We are booked on the Nieuw Amsterdam next August for a round trip Alaskan cruise from Vancouver. We have an inside stateroom(8041).I was doing some research about private cabanas by the lido pool. Has anyone booked one of these cabanas? How was the weather? Did you find it worth the money? I don't like cold weather but was wondering since they have the retractable roof what the temperature would be like.

I'm looking at flights for my Alaskan cruise next August. We are booked on the ms Nieuw Amsterdam with Holland America. The itinerary says we will be back in Vancouver at 7Am. What is a good time to book a returning flight? We are traveling back to the US and want to make sure we have plenty of time to go through customs ect.

If you are looking into booking a private tour not through the cruise ship i would book asap. We sail next Aug and i already booked our glacier and bear viewing tours. Both company's made the reservations but deposits are not due till January.

We booked a 7 day cruise out of Vancouver on Holland America MS Nieuw Amsterdam. I'm trying to get all my excursions booked asap. It will be myself and my bf. We want to do some adventurous tours with great opportunity for photos. Can anyone give insight on some of the listed tours?

Vancouver- Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge

Juneau- Northstar Helicopter Glacier walk about. I was looking at the extended tour but was hoping to get some feed back if one is better then the other. Or if another company offers something close to this? If you booked the shorter tour did you book something else after? We are in port from 1pm-10pm.

Ketchikan- Island wings Air service- I really think doing the Misty Fjords and Bear viewing combination tour sounds amazing!

I appreciate any feedback. My bf isn't really into traveling so, i do all the research and planning.

I'm looking to book a 7 day cruise to Alaska next August. It will be my bf and i (31/27) and i'm having a hard time deciding on a cruise line. We have sailed before on Carnival and Celebrity. Open to trying a new line but i want the best times in port for excursions. I know i want to do the round trip from Seattle. I have found two i like but was wondering if one has better port times then the other?

The first one is with Emerald Princess and the second with Explorer of the Seas. The first one doesn't have great time in Victoria. However, i was reading great reviews on Tracy Arm Fjord & Glacier Explorer Catamaran Excursion Right off the Ship. What are the time requirements for this excursion? Also, is Tracy Arm Fjord better then Glacier Bay?
