.  What are your recommendations?

We have been on both and they are essentially the same.  The 5 Solstice class ships are divided in two groups in our minds:

    1. Solstice/Equinox/Eclipse.  These are the first 3 ships and they have the Hot Glass Show venue.

    2.  Silhouette/Reflection.  They do not have the Hot Glass Show, but instead they have two specialty restaurants that Solstice/Equinox/Eclipse don't have: Lawn Club Grill and The Porch.

I've booked the Hot Glass this time with my friend, looking forward to trying this out.  We loved the Solstice and i'm sure it will be the same love for the Eclipse.

  7. We were on the Solstice in 2019 and now have booked the Eclipse for 2024.  Are the 2 ships very similar in decor and floor plans?  I searched and it does state that they are sister ships and i'm just curious if they are the same.  We really enjoyed the Solstice and service, hoping to enjoy the Eclipse as well.

  8. We already booked our golf cart for our Cruise in 2024 and i'm wondering while we drive around, i know we see beaches, flamingos, snorkeling etc but are there any boutiques or souvenir shops as well?

  9. For someone just wanting to walk around and shop while docked in Aruba, what is our best bet for this? right off the ship and walk around or take taxi? Also what are some of things to buy or see?  Open to suggestions and recommendations, thank you 🙂
