    First I'm not your Bro or your friend, and yes facts matter. I posted FACTS, transcripts are FACTS not just videos, ever hear of video editing? Yes we all need to work together, but working together means admitting that a lot of( I'll say mistakes) were made by the whitehouse to get us were we are now .We have to fix those (mistakes). Wear masks, wash your hands and help your neighbors and things WILL get better.

    The article wasn't opinion, they stated FACTS with DATES that the president told the lies. That are easily looked up, but not all in one place like the article. But here's another site, what was said and the date it was said . But I'm sure it's BIASED in your opinion also.😄 The solution to the problem, listen to the experts not the people who deny science. Then we can get back to cruising faster.

    If we had any type of leadership from the Whitehouse instead of daily lies, and just listen to experts we would be in a whole lot of better position than we are now. 15 case that'll be zero soon has turned into over 2 million cases and 120,000 dead in just 3 months. That's the incompetence we have now.

    Now Florida only has about a quarter of ICU beds open right now, and cases are just staring to spike upwards. In Pinellas county (where I live) since June 1st the cases have more than doubled from about 1200 cases to almost 3000 cases with deaths going from 82 to 112.  I'm with you I think if this trend keeps going upward WDW would be crazy to reopen.

    When it comes time to decide on cruising this year, next year or anytime, there is lots of information out there about safety, and the risks involved.  I hope everyone uses this information to make their own decisions based on their own circumstances.  If you have reason to take precautions, cruising's might not be for you right now.  But if you're not scared of the virus, don't let anyone shame you into being scared.

    You posted links the other day trying to prove that covid-19 and the flu had the same risks and such. I read those links and they proved you wrong. I responded as such.I love people who try to tell me because I wear a mask or self isolate that I'm SCARED, NNOOOO I'm not scared for ME. I think of other people who If I don't wear a mask or take precautions can get sick from ME. Now if you don't care about getting other people sick, that's who YOU are, and you have to live with yourself. I was taught empathy for my fellow human beings, I feel sorry that you weren't.

    I agree it's impossible, at least to me. What percentage of cruisers fly to the port? When you arrive at the port it's really busy. Then after you check in you have to wait in the terminal where it's also usually packed. All of this before you even get on a cruise. The space they use for 2500 people + does not allow for social distancing.  I'm with you I think I'll wait until this gets under control some how. Everyone take care.

    Let's assume that this is correct and 3 million have been infected. Compared to the official fatality count of 20k, the death rate is 0.67% of the infected.

     

    By comparison, it has been estimated that the common flu kill 0.1% (one out of a thousand) of the infected adults. For the 2018/19 season, CDC estimated 35 million symptomatic illnesses and 34k deaths.

    Therefore, covid19 has the potential to infect more of the population and kill 6.7x more of the infected. Transpose those numbers to your cruise ship.

     

    Should the cruise ship be full of young people, then the infection rate would be high (party time) and the death rate low. The reverse for the typical cruise demographics.

     

    The picture below has been snipped from a Korean CDC pdf. The fatality rate for those 80+ in age is 24%. For those in the 70s, death rate of 10% of the infected.

     

    Perhaps, that's why Carnival is launching the Carnival brand first, before the brands with older demographics. So Happy Cruisers, which demographic group are you?

    You know that the flu vaccine you receive each year is for the last flu strain. It does not protect you for the new mutated strain that may arise. So he was great and part of the so called not to be trusted  government. See how can anyone believe what you say when you say the government can't be trusted but you call reagen great, unless you mean he was a great actor, but that's not the context your statement said.
