I would much rather fly into Orlando than Miami!!! And customs is easier for those coming from other countries.
I'm also at the point in my life where I've been everywhere I want to cruise to and now pretty much go for the ship. Having said that, I can't ever imagine being on a mega ship with 5,000+ pax and crew. To me, that's not my cup of tea. Oceania and Regent have docked in Canaveral, so anything is possible I think. And they're in the process of extending the port, too.

No, you are not, in my opinion. The ease of driving, parking, and embarking at Port Canaveral is so much better than at the Port of Miami. Some HAL cruisers are sometimes unhappy with Port Everglades regarding those arrangements, but, if, indeed, HAL does need to move to Miami, those that drive will be most unhappy in comparison to Port Everglades. For those that fly into either Port, it will one of those "ho-hum"--so what?--situations. Flying to embark a cruise sailing from Port Canaveral is a different matter.

Doesn't Port Canaveral take another 10 hours sailing to get to the Caribbean then Everglades ? No thanks .
I'm being selfish. Canaveral is only 1 1/2 hours from me, but I hate the ships that that berthed there.

Bring them to Port Canaveral!!!!!!!

I'm interested in this, but since it says "strenuous", I have some questions. Is it just a lot of walking? I have a rollator and have no problem walking, but if it's uneven pavement or many stairs, I can't do this. If anyone has been on this, I would appreciate any help and advice. Thanks in advance.

It is not night, pretty much the same as a good old American Standard tub in houses throughout America. I sure do prefer no tub, those big walk-in showers are my preference
I agree, but the Zaandam doesn't have them as far as I can tell.

Can anyone tell me if the tub is high or not? I'm not happy with getting in and out of a tub and any information you could pass on would be very helpful. This was never a problem until a few years ago when my age started advancing, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance!!

Maybe they're from Florida with early bird coupons? LOL

You have only seen one? Daily, on my local three TV stations, I see such commercials from legal firms. The ad revenue must be of great benefit to the companies which own the stations' bottom line.
Every hour there's commercials about auto accidents, but this was the first I saw that was blatent about falling in a store and even went so far as to say the floor might be wet or such.

This reminds me of a local commercial on TV a year or so ago: If you have a fall, give us a call.

I was hoping someone would step up but I am here if you have specific questions.
Lovely so far. Foggy and windy in Red Bay today. I did not go ashore as I had read about the bugs and I don’t like long or rough tender rides. Seems more of an important place to the Vikings as opposed to a port with lots to do. All aboard should be in about an hour but I have not heard of anyone too excited about the port yet.
There are about 1100 passengers with 700-800 4 and 5 star Mariners. Laundry was only 1 day the first time.
Food and service has been very good to me but maybe others will chime in. The ship seems upgraded and nice except for the tv’s. Went to a talk with F and B director and Hotel director. Great info and the tv wiring is all done but they can’t get the tv’s. Hoping by the Grand Africa, I think he said.
Having a great time! Hope others will join in!
Thank you!! I appreciate this.

Is anyone on board posting about this trip? I'd love to follow it.

Does the Riverside offer shuttle service to the port? Also, is there bell service for luggage?
-
Thank you!!!

Does HAL have a solo get together early in the cruise so we can meet fellow solo travelers?

I had it on the Constellation in March, but it was GREEN. Not sure what happened.

There is another hog that we encountered on Oceania. (So it doesn't matter the cost of the cruise -- it's the "people" who cruise). We were having breakfast on the outdoor cafe when this insufferable person leaves his table to park himself close to ours so he won't disturb his other insufferables while he's on his cell phone. And why do people who use cell phones think that everyone wants to hear their conversations?
We were younger than we are now, so we kept quiet. Now, today, this feisty old lady would have said something.

Just to let you know I ended up at a table of seven people. We all kind of just found one another and I have never been with such interesting and delightful people. What a pleasure. And I’m not the only one that feels that way. We all discussed it tonight and feel very blessed to have found one another
