We are on Marina starting 12/1 and were just offered today an upgrade from veranda to concierge veranda for $400 pp. Not part of the Black Friday sale.

I too was surprised when filling out the on-line checkin form for our Oeania 12/1 cruise that I was asked when I wanted to board. I would love to know how many passengers will be on board.

@Hunding There might be some very nice upsells on this cruise for those who are staying the course.
All the great Deck 7 PH are open now plus something in all the high end suites.
I have asked my TA to let me know of any "sales" on upgrades.
I have also asked my TA to look into applying the new $1000 FCC given to us for not canceling the cruise to this cruise. All the note says is that the $1000 can be applied to ANY future O cruise departing by 11/10/2023. I can't predict whether or not I will travel with O in the future.

LHT28, thank you very much.
So after Costa Rica, it's a straight sail for seven days to Chile, excepting the Canal transit and the "probably-bunkering" stop in Panama, as you suggested.
We love the sea days, truly...but missing Lima...the Nazca/Pisco Lines...Inca...?
And two days in Ushuaia? I hear Johnny Carson's affectionate references to "beautiful, downtown Burbank!" And another two days in Montevideo?
Maybe we'll sleep on it........................
We certainly don't like the changes but will still go. We are already planning a trip to Peru/Machu Picchu later in 2022.

The itinerary is back on the Oceania website. No Peru/Ecuador. Looks like O owes me quite a bit of money. $4798 for the trip to Machu Picchu and for excursions in Ecuador. I don't want to hear about "Cruise Credit" in any form.

We intend on cruising from 12/1 - 1/8 no matter what the outcome turns out to be but it would have been nice at the end of workday yesterday that Oceania sent out a note to all those concerned stating at the very least that they were unable to reach a final decision but were diligantly working on a resolution.

We will probably do the same. Spending 5 days at sea just to go to a country that we will not actually see just to add more time and money to fly from doesn't really make sense. Peru and Ecuador were among the highlights of this cruise, without them we can just book a similar cruise that starts and ends in Miami (which is what we will probably do if the original itinerary is not restored).
We are in the same boat (pun intended). Dec 1 to Jan 8, but have no intention of canceling whatever happens on Monday. Peru, with a sidetrip to Machu Picchu, was to be the highlight of the trip but we will take whatever the cruise ends up to be. Looking forward to getting away and meeting all those who will be on board.

It's getting crazy. I am delighted that Peru and Ecuador may be back in the mix. We are on the Miami-BA 38 day cruise and we would not have chosen the cruise without Peru and Ecuador. Of course, one might wonder what the real truth is behind the reason for reviving Peru and Ecuador. I'm sure Oceania received a great deal of negative feedback and possible cancellations which might have motivated them to look further into the subject. I immediately contacted my TA yesterday to express my displeasure over the changes.

Most I think would prefer local currency otherwise they may have to pay an exchange fee
Easy to hit an ATM get a few $ in the local currency for most Countries
JMO
Of course then we are hit with an ATM fee. Most excursions I am on are run by the ship and very little time to head to an ATM. But I will try to get some local currency. Thanks for the input.

Great input. Is it preferable to the guides to be paid in local currency? I know they will always accept dollars but which would they prefer? Cruises hit a port a day and getting local currency can be difficult.

We went from B3 to A1. 38 days on board. 3 floors higher. Closer to mid-ship. Added benefits for moving from veranda to concierge veranda. Worth $800? I don't know. I do know those who were already booked in the same cabins paid $2900 for the privilege.
